i would rather be proven wrong because i really want to make a clean living in a call center doing sales.
any ideas?

the scamming / slamming path to sales success is a terribly short-sighted one. while you might generate a lot of income for a month or two but scammers always get caught since this type of selling always results in customer complaints.
big money in a short amoung of time but termination comes not too far behind as well. i've seen this over and over again during my time with QA before - it's a very stupid cycle but neither the company or their clients will hesitate to remove these types of agents from the center.

it is really up to the agent if he/she wants to be a scammer/slammer (as you term it) just to close a sale. none of the companies around (including those you mentioned) will actually ask you to scam people to make money. each person has his/her own technique of closing a sale. maybe a number of people employ less than ethical techniques for lack of proper training and the right skills for an effective telemarketing stint.
there are reading materials available on being an effective telemarketer. perhaps you can update your skills and try them out so that you don't feel that you need to be a "scammer/slammer" just to make it big in tele-sales.
i wish you all the best.

thanks for the quick reply guys.
but have you seen clean tele-sales agents actually making around 25k per month?
could you give me some tips on how to polish my tele-sales skills so i don't get pulled to the dark side? or could you give me some reading materials, or the places i can find these reading materials, do i have to get a book on tele-sales (if there's one at all).
would you agree that when it comes to succeeding in tele-sales "SCAMMING/SLAMMING IS THE RULE AND CLEAN SELLING IS THE EXCEPTION?"
uy! salamat sa mga reply...inosente pa kasi si lolo eh : )

just to clarify, i'm not saying that people from epixtar and ict scam and slam.
i just mean i've seen people from tele-sales campaigns scamming and slamming.
just to set the record straight.

i was an agent in a non-sales position, earning more than P25k gross per month. it just depends on the account, and on your skills.
i'm sure there are tele-sales agents who can earn much more while employing ethical telemarketing techniques.
