:confused: i am wondering, what r the symptoms of pregnancy?
i have a regular period, i have a 30 days cycle but now i am 4 days delayed and i feel different than i usually feels every time i'm going to have my period, my breast is aching (usually) but now my nipples is aching too and naninigas, i don't usually feel that every time i'm going to have my period. http://www.pinoyexchange.com/thinker.gif

Signs and symptoms of pregnancy may include, but are not limited to, nausea with or without vomitting, disturbances in urination, fatigue, cessation of menses, breast changes, vaginal discoloration, increased skin pigmentation and appearance of abdominal lines, and of course, abdominal enlargement. However, these symptoms are not specific to pregnancy, so even if you have them, they may not necessarily mean you're pregnant.

I don't know anyone personally who has clockwork-like menses; sometimes, your period may be delayed as much as 28 days and may still be considered normal. Breast pain, while a sign of pregnancy, may also be seen right before, during, and immediately after menses (you tend to retain more water, that's why your breast is tender). If you're highly suspicious that you're pregnant, get a home pregnancy kit (they're highly accurate) and test yourself using your fist morning urine. Or better yet, consult an ob-gyne for a complete workup.

To you compute for your fertile period:

Observe and write down the length of your menstrual cycle for AT LEAST 8 months. The first fertile day is determined by subtracting 18 days from the shortest cycle, and the last fertile day is determined by subtracting 11 days from the longest cycle. For example, if your cycles run from 24-28 days' interval, the fertile period would extend from the 6th day of your cycle (24-18) through the 17th day (28-11). Then just abstain from sex during those fertile days.

i'm experiencing kasi of what we call 'layag' here in cebu. :confused: the first time was april 1999, it was one week delayed lang. But went on from there. last 2000, i again experienced that and it lasted for six months. :0 now, i'm delayed for 2 months na. but this time, my nipple hardens, and I've got such an excessive outflow of white bloods. Is that a sign of pregnancy? :~(

Your symptoms are not normally signs of pregnancy. Buy a pregnancy kit from any drugstore and check, anyway. If you aren't pregnant, go to an ob-gyne of your choice. Your menstrual period needs to be regulated, and you also need to be checked whether or not you have any underlying gynecologic problem.

Hi Doc Ira!
I'm quite confused right now because I don't know if I should be scared since I still haven't had my period(its already the 29th day of my cycle) and my boyfriend and I had sex about 8 days after the first day of my period last month. Is it possible for me to be pregnant during those days? Am I fertile those days? I hope you could enlighten me because I think my period is delayed I don't know if its because of the stress I'm in lately or maybe just plain 'delayed'. Please reply ASAP. Thanks

I really wouldn't know if you were fertile in those days. Just get a pregnancy test in any drugstore and test yourself.
