Meron bang nagwo-work na dito? i need feedback. Their ad said it's guaranteed 22k monthly plus commissions of up to 35k.
They are located at Citibank Centre Building in Paseo de Roxas.
I think they cater to financial companies in the U.S such as Sun West, Ford Motor credit, etc and they need people who are able to structure/ analyze loans just like my job in my current cc.

Hi tikbalangbynite, favor naman po.. are you one of the people from HR? just have a question, pano ba ako mag follow-up ng application ko... i already had my group interview with 3 other applicants and 3 people from the company, after the interview they gave our resumes to another guy who told us that we should recieve a call the following day and if we don't we would be pooled pa for future batches since ang inuuna ata is the batch for the officers... ibig ba sabihin nun eh nde talaga kami natanggap at ayaw lang saming sabihin so we don't get demotivated? pls paki inform naman po ako.. ako lang ata ang nag apply jan na ang source eh GIRLTALK... hehehe!! they were curious what that was.. pls.. am really interested not primarily because of the pay but that is a big thing not to consider but because it's a start-up company...and also, it's near my place... pls pa inform lang po.. thanks!!! will be waiting!!!

Wala bang licensing dito from the US kagaya ng NASD? Simple lang ba ang product training, as in pagkatapos nito eh dapat relax na ang agent in handling calls at hindi na kelangan pa ng "learn by trial and error" on the job while taking in calls?

Hi kaye_taray! I've actually just started with the company but from what I know if you dont get a call back within the week of your initial exam or interview parang malabo na... When did you take the exam ba? And how many interviews did you go through?

i don't know anything about licensing but I have heard that training is a bit challenging. You have to really focus. Although they are pretty lenient and you will pass as long as you show effort. My training will start 1st week of Feb. I think they moved it because they want more people to be part of the 3rd batch. So pwede pa kayong humabol. :D

i got my interview last week mga tuesday... was told to expect a call and if ever na nde kami matawagan we'd be pooled for the next batch since ang ite-train ata for now would be the officers daw... paki tanong naman po... much better to get a negative answer so i won't be waiting in vain and if ever naman na they're still pooling people well i wouldn't mind waiting... i was able to go through the preliminary interview with john and two other interviewers... group interview, we were three applicants na sabay-sabay ininterview... favor naman po..paki sabi na lang sa pmwhat the result of my interview was... kahit negative ok lang!! thanks!! will be waiting!!!

How do we apply for MindBox Solutions? I read here sa thread that the basic salary is at least 22k, aside pa from the night differential and travel allowance, etc. Tama po ba? So bale takehome pay after taxes and SSS contributions is at least 20-22k a month, right?

Leif, PM me your details.
...as for the basic salary, the 22k IS the total --- That includes the allowance and night differential. Total "take home pay" is between 20-21k after taxes. If you want more, work hard! Because you get commissions for every approved loan you handle as well. So that's 22k + commissions. :D

Hindi ko nagets ito. Takehome pay is 20-21 thousand, including the allowances and night diff, after taxes and SSS and Philhealth and Pag-Ibig na ito. So dapat mas less pa ang salary MISMO. How much is the gross salary MISMO? Mga 18k or less ba? So, ano ang 22k? Eh di dapat 20-22k ang net takehome pay INCLUDING the allowances and night diff, after taxes.
Parang ganito kasi. In the call center I just left, the BASIC salary is 12k. Pero ang TAKEHOME pay ko per month is 15,800 to 16,000 pesos, kasi idadagdag mo pa ang night diff (30% of basic salary), and the 3k travel allowance. After taxes na yung takehome, kaya nga NET takehome pay eh. Therefore, the basic salary is always less than the net takehome pay kasi basic salary does not include allowances and night diff, di ba?

3. the examiner will want to take your scratch paper so that he can figure out how you solve problems. so kung obvious sa inyo ang sagot sa #1 hint, work backwards na lang!
madali lang yan once marealize ninyo ang sagot. maiiyak kayo kung bakit ang tagal nyo nagisip.

ok... just to clarify kasi baka magulo explaination ko. 22k is what you're getting TOTAL. Minus taxes, you'll end up with around 20 to 21k. Why? Because the BASIC pay is relatively low, hence the low taxes. BUT management more than made up for it with a hefty allowance. The reason for this is they want their LPs to have more to take home. What's the point of a high basic pay kung patay ka din naman sa tax? As for the breakdown, we'll... hehe... para naman may surpise diba?

...actually, the only useful tip here is number 2. Sorry antonlc but the nationality of the owner has nothing to do with the correct answer. And yes, there IS an answer *hint*. Don't give up and concentrate.

Are there still openings at Mindbox? What types of accounts are handled? Is it purely loan applications processing? I won't mind working on GY but I would prefer an AM shift.
I want to work in an account wherein you will have enough confidence to handle almost all (about 95%) of your calls with utmost confidence. It's so hard that when you receive a call and you don't know what to do because it was not handled well enough during your training for the account.
I have almost 2 months (!) experience working in a call center for a travel account. There's a non-compete clause too. Does that mean I can't transfer? I hope to get out already because my heart can't stop throbbing heavily after the end of my shift.
Thanks.

Hi Talipandas, I can relate to this. This was my problem with my previous account in this call center in Libis. It's so frustrating when you can't do a good job at customer service because you could barely keep up with the procedures and screens because you just breezed over them and were told that you will REALLY learn when you're taking in calls already, by trial and error, and simply by asking veteran agents what to do or say.
Sana itong MindBox Solutions eh relatively simple lang; inbound selling and basic customer service and order taking lang ng mga home loans and related products. Sana wala ditong computing ng cost basis o taxable this or taxable that. Sana pagkatapos ng product training eh kayang kaya nating sagutin mga tanong ng mga callers about forms and procedures kahit nakapikit (at nakangiti) pa tayo. :)

Unfortunately Leif, it's going to be a little more complicated than that. I wish I could give you guys a info that's more detailed but as I haven't started with training yet (it starts on Feb 6), all I can share is what LAs on the floor have been telling me. One thing I feel i should clarify is that there is NO SELLING. The clients that we get have already been sold loans and now need help structuring a loan that will fit their needs... and structuring loans is the bulk of the work of a Loans Analyst. this is done by gathering information such as credit history, etc.
And since you are doing the client a "favor", they're more than willing to cooperate. So irate clients over the phone are practically non-existent. :D
And lahat naman ng LAs dito nakangiti pa din after their shift. *okay*

Ibig sabihin merong computations dito ng interest? Eh cost basis and stuff like that? Meron din bang tax computations dito? Meron bang tax consequences ang pagrestructure ng home loans? Kasi kung meron, malamang merong tax computations nga dito.

Dress code? Nah. Supposedly it's business casual but the Analysts are all dressed in jeans. Management doesn't have a strict policy regarding this from what I gather since they understand that it's kinda silly to aks your employees to dress to the nines when you're working a 12mid to 10am shift. :)

Otherwise it's not a problem.
Neutral is always better. If you don't have an accent, don't try to fake it. More than that, we are looking for people who are assertive, confident, analytical and creative. As a tip for interviews, speak clearly and with conviction. If we can't even hear or understand you, that's an automatic F. I know this is going to sound cliche, but just be yourself. :D

Thanks kaye. My main issue with training is that it's at night. Di kasi ako sanay mag night-shift... haha. How'd it go with the company I recommended, did you try out there? Anyway, good luck with Shell. I'm guessing you're going through addforce since you mentioned Malaysians were running it? Anyway, they're nice people. I tried Shell too, sabay ng Mindbox, but in the end I chose the latter since it seemed more in line with my skills. Pero minsan naiisip ko na kung nag-shell ako, dayshift sana ako... hahaha. :D

Bluetooth, thanks for inquiring. Please back read. You don't have to dig that deep since the details regarding undergrad applicants are on this page <page 2>. As for hiring process, there are 4 stages: 1) preliminary exam, initial interview, interview with either the country or HR manager or with them both and lastly, an interview with the CEO via phone. This takes about 2 days total. Tips? Be assertive, brush up on grammar, mind your consonant and vowel sounds, be assertive, don't even try to fake an accent, speak naturally, be assertive, be punctual (one thing I've noticed with applicants these days is that they seem to think coming on time is not an issue. trust me, it is) and did I mention be assertive? Be confident guys, look your interviewer in the eye and try not to go "uhmmm" that much. AND please, wag kayong magtetext sa harap ko or any other interviewer DURING the interview. I've flunked 2 people because of that. A little professionalism and respect can go a long way. whookay... this is starting to sound like a rant. Mukhang stressed out na ako sa training. haha... Oh pahabol, sa exam: concentrate. There IS an answer to that question. Anyway, good luck Bluetooth. I hope to see you with the next bacth of trainees soon.
If you guys have any other questions, post lang or PM. :)

Ok now for some answers...
- As far as I know walang age limit
- gentle05, yes please back read. Come on guys, 2 pages pa nga lang tong thread na to eh... hehehe. But I'm sorry, pero yung breakdown? Surprise na lang yun. You'll know when you get the job offer. :D
- Shift is from 12midnight to 10am with a daily mandatory 1 hour overtime (this is paid)
- And yes, those stages are in order; if you fail one, you dont proceed to the next. But why are we talking about failing? Kayang kaya nyo to! :D
- tikbalangbynite: madami bang chicks sa mindbox? ---> tol di ka pa din nadadala? May pending ka pang kaso from Eperf diba? hehehehe.... :P Musta guy:girl ratio dyan sa HSBC?
...Last day of training ko later. The final exam. Wish me luck guys! :D

...well, I wouldn't say you're out already. The reason why they didnt give you a specific date could be because the Country Manager is out of the country at the moment and he will be for the next 2 weeks. How do you think it went?

Inviting all interested Peeps out there! Mindbox Solutions Inc. is still looking for people interested to work in Makati, Paseo de Roxas, CitiCentre (beside Citibank bldg.), 16th Flr. SHould you have any concerns, let me know. I will be checking this forum from time to time.
Guys, there are only a handful of peeps so far so hurry up! you know the advantages of being a pioneer. Why not try it out?
nweys, to answer some of the questions, we are just starting so we dont accept part timers yet. maybe when most things have been established.
As for the incentive question, let's just say, its similar in a way to other call centers, if you work hard, you'll get what you want. And yes, it may reach or even excedd figures you can imagine.
SHift? So far, isa pa lang.. of course when we grow.. magkakaron na ng shifting.
That's it for now guys! I hope I fed those hungry thoughts of yours with something.

welcome JPSJR!
Kulitan nyo din yan mga kids! mataas na yan sa mindbox! I'm one of his padawan learners. hehehe...
As for the questions...
Gleech, there are no "CSRs" at mindbox. And what we do IS business processing. People here are Loans Analysts. we develop home loan programs for potential borrowers. So yes, the phone is still an integral part of the job because it's how we commnicate with them. For an idea of what we do and how "crazy" it can be here, watch the movie "Boiler Room" (although those guys dealt with stocks and we're not breaking any laws. hehe). It's not for the faint of heart. Even I sometimes break down when I'm dealing with a complex file.
And yes, from what i understand Mindbox is looking for QA people. BUT here's the thing... they want everybody to start as a Loans Analyst to get an idea of what the job is like. Once you've proven yourself, then you move to whatever position you wanted/is suited for you. At least that's the plan. But with there being less than 20 people on the floor right now, chances for growth are definitely high.

Kaye! Sige apply ka uli... Hiring pa din naman eh. :)
Guys, tip lang sa test. PLEASE make sure that your solution is clear. Don't "solve" it in your head and just write the answer on the paper given. And please make sure that when the "girl from HR" as some people who have PMed me lovingly call her. Guys she's a nice girl (Her name is Marie by the way), but she's fed up by people who cheat on the exam, people who have gotten leakage as to who owns the damn monkey and think that they can get away with making half-assed drawings of houses, labeling them and then out of nowhere saying that this guy owns the monkey. So please make sure that your solution makes sense and that you can explain it.
And please, WRITE THE TIME you started and the time you finished on the space provided. Do not wait for her to come and get your papers. Submit it as soon as you finish. We prefer people who dont need to be guided and assisted through everything. There are people who have failed the exam because they sat there waiting for someone to come back and get their papers and ended up "exceeding" the time limit. Psst... here's a tip... It's another test -- we're checking if you have any initiative.
Good luck to everyone planning to apply! :D

Hi there! Unfortunately we dont have any TSR posts. But here's a list of what we're looking for:
Loan Processors
Java Programmer
Receptionist
Marketing Manager
Quality Assurance Associate
Team Leader - Quality Assurance
Team Leader - Operations
Operations Manager
Accent Coach/ Accent Trainer
Process Excellence Manager
Maybe there's one in that list that will fit your qualifications. Again, for Loans Analysts/Processors, no banking or financial experience is required. We will train you (or rather jpsjr will train you hehe).

Yes, the work can be hard but if you are smart and creative, it should be a breeze and you will definitely thrive. We want people who have initiative and are not afraid of a challenge. If you are hardworking, results-driven, and have a mind for analysis, then you should definitely try us out. Warning though, this really is not for everyone.
Also, with this being a start-up company, there is a lot of room for growth and advancement. So once you get the hang of things and show that you can do it, there are a lot of opportunities available to you.
If you're applying, be sure to note that you heard about Mindbox through Pinoyexchange when you fill out the application and I'll put in a good word for you. Good luck and hope to see you on the floor. :D

Not a problem. People who are still employed and get hired by Mindbox are usually given time to resolve whatever business they have and make a graceful exit from their current workplace. :)
Again, when you apply, you can just say that you were referred by or you found out about the company through Pinoyexchange.com. This will help us keep our records accurate. Plus, I make sure to put in a good word for pexers. :)

I'm guessing you're from chase, right? And yes, while we dont require a financial background or experience from new people, I think it would be an advantage because you would be already familiar with some of the things we deal with. :)

Yes, we do have a 10-hour work shift, but time flies because you find yourself doing so many things and your mind is always active.
Well, it depends on your definition of "toxic" :D
For me, the biggest cause of stress is dealing with borrowers who are getting frustrated if there are delays in their loans.
However, the good thing about this job is that this isn't a job where you are expected to just sit there, take their crap, and smile. Just tell them what's going on and just offer reassurance, after all, they are the ones who need this and we are doing them a favor.
It can get pretty draining if you are handling a lot of files, which is the case right now because we are still building our manpower base, but at the end of the day we can all still smile. Plus, every now and then management is kind enough to take us on a night out or an out of town trip to de-stress, all expense paid! :D
This is a job for you if you are the type who enjoys analysis and have no problem taking charge, because you are partly advising people on how to manage their finances. It would also help if you are assertive and have an eye for detail.

hi :) madalas ako makarecive ng email from mindbox. fresh grad ako with a degree in psychology and position available is recruitment officer. pero wala kasing naka indicate if fresh grads are encouraged to apply for this position. and whatdyou mean by the description "Must be amenable to shifting schedules including graveyard shifts and working on holidays" you mean kahit xmas work parin ang hr dept nyo? thanks for answering :)
As far as I know, there's no issue if you're a fresh grad, as long as you pass the test and the interviews. You can expect to work on most Philippine holidays but management is considerate and looks into the cultural significance of holidays. If they find that they can spare us that day, then we might just be able to get the day off. For example, our country manager was able to get us Holy Friday off even though the US office was open (and gave us a trip to boot!). Another plus is that weekends are definitely free. :D

weekends are free? great! kasi im also applying for my masters. partime lang naman and hopefully ma-balance ko work and school. im planning to study during saturdays kasi. uhm... :hmm: question ulit, how's the culture in mindbox? especially sa hr department nyo? i suppose you are in a recruitment position? correct me if im wrong, bakit parang pang-csr din ang job sa HR? :wondering::)

I applied here at Mindbox Solutions in early February. I wasn't accepted, although I aced the "monkey" exam in just 20 minutes when others take about an hour.
The recruiting guy (who looked like he had just had a facial) asked me to explain my answer and how I got the solution. Since I did not list down the step-by-step procedure as I went along, I naturally couldn't explain it, as essentially I solved it in my head although I did write on scratch paper.
I was then ushered into the General Manager/Site Manager's office (he was an Indian guy), who told me he would fax my resume to his boss in the US and teleconference with the latter as to whether to hire me or not. He asked me a few questions, which I answered with some difficulty as he had a thick Indian accent.
Maybe I am sourgraping, but I wasn't so impressed with Mindbox Solutions since they didn't seem to have any HR staff, rooms, or offices--I had my test AND interviews there on the operations floor. Citibank Tower also looked and felt 'tired' and 'old'. I sort of felt the same aura/ambience inside the Mindbox premises. (That must have somehow affected my 'desire' to get hired.)

BTW, I think jovhelle is from Convergys or Peoplesupport, not JP Morgan Chase. I honestly can't see why, if she is from JPMC, she would leave a job that is 80% analytical office work and only 20% outgoing investigatory phone calls for a standard call center job with AHT, metrics, irate customers, and queueing. (Plus the fact that at JP Morgan Chase's fraud RECOVERY analyst account, the pay is definitely nothing to sneeze at.)
Sorry, I just couldn't help it.

Just had a facial? Man, that's funny. The guy's my friend and now that I think about it...:rotflmao:
I'm sorry but I can't help but think that you wouldn't be feeling this way had you been accepted. Comments about the number of HR people and the current office set up? Two words: Start-up company. When you applied in February, there were less than 10 Loans Analysts on the floor. What would be the point of having a large complement of HR people when your operations staff is currently this size?
Management can be quite picky about the people they hire. The test is not the only basis for acceptance (come on man, I know even you know this). Now, I will be the first to admit that, at least from my perspective, management may have passed on some brilliant people but at the end of the day, that's their preprogative. Since then, there have only been 5 or so people added to the roster and trust me, this isn't because we have a shortage of applicants.
As for your comments about the Manager, I don't understand how his accent factors into anything. I myself did not have any problems during my interview and when I talk to him now (ok, maybe a little... haha :D). If you didn't understand what he was saying during your interview, you could've simply asked him to repeat it. But considering the nature of the job, if you had trouble with his accent, then you may have difficulty adjusting once you hit the floor because we deal with a lot of people and encounter a lot of different accents.
And yes, I have heard about Chase (I have a friend with Fraud Analysis) and their offer is definitely competitive. The way you described your work there is practically the same as what we do but instead of fraud analysis, we do loan analysis. So if johvelle does jump ship and decides to join us, she won't be leaving for a "standard call center job" as you call it (although I don't understand why you feel so strongly against "standard call center jobs" ).
Just setting matters straight. :)

Ok... I think I should set something straight. Yes, we are looking to fill other positions BUT here's the thing, everybody has to start as a Loans Analyst. So whatever benefits/paycheck that Mindbox guarantees for Loan Analysts (as discussed in the previous posts) will most likely be the same benefits your friend will be getting.
This doesn't mean that someone's previous expereience/position is disregarded. Management just wants everybody to be well versed in the process before they become TLs, QAs and what-have-yous. So yes, in a way, here at Mindbox, everyone's on a level playing ground. :)
Again, if you found out about Mindbox through PEX, please indicate that in the form that the HR people give you when you apply. I'm not sure if not a lot of pexers are applying or they're just not saying they're pexers. :(

just a question...
i'm a fresh grad and i've been jobhunting since like forever (hehe oa naman). anyway, it seems na marami talagang openings ang call center industry. actually at first, takot ako kasi they say na may bias daw ang ibang companies sa call center background. totoo ba? parang walang experience din kasi. pero from what i've been reading, ok naman at hindi naman simpleng hotline lang.
and also, the salary is a big factor especially we need the money right now. siyempre i'd want to help in the finances at home kaya gusto ko na magwork agad.
so sa haba ng intro ko, my questions are:
1. totoo ba *** bias against CC background if ever i plan to shift careers in the future?
2. ano ba ok? im choosing b/w MINDBOX, BRANDERS, JPMC... (sorry alam kong Mindbox thread 'to...) kahit PROs n CONs lang ng 3...
i hope masagot nyo and your help will be appreciated. thanks so much! :)

Graduating ako this summer kaya naman di pako pwede, mag graduate daw muna ako. Although ilang weeks na lang na lang yun, sabi ng HR hintayin ko na matapos ko muna college.. sigh.. gusto ko pa naman dito. so ayun, apply ako sa ibang call center. 1day process lang sa eperf kaya job offer agad :)

I'm really sorry to hear that but I do know some people here who don't have degrees yet and some of them are, at least from what I've gathered, very close to becoming TLs. So while yes, they may prefer people with degrees, it's not entirely impossible for someone who hasn't graduated from college to get hired.

sbi ng friend ko na nagwwork ** 12k lang daw *** basic ng mindbox...so d pala true na 22k ang monthly salary ** like what they claim sa website nila :(
It depends. As far as i know (and I've posted this before), the standard offer is 22k TOTAL; this your basic salary PLUS several allowances. I think the reason for this is to make sure that taxes don't get a huge chunk of your salary (as you guys well know, the higher the BASIC pay, the higher your taxes). The 22k HOWEVER does not include your performance bonuses.
Guys, I don't want to sound like a jerk or anything (workday off to a bad start) but please please PLEASE worry about the salary when you get to the point where you're actually being offered a position. I know somebody already leaked the answer to the exam here (which btw, was not a brilliant move to whoever leaked it because management has changed the exam to something much harder and are now much stricter when it comes to checking solutions, and got me in trouble because I was suspected of being the one who leaked it out, thank you very effin' much) but the pass rate is still very low (tip: please take time to actually read and analyze the exam; it is not a trick question, there is an answer and make sure whatever you put in there, you can back up with a decent solution). Once you're in the country manager's office and you're not happy with the figures that are being offered, that's when you should start worrying and complaining about it. I know most of us shop around and only want to go where the salary and work conditions are really high and good but I just don't see the point of complaining about the salary unless you've already passed the interviews and you know what is being offered.
kirs10qt, for the job description, please back read na lang or check out the website, www.mindboxsolution.com. But generally, your job is to either help people find a home loan program for their situation (if you land in consulting) and then process their paperwork (if you land in processing; which I am a part of). I'm not sure what they do exactly in funding because i've never been part of that department. So basically, it's more administrative/desk work especially if you land in processing. But let me tell you that the job is not for the weak of heart and is no way easy. If you are, however, up to a mentally stimulating and challenging job, then you just might find a place here.

TESTIMONIAL:
The first time I entered a call center was a disaster.
I promised myself that I wont work on a Call Center again.
I was traumatized and do not want to hear or see a call center again so I locked myself in my room for 6 straight months.
But when my friend told me that a new company is in need of sales reps and it is not a call center I ignored it and still felt not working and desperate.
Then suddenly my nephew approached me and said, "tito pogi wala na po ako pang milk and paano na po yung mga breakfast friends mo? nasaan na sila?"
I was enlightened. Then I packed my things, printed my resume and proceeded to this great company named OSRP with no meaning at all.
I was lucky I got hired but started to realize that it is a Call Center but then realized that it wasnt cause the company is a "Back Office".
OSRP really changed my life, they do not practise rotten "Call Center" environment. They support and loved their employees too much I can even feel the company value me as their employee.
OSRP ROCKS
OSRP RULES
HAIL TO OSRP
I LOVE OSRP

i would like to ask something else (though i'm not sure if this has been answered): 1) what's the least "late" shift here @ mindbox? 2) do you guys have weekend off? 3) are you following US holidays? 4) gaano katagal ang palitan ng shifts dito? that's all for now.

Hi Rivercel! It's been around for less than a year. If I remember my facts correctly, I think they set up business last August 2005 and started operations October.

Hi. I've been reading the previous posts, and I'd just like to clarify something, kasi medyo naguguluhan ako. :)
tikbalangbynite said that although there are positions for TLs, Jr. Executives, QAs etc, ideally the people the company would hire will start off as Loan Analyst so they can get the feel of the support/company.
I submitted my resume and am scheduled for an interview next week to evaluate what would be the best position for me. I presume I'll also be taking the exam na din. My question is, regardless of what position I want to apply for, should I pass the exam, the interview and whatever else I'll have to go through, there's a bigger possibility that I'll end up as a Loan Analyst? And if that happens, I'll have to stay in that position for 6 months before I can get into another position/level?
Thanks in advance for any reply. Mukhang maganda naman feedback ng ibang nakausap ko na nag try sa Mindbox. I'm really interested in getting a QA position...

hi! just new here, i've been trying to look for some info about mindbox (got emails from jobstreet regarding mindbox.. and the stated salary was really inviting..) currently, i'm a research analyst in a company here in makati.. after reading ur feedbacks about mindbox, i'm planning to apply as loans analyst, probably next week.. and also, what encourages me to try here is that work is non-boring & non-repetitive.. ;) by the way, got some questions..
a) do u have work on weekends (& phil holidays.. particularly christmas & new year's day)? :D
b) fixed shift timings (as indicated in job openings announcement)? are all employees work on a GY shift?
thanks in advance.. *okay*

Tiks was just transferred to the another department and it looks like he hasn't posted for a while now...must be very busy in funding:lol:
I'm sick today so I have time to browse around :)
i would like to ask something else (though i'm not sure if this has been answered): 1) what's the least "late" shift here @ mindbox? 2) do you guys have weekend off? 3) are you following US holidays? 4) gaano katagal ang palitan ng shifts dito? that's all for now.
1) for operations, our shifts are 11p-9a and 12mn-10a (10 hour shifts, he extra hour is paid ot) 2) we all have weekends off 3)yes we follow us holidays (no work if it is a us holiday, but i think we're still paid for it)
I guess this also covers cdrf12's questions, and only hr (about 2 people) are on the day shift. Yes the job is not boring and not repetitive but the stress factor is high (especially if you end up in processing).
to kian_kone, if you applied for an ops job, then yes you'll become a loans analyst (we havent had a walk-in tl yet.) promotions are on a per need basis, recently promoted tl's just have 4-5 months tenure w the company.
But our tl's are totally diff from reg call center tl's. you'll still do the same job plus the added responsibility of looking out for other people. although come to think of it, our "QA's" we're hired as QA's contrary to "policy".

bgbdbstrd, thanks for respondin'. another question that i have would be on the stress factor.. on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the highest gaano ka-high ang stress factor jan? as in, sasabog ba talaga utak mo jan, hehe. i'd appreciate it if you can give me some specifics. thanks.

souljah/cdrf12: check out my post in the other mindbox thread about "stress". how stressful the job is would really be dependent on you. you can sit back and do nothing (thereby no stress) and wish that no one notices you so you wont get fired. but if you just do your job, there are times its 3, other times 7-9. it would also depend on what position you'll end up in. the job would normally require you to think outside of the box while operating within guidelines. the stress is more like the ones you get when you do logical puzzles or doing calculus (although we dont deal with calculus here).
and for the hours, that would be 10 hr minimum.. sometimes i end up doing 11-13 hrs.
kaye_taray: It looks like tiks is still busy, i guess its really difficult being a hunk (ei tiks! = )), but i wouldnt know that. (but he posted in the other thread???), I'll just inform him that you're looking for him... ; )

bgbdbstrd... thanks for covering for me bro. It's Sunday and i'm in the office again in preparation for Monday's tasks. Ikaw kasi dude, dami kulang ng file na sinubmit mo for review kaya dalawa kami na mommy na umaayos nito today... haha... Kidding. And wag mo naman ako i-buking. Ako lang guy dito sa Funding so obvious agad! :naughty: But yeah, post more often, man!
Anyway... just wanted to add my two cents... Stress level? It varies. When i was a a consultant and later on a processor, there were days when I had so much free time that I would usually start my day by zoning out and just staring at my screen for 2 hours (hehe). Of course, there were days when there's just so many things to do that I can't even take a 15 minute break. With regards to customers, while I have heard of horror stories from my colleagues, I personally have never had any serious problems with my borrowers. In most cases, I'd be on the phone for over an hour with them and in that time, only 15 minutes was used to discuss the loan -- the rest, well we're just talking about how our day went. So I guess on most days, I'd say the stress factor is below 5.
Ah, but funding... that's a whole different story. The fact that I seldom have a chance to post here is a reflection of how busy I've been. On the plus side, I think I've lost weight because I haven't had time to take my lunch breaks. haha... :D
To clairefink... Training takes about 2 weeks.
To melissa99... Mindbox does not have "tech support". The starting position will always be Loans Analyst if you're planning to join the operations team. You can land in one of 3 departments: Consulting, Processing and Funding. And yes, the starting gross pay usually is 22k. :) As long as you can crunch numbers, do paperwork and don't mind working night shift, then you might want to give us a try.
to kian_kone, if you applied for an ops job, then yes you'll become a loans analyst (we havent had a walk-in tl yet.) promotions are on a per need basis, recently promoted tl's just have 4-5 months tenure w the company.

I know bro, the last week was just too tumultuous for me, esp outside work. i already learned to live with that nature of a processor's job. Heck, we're like E.R. M.D.'s in that respect. I'd still be whole and unshaken whatever happens to diego. It's just that I feel a bit guilty that I'm enjoying that file too much (best experience I've had as a processor, honestly)and we're not making anything out of it (worst case scenario). bottomline is, it is still about the moolah. You know me, i dont give up easily. Sometimes, I just can't contain my relentless nature.;)

why say "we are not here to teach" when you are inviting/encouraging fresh grads to apply or when you say that "training you from scratch" and when it is the responsibilty of an organization to train its people (rather say qualifiers)?

^^Unfortunately, as much as I'd like to, I can't answer for everyone in the company. Hi! kriemh
i have to admit, the culture in mindbox would take time to adjust to. unlike call centers, and ive been in a couple, we are not spoon-fed here. in that respect, (and believe me i could understand your friend's sentiment), we are not taught but rather, we learn on our own. I dont know the circumstance why the "higher person" said it or what the context is, but for a mindbox employee, that is what is meant by "we're not here to teach". as tiks said, we learn together.
As far as how it was told to your friend, I guess I cant argue with it.

kriemh, maintain that independence and self-persevering attitude. This country needs people like you, if there is a glimpse of hope left for us. I really feel that a lot of people lose that spirit right after stepping into a corporate workplace, settling to become clockwork automatons, becoming lost amidst the fleeting "necessities of life".

WHO OWNS THE CHOW-CHOW?
Screening at Mindbox? Is it reasonable?
I'm just wondering, is the logical ordering test a reasonable tool for screening applicants if it's the only thing that MindBox is relying on to measure mental capacity? is it effective? From what I know, if you don't pass the test, you dont get to the next phase of the screening (which is a personality test).
For HR it may be efficient and easy to give the test because checking the result only takes a minute or so. But is there a good probability that some people with good potentials are left out just because their answer to a single, long test question is incorrect?
Obviously, the test is far from being a comprehensive IQ test. It only covers logic! What about abstract reasoning, language comprehension, and other factors that also measure mental capacity?
And the test only offers a single problem to solve -- If you make even one small mistake in your solution, you will less likely find out who owns the darn dog, and you're done for. You'll get a BIG ZERO and you’ll get a nice small slip with a note saying MindBox's gratitude for at least trying. They don't even offer a chance to re-apply even after a very long period! Other well-known BPOs allow reapplications after 3-6 months.
Oh, well. I guess MindBox expects that the local manpower pool could churn out enough good "CHOW-CHOW seekers" to fill up their seats in the long run.
What do you guys think?
<soul_jah>
Jul 24, 2006, 10:28 PM
@shi_zilin... i agree with you on that. just imagine, ang daming gustong pumasok sa mindbox kasi it's a BPO and and offshore company that can provide a future for it's aspiring applicants tapos babagsak lang sa isang logic test.. heck, even those who applied in jpmorgan would think na napaka-bizaare ng application procedure nila.. just my 2 cents.
OHNO!

Do you want to practice how to solve logical ordering problems that are similar to "Who Owns the Monkey"?
There's one site on the web that I found that shows the same kind of problem, which has the same, exact clues, but with different nationalities, animals, drinks, etc. This version is called "Who owns the Zebra." The webpage also shows a link to a separate page that shows the answer and a brief description on how the problem was solved. There are also other interesting logic problems which you might want to try. Here's the link:
http://www.geocities.com/heartland/plains/4484/lp9701s.htm
And for those guy's who really want to get serious on practicing, here's another link that shows a similar, but simpler type of logical ordering problem:
http://www.geocities.com/heartland/plains/4484/lp9701s.htm
This site shows a more detailed and systematic way of finding the answer. It's long but note that if you're applying at Mindbox, providing a good solution is as important as giving the right answer.
Enjoy and good luck! Thank me later if you pass. :bop:

Do you want to practice how to solve logical ordering problems that are similar to "Who Owns the Monkey"?
There's one site on the web that I found that shows the same kind of problem, which has the same, exact clues, but with different nationalities, animals, drinks, etc. This version is called "Who owns the Zebra." The webpage also shows a link to a separate page that shows the answer and a brief description on how the problem was solved. There are also other interesting logic problems which you might want to try. Here's the link:

Yep. I "practiced" on these puzzles before I took the exam so I think this is a good tip. :)
Good luck to all those planning to apply!

here's the process at mb.
intial screening, EXAM!, personality exam, HR MGR interview, and the Country Mgr.
tips:
be urself. be confident. background in sales is a plus.
prepare for the exam. research on logic problem solving.
Exam is very hard or very easy for some.
think, think, think.. , dont be confused when takng the xam. READ carefully.
and of course, bear in mind the duties and responsibilities of a loans analyst and be prepared for it.
goodluck.

there is something seriously wrong with this company. there is no way to reconcile data indicating an attrition rate of around 70%.

in the last training batch, out of 10, 7 left even before training was over.

hello tikbalangbynite.. i have backread from page 6 (goodness, halatang curious talaga sa mindbox hehe) :D
i dont mind mentally challenging jobs as long as it's equally rewarding..
what did you mean when you said this is not 'for the faint of heart"?.. :depressed: purpose of the question being: I know I'm good .. really good as far as performance is concerned.. I just cant stand it if my efforts are not given the least appreciation that can be decently given.. I hope the company knows how to value the employees.. Just because they're paying quite well does not give any company the right to give nearly inhumane working conditions..

Inbound customer service for home mortgage services IS difficult in ANY call center. I guess that's why 7 out of 10 left the last Mindbox training batch. In my call center, a TL in training already wants to quit (I don't know if she quit already). I have seen their training manual and it's VERY voluminous.

...and a lot of these same people who left have expressed interest in returning. See, these are things that hardly get mentioned.

trust me, this isn't the reason why. i don't wanna go into details as to why a lot of people left.
to focus alert, name those people from mindbox who want to return to the company.

Dude, I don't even work there. I just have friends who do. So I wouldn't know who those people are. Besides, even if i did, why should I spill personal details on a public forum?
Honestly, you sound just like a run-of-the-mill disgruntled ex-employee. Why don't you "go into the details" so we all know?
