I made an ePERFORMAX PayPal thread so we guys from paypal could talk here.

This is where noobs could ask what to expect from their training. And those regulars could answer them. Its also a place where we could vent our anger, enthusiasm and other weird emotions that we may want to let out.

So post your rants and raves regarding your day to day life at work.

Hi, trackerdude! Good thing you started this thread. I am an incoming trainee for Paypal account kase come June 27. I just hope you can answer my questions.

1. I was told that the DIET training's purpose is to neutralize the accent. So, is this very much different from all other call centers who train people to acquire the American accent?
2. Is this a 5-day training? That is, from Monday to Friday? If yes, will we know on the last day whether we passed it or not?
3. My friend from another call center said that their product training is very, very difficult. Is it also the same here with PST?
4. Will we be given the chance to make up in case we flunk in it?
5. I do not have any idea of Academy Bay. Any brief explanation about this?
6. Lastly, I really need a job so much and i am so happy that i passed the exam and the interviews. Will you kindly give me tips so that I can get through successfully with all of the trainings? Parang ang dating kase is we are like passing through a needle's eye before we finally get to become an employee.

1. diet training's purpose is to neutralize ur accent. u will learn why when u get to diet. u will also learn about accents.
2. pst will always be difficult especially if u have no background on what ur are going to do. it could be very fun and informative though. so relax. eperformax hired u because they are confident that u will pass pst and eventually ojt.
3. how to pass? review, review, review, practice, practice, practice.

btw, im from batch 3. we're on our last week of abay now...

as for the tips,

------ during diet, make sure to participate actively. show your communication skills. do not over exag ur pronounciations and enunciation... some of of my batchmates were booted because of this. make sure also to show a constant improvement on the recordings that you will do everyday. on the last day of diet, u will have your certification, just do your best coz this is where most of the weight is put in... if you pass diet, mas madali nqa apg nasa pst.


----- pst is a bit easy... that is if you focus on the topics... anyway, the exams are open data base naman as long as magaling ka maghanap... makikita mo ang sagot.


----- abay is for one month... u have a set of goals or metrics that you will need to meet to be certified fully. reasonable naman ang metrics and you have your coaches to back you up...


the account is not that hard and the callers are not that rude... just enjoy what you are doing and all will be fine.

nope, u will only work for five days a week. you are expected to take calls for at least 7.5 hours a day. (coz u do have 2 15 minute breaks and a 1 hour lunch break)... time runs so fast esp if ur lucky enaough to get a call from a customer who seem to have all the possible problems you could think of.. hehehehehe

the account is a combination of email and phone support... konti lang ang mga irate callers... and the account is a bit easy to get used to...

as for the metrics.... you will be required to meet the 30 day stats to be certified. u will be informed of the details towards the end of pst.

there's always a 2-week lag between the pay period and the pay release. for example, you worked from june 1 to 14, you get paid for that on june 28. meron kasing cut off for payroll processing purposes.

that should have been explained to you by HR during the orientation.

dude, ip relay's basic is P21,500 plus 20%bonus approx P4,300 plus 10% night diff at the most P1,400 so the most an ip relay opr can get is gross P27, 200 and since the basic pay is bigger, it s bigger on the long run annualized gross pay including 13 th month pay is P279,000++ as opposed to annualized gross pay of paypal approximately P221,000++

madali lang ang pst... dont worry too much.. just listen to the lectures and try as much as you can to see the connection and links between the topics presented....

anyway, all the certification exams are done online and all are multiple choice type of exams... not to mention that the data base would be available to view juring the examination.. parang open notes kaya lang *** data base ang notes mo... as long as magaling ka maghanap... makikita mo ang sagot...

tracker, who were your trainers in diet? I was also in batch 5 but unfortunately, i encountered a lot of personal problems during my pst, that's why i was forced to quit. But my trainer then was Carmine, with Jamie and a huge guy as assistants. Carmine was really good. I like her very much. She speaks so clearly and with effortless standard american accent. we were 23 then, but only 3 of us did not certify. I am hoping to get back to pst once i have addressed my problems. please let us know what happens during pst, so we will know what to expect. thanks. :-)

maganda compensation sa paypal pero walang regularization. considered ang agents as project employees, kaya kahit tumagal ka pa ng 6 months di ka parin maregularize. ang nakakaloko lang yung abay na dapat 1 month lang ginawang 3 months. tax free nga pero mas lalong walang job security dahil wala pang employer-employee relationship between eperformax and the agents. example lang, kung nagka sore eyes ka kaya naging absent ka ng 1 wk during abay, tanggal ka kahit may medical certificate ka, at di mo makuha ang "allowance" mo. yun yung hassle dun.

wag na kayo umasa sa regularization dahil project employees lang ang agents. ibig sabihin nun walang separation pay. masyado pinahaba ang abay, ang nangyayari tuloy oras na matanggal ka for whatever reason kahit nakapagtrabaho ka na ng 2 wks for a certain pay period e sorry ka nalang, wala kang back pay dahil wala ka talga makuha. 4 months na nga ang training, at sa 4 months na yun di ka pa considered employee ng eperformax at marami masama implications yun, at kahit makalampas ka ng ng 4 month training, di ka naman maregularize kasi nga project employee ka lang. 1 wk diet, 3wks pst, 90 days abay. wild talaga! di nasunod ang contrata na dapat 30 days ang latest sa abay.

better yet tanong mo nalang sa operations manager nyo kung bakit matagal. hehehe. dare?
dont think too much of regularization. u get benefits din naman like regular employees. there is no such thing as job security. kahit anong company pwede magretrench or magfold up. what employees should be focusing on is to increase their skills and up their experties para kahit na ano mangyari e employable parin sila. not that im saying that u jump ships agad. it is always nice to stay.

nope, i was called up last friday by rizza. hehe.. and i already signed the job offer na yesterday. will be completing my requirements na since august 22 pa naman start ng training. hehe.. long time pa pero ok lang naman. at least will give me time to get the requirements..and to spend time with my friends. 3 months nanaman akong work-bahay neto eh.. :D

there is such a thing as job security. it is in the labor code. once you are a regular employee you have job security. too bad eperformax only hires project employees. you are correct in saying that paypal agents still enjoy some benefits regular employees receive, but you must also know that eperformax did not follow certain stipulations in the contract. abay should have lasted for 30 days the longest, however they changed it and made it 90 days. for 4 months, you remain "pre-employed". that is quite a long time if you ask me. like i said during abay, if you worked for 2 weeks and get terminated before the payday, you won't receive anything. the bottom line is, the contract must be followed. 4 months in a pre-employment status is too much.

@mullah: yup, i got ur point. what, i am just saying is that there is also another way to view job security and that is to keep urself marketable. and i dont know about ur contracts but check if there is a stipulation there about extending/shortening the training period. kasi kung wala, u could file a complaint. un lang. anyway, enjoy ur training! just think of it as a comprehensive preparation for u guys before taking calls. i understand that it could be frustrating, but well, the world is not perfect. nonetheless, welcome to eperformax! hi, i'm an upcoming trainee in this call center, and the schedule for the start of training was supposed to be last nov.21, but then one from the hr told me that the schedule has been moved, and they don't have the exact date yet. Its been 3 weeks now. And the last time, they informed me that its gonna be either the last week of november or first week of december. Does it mean that the start of the training will be January next year na?

I had to leave kasi for personal reasons. Medyo may prob sa family pero once everything gets ironed out I plan to go back. Okay kasi sa Eperformax. Its a small call center, aminado naman sila don pero it definitely is one of the best. Parang Starstruck, every stage may tanggalan. to the higher officers of paypal, do something. this may be something personal between them but for it to be a big issue on the floor and on this forum, this might be something serious. the conference room is always available. why not talk to both of them to settle this isue once and for all.

may kwento ako. i don't know if this relevant or whatever. i'm no longer on paypal. i resigned 2 months ago while still on aBay. coach R is my aBay coach. u know what. coach has a habit na bigla na *** nawawala and no one knows where he is. at first akala namin nsa sleeping room *** or just having his lunch somewhere. then one day while me and my friend from another team is having yosi after lunch, we saw coach left the building and boarded a cab. the question is, saan kaya pumupunta si coach? just then my friend told me that several times nya na si coach nakita umails ng bldg ng ganong time.

i've been hearing several senior agents talking about this issue. na-curious naman ako kaya tningnan ko na rin.

opinion ko naman i think there is something going on naman **** between the coach and the agent. hndi naman lalabas issue na to ng ganito kalaki kung hndi totoo e. it just so happened that i know jamilla and she's confident that it is really true and she has a proof of that.
