I have many Malaysian friends that I met here in Australia, who, unlike Filipinos, plan to or have gone back to Malaysia after finishing their degree...so my suggestion is to go for it. It seems Malaysians are happy with life and work in Malaysia. Don't only go for the salary, go for the experience. Working abroad opens up many opportunities.

ok daw sa malaysia kasi mas mataas sweldo compared satin (almost 3x) tapos mas mura ang cost of living, relatively. problem lang yung language barrier kasi most malaysians are not fluent in english. syempre yung nasa business district marurunong, pero yung mga nasa labas ang mahihirapan kang kausapin

Im working at Malaysia right now, although nag adjust ako from the start, and still adjusting kasi yung mga ka office mate ko eh indian and chinese, most IT person here in Malaysia are not malay, mostly chinese and indian.
yung mga indian minsan magsalita parang gumugulong an dila, all i can here is "burubudor burubudor burubudor" sa chinese naman, like yung isang chinese salita sya ng salita ng "suspektant" akala ko parang "suspect" nung tinuro nya yung word, "search pattern" pala. :rolleyes:

then experience ko naman sa mga malays, mapapagkamalan ka nilang malay, so kakausapin ka ng malay....

sa food naman, mahal at bibihira ang tindang baboy dito, most of their foods are "halal" i think that means pure, meaning walang baboy, they also have "non-halal" restaurant pero rare and most of them are chinese foods, pero mas ok na yun kaysa malay foods, and most malay foods have curry, sometimes kahit ibat ibang ulam eh lahat eh lasang curry pa rin. sa food gagastos ka ng 5 ringgit (RM) to 30 ringgit and above on one meal. convert to peso eh around x14.3. yung 30 ringgit is fine dining na yun.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halal

excerpt:

<snipped>
The halaal method of slaughtering animals (excluding fish) is to cut through the large arteries in the neck with one swipe of a nonserrated blade and drain all blood from the animal, because as noted above, the consumption of blood itself is forbidden. During the draining of the blood, the animal is not handled until it has fully died. The action of slaughtering an animal is a ritual religious act that is preceded by the words "In the name of God, most gracious, most merciful" (بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ, bismillāh, i-rahman, i-rahīm). It is also common for the words "Praise be upon he who has made you suitable for slaughter [for the purpose of consumption] ("Sibhana man halalaka lil dabh") to be spoken immediately before slaugher instead. In addition, the animal's eyes and ears are checked before slaughter to ensure that the animal is healthy and suitable for slaughter. If the animal is deemed to be healthy, it is first given water to drink (in order to quench its thirst) and is then pointed towards Mecca to be slaughtered. Muslims consider this method of killing the animal to be cleaner and more merciful to the animal. Many animal rights groups contend that this causes unnecessary pain and suffering to the animal when compared to modern methods of animal slaughter, which involve stunning the animal before killing it, which is forbidden in Islam since halaal slaughter requires the animal to be conscious.

Thanks for the info. :) Kakasend ko pa lang ng signed contract thru a courier ngayon and antayin ko pa ang balik nun bago ako mag-process sa POEA at Malaysian Embassy. Question lang po...

My future office will be in Petaling, Jaya. Ikaw san ka ba?

i don't know about the POEA, hindi kasi ako dumaan dyan, i'm just working thru employment pass (EP) ang hinintay ko lang eh yung VISA, which took 3 months nung time ko, kasi kakahigpit lang ng Malaysian embassy noon, pero ngayon balita ko mas maikli na dahil maluwag na. And about the medical, wala ako medical dati, kasi yung office ko talaga eh sa pinas, client lang namin yung malaysia.

sa cyberjaya ako, province na ito, kumbaga sa pinas eh laguna technopark kaya malayo ako sa KL

i think petaling jaya is in selangor, just outside the border of KL. i know someone working sa petaling jaya, IT din, IFCA ka ba?

you can ask me if you need more info, or help when you get here, pero malamang marami nang pinoy sa pupuntahan mong company, and amazingly, yung mga pinoy dito mababait sa mga kapwa pinoy. ganun yata talaga pag nasa ibang bansa :D

isa nga palang payo ko sa yo, when i got here nag taxi ako and it took RM120 or P1,800, and i'm just half way compared sa place mo, what i can suggest is take KLIA transit or KLIA express train, meron sila sa airport
