@3matrix -- it's CRESCENT services ( part of CITIGROUP - which is affiliated with citibank, the no. 1 bank in the world).. crescen'ts accounts are mostly australian clients so basically it's day shift --- 6am to 3:30am, not bad right.... ciempre accounts are citibank accounts -- inbound accounts servicing existing clients of the company with inbound upselling n din... i guess salary is competitive enough considering the fact na it's day shift, ur at the makati central business district, good working environment din ( kc everyday is dress down and people r cool and friendly)....4 phone verification i think it's 14k, for customer solutions offcr it's 16k --- but a reminder there is a bond for 1 yr ... it's up to you....that's all i know...
mugukiller
Jul 10, 2005, 03:38 PM
fyi... that bond is P100,000.00 for 1 year...
mesh
Jul 10, 2005, 05:29 PM
^^^ that's right! we had all interviews and exam there, when we were informed about the bond, we didnt accept the offer. supr dali mkapasok with all intervws, exams, etc.. it's not worth it.. imagine a bond with that amount dba?
Rivercel
Jul 12, 2005, 09:10 PM
Pero I guess it's a protection and security n rin for the company kc nga ang pangit n ng trend s call centers nowadays... alam mo yun agents are applying just for the compensation and not looking forward n tumagal s company..... I guess it's not bad first interview mo p lang they'll tell you **** n there is a bond for 1 year -- so if you agree to that then sign up for the job offer if not then decline it.... Pero this is a good company, in fact I can see it more stable than other companies out there....
strangefruit75
Jul 12, 2005, 10:46 PM
yep i agree i guess its for the company's protection na din. since uso sa call center and call center hopping its their prorogative to put a bond that high, anyway training is expensive diba? i guess 100k bond is alright sandali lang naman 1 year specially if you are enjoying your work and stable yun company. most agents look for financial rewards first before considering stability and pressure from work.
ooops...does crescent hire undergrads?

Sa Citigroup HINDI toxic ang environment at trabaho sa production floor kaya hindi kontra manggagawa ang one year minimum stay di tulad sa isang call center na one year ang minimum stay at may high-stress accounts.

Guys, if you are planning to have a career in a call center, don't apply sa Crescent! You'll be wasting one year of your life here. Imagine P100,000 bond for one year for the training daw, and the training really sucks! I am posting this message for my friend who works in Crescent, my friend is afraid to say something about sa company because my friend is not yet done with the bond. Management might terminate my friend and let my friend pay the bond.
Want to know more about this company? It is true that Crescent pays P16,000 as a basic salary but no allowances to compensate for the big tax, so bale and take home mo is P6,300 to P6,500 per cut off. According to my friend, maraming employee ang nagko-complain because yung pay slip nga is anomalous. Hindi clear kung anu-ano ang mga deductions. YUng cut-off date hindi malinaw unlike SYKES or other call centers.
When it comes to management naman, ang dami ring mali. No clear policy when it comes to absences and lates, in other words walang handbook na binibigay sa employees for reference. Imagine, yung friend ko once lang na late sa Crescent pero my friend was given a memo by my friend's TL.
Ah basta, marami pang pangit sa kumpanyang to! Nagsisi nga yung friend ko bakit pa siya lumipat dito from SYKES.
Tushie
Aug 1, 2005, 06:59 AM
anyway... as far as the 6300-6500 expected na yun coz from the very start naman they tell you na about the bond and that walang allowance pa... so ganun nga yung expected kong take home pay per cut off...
hmm... kung galing talaga ng Sykes or other CC na may allowance and commission (plus whopping night diff) ... feel mo talagang parang nag-free fall bigla ang pay mo.. and natural nga sigurong umusok ang tenga't ilong sa galit... :grrr:
pero ang mas ok na basis siguro dito would be the other daytime jobs... mas okay pa din siya lumalabas kaysa sa iba... coz galing din ako sa graveyard shift job... then nung lumipat ako and naghanap ng daytime jobs.. pagdating sa job offer parang  hu-***??? usually ang take home papatak lang ng 4500.. swerte na pag 5500 inabot.. and believe me mas maraming tsismis / office politics pag nasa typical office work ka... mas ok na din yung Avaya lang or callmaster ang inaaway mo't binabalibag... and may "Mute" Button kang mapapaglaruan... pag naiinis ka na sa kausap mo... :rotflmao:

Not sure kung anong team. yeah, P6,500 is not bad, pero if the company cannot justify all those deductions thru a payslip, it's like being cheated right straight in front of you.
In fact marami siyang batchmates na mag-reresign, abangan mo August and September...

i walked-in kaso i backed out coz i dont have any background with banking, finance..credit cards..do i really need to be familiar at least?
how was the training?
the bond is for what? liquidated damages for transferring to another bank's call center or for failing to meet their requirements?
Tushie
Aug 2, 2005, 08:43 PM
product training's good... don't expect much from the voice and accent training. you dont have to know much (or any at all) about banking coz I myself was not really familiar with Banking and Finance :D
the bond... i think it's more of a security measure of Crescent against "piracy" coz you know how agents jump from one CC to another nowadays... they get trained by a certain CC and then they end up not contributing anything to the company coz they were given a "better offer" by another CC. :p
thanx for the "warning" nightowl :) It's a good thing the HR peeps of Crescent know that I co-run a mktg firm as well... so I will certainly bring it to the upper management's attention if there are some discrepancies in the paycheck. :bop:

There's one na demonyita and her name is YNAH!!! I passed the exam and the group interview. During my one-on-one interview, i just approached her (without knowing that she is the one who is going to interview me)and told her that I will be having an interview by 3PM.. Then she told me this exact line, "Just sit there! I know my schedule! I don't have to be reminded!" What a *****y girl! Then, during the interview she kept on saying na, "Are you in a hurry?" and I told her na hindi naman. Then she kept on saying na she knows her schedule and she doesn't have to be reminded. Eh hello? Hindi ko naman siya minamadali noh! Kaya after that interview, hindi na ako umasa.
Physical Description: Kulot and naka ponytail, maputi, and naka-eyeglasses.
If only I can report this to their HR Manager...
Tushie
Aug 4, 2005, 05:34 PM
wala akong kilalang Ynah... pero 2 lang sila sa HR... one's Nikka (she's really nice)... and the other one's Rhea (who looks like the one you described) ... but she's RHEA. :) (or maybe I got her name wrong :rotflmao: ) but she's nice din naman...
izblu, if you can stay naman in a GY-shift job... then DON'T transfer to daytime jobs. :D iisipin mo talaga super baba lang... pero as ive sed b4.. it's a lot better na than the other entry-level daytime jobs out there... :naughty:

There is no CITIGROUP in the Philippines per se. These is actually Crescent Services pero this is their call center division kung baga. The closest you can get in working for Citigroup here in the philippines is Citibank NA. Its Citigroups banking arm.

So what's better in terms of salary and career growth, citibank callcenter libis or makati?
tidus1203
Aug 9, 2005, 05:57 AM
IMO sa Libis mas ok for the ff reasons:
1.) LOCAL CLIENTS. Yep pwedeng pwede pong mag-Tagalog dito as long as of course the client speaks in Tagalog.
2.) The Compensation here is a little bit better still.
3.) The Shift is a little bit better in most cases, although night shift is possible its rare since you handle local clients.
4.) And its CITIBANK and you work for CITIBANK. The one in Makati is Crescent and is not a bank itself. SO pwede kang magkaroon ng banking career while sa Crescent impossible to have a banking career if you so choose.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Citigroup Inc. (NYSE: C)
September 21, 2004
Philippines: Citigroup Strengthens Country Presence by Opening Business Outsourcing Operations
Move to generate fresh employment opportunities and attract valuable foreign exchange through earnings from Citigroup businesses globally
Citigroup, the world’s largest financial services organization, further strengthened its presence in the country with the opening of a Business Process Outsourcing Center in the Philippines.
Wholly-owned subsidiary Crescent Services Pte. Limited will provide business process outsourcing, call-center, and other IT and IT-enabled services to Consumer Group operations of various Citibank and Citigroup entities around the globe.
Crescent Services is expected to add significant fresh employment opportunities to the country as well as bring in valuable foreign exchange through its foreign currency earnings from Citigroup businesses globally.
Incorporated in Singapore, Crescent Services opened its first operational branch in Makati, after securing approvals from the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Phil. Economic Zone Authority and Bureau of Internal Revenue.
In its first phase of operations, Crescent Services will have a capacity for 450 seats, boasting of state-of-the-art technology using the latest in voice telephony. Its offices are also equipped with top-of-the-line training resources.
According to Citibank Philippines Country Business Manager for Global Consumer Group Nina Aguas, the Philippines has always been an important business hub for Citigroup, where it has been a key industry player for the last 102 years: “Crescent Services represents our latest investment in the country, and shows that we are committed to doing business in the Philippines for the long term.”
Anand Chopra, President and CEO of Crescent Services, said the Philippines was a natural choice: “Citigroup was keen to establish a regional business process outsourcing and call-center facility, because of the key advantages that the country offers, such as the large availability of a highly-educated and English-speaking work-force and robust infrastructure.”
He further added that the establishment of a business process outsourcing subsidiary is an integral part of Citigroup’s overall business strategy to create global Centers of Excellence that provide superior quality and consistent customer experience.
For its first client, Crescent Services is looking at Citibank Australia.
Eventually, the Philippine office will service Citigroup entities around the world by providing business process outsourcing and IT-enabled services like call-centers, credit operations, back-office operations, primarily to the Consumer Group.

Even JP Morgan will soon establish a wholly-owned call center in the Philippines this coming 4th. quarter. Initially, it will have 300 seats.
Similar to the Citigroup-Crescent[one and the same] arrangement. The parent company will establish a wholly-owned BPO subsidiary.

Aug 11, 2005, 12:59 PM
It will also redound to higher pay and benefits for employees and higher profit margin for the company since the outsourcer is eliminated. It works for huge companies that already had a hand in the call center business like Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase and Dell[to establish an 800 CSR workforce based at RCBC Plaza in Makati].
I have featured in this forum the very high return-on-sales ratio of several call center companies in the Philippines and I have not factored in the possibility that their books may have been doctored to reflect a lower figure. I have not also pointed out possible sweetheart deals between the outsourcer and its suppliers that are possibly overpriced as a source of underground income that is detrimental to its minority shareholders. I should know...I was a stock broker and a financial analyst. Gathering corporate data short of industrial espionage, interviewing and "kindly interrogating" corporate accountants and CEOs was part of my previous work with a private and a government institution.
For big companies that have a big CSR workforce. It makes practical sense to eliminate the outsourcer. The points above are something that they know of.

in terms of workload, okay lang naman eh. manageable. ;) this is for citiphone ha, customer service. for example you are trained to take savings/intestment concerns, pag yun lang ang naka-deck syo, manageable talaga. mga 30-50 calls on the average. pero they have this new rule na pag hindi kaya ng isang dept yung flow of calls, pwede kang bigyan ng ibang account... so ito yung pahirap. they'll ask you to render mandatory OT. sometimes minimum of 3 hrs a week, mandatory ha. then they'll make you take calls for other accounts. at ang masaklap nito, training ka on the spot. sasabihin lang syo na basahin mo na lang o kaya refer sa ganito o sa ganun. :grrr:
sadly, i am planning to leave the company any time now. kasi in terms of career growth... for me ha, waayy below average ang opportunity. :mecry:
*peace*
management-wise, wala order ang procedure ng pagpromote nila. maglalabas sila ng opening for a certain position then ang application, interview and the like aabutin ng 3-5 months. iaannounce nila na promoted ka then retain mo pa rin yung position for for 2-3 months, hanggang sa mabakante yung position na yun. eh kaya nga nagoopen ng position diba, kasi nabakante na, right? well dito, iba. ibang iba..

hay galing ako na citibank(mismo ha) back office, lagi kaming touch-base sa mga citiphone officer eto yung mga calls (customer service) and ang load ng work e di talaga biro. If you're not ready don't! mahirap yan..
But if you're lucky to be in data, it etc..ok naman.wag lang calls toxic
