How is this (IBS) different from IBM Daksh and other contact centers? What ELSE does it offer?

r_69_e
Mar 24, 2006, 05:30 PM
What's the difference? 1. They're not a call center. ;) (What the hell are we doin here? We're also targeting the callcenter folks) *okay*

2. You'll be doin office work specifically HR (check the services below)

3. Day jobs (though we have one account that is on the night time)

4. Just check out the perks... :D

this is the ad the we will be releasing this weekend...

Mar 25, 2006, 10:26 AM
we're still working on the 1-day processing thingie... as of the moment an application (end to end process) usually takes 1-2 weeks... please bear with us since we're transitioning from hiring 10-20 hires per month to a fully ramping up by May or June.

One this is for sure though, IBS is the BETTER CHOICE!

Thanks!

dphx
Mar 25, 2006, 02:35 PM
10-20 hires a month? That doesn't look good. Anyhow, I'll give it the old college try.

See you on Monday, you guys.

Hi IBMers,

Any plans to extend the time-frame for walk-in applicants like Saturdays or until evenings?

Can applicants who are currently employed be given an option on when to take tests and interviews so that they need not incur any absence in their current employment?

I think my suggestions above will greatly help IBM Business Services in getting applicants who are veterans in the BPO/Contact Services industry.

Hope to join your company by mid-year Dakshman!

btw: In the HR process entry level openings you advertised today in the Manila Bulletin. Is it correct to assume that the different vacancies in that HR process account have different entry level salaries?

Thank you!

I suggest you call and look for Donna then set an appointment first. We're still working on a recruitment model that's fit for ramp hiring.

Can't discuss that much about the salary but it is one of the highest for fresh grads (benchmarking it against call centers) - I'm talking about the total compensation and benefits package here.

Thanks!

Basta pag ready na yung mass-hiring sabihin niyo lang sa amin at papadala na kami ng resume kay Dakshman. Marami akong kaibigang mga over-stressed but dedicated contact center professionals from the industry na kakayagin dyan - ofcourse by resigning properly[30-day notice] from our current employers[I hope you'll give us that time allowance once we sign our contracts - AYAW NAMIN SA ACCENTURE DAHIL ALAM NAMIN NA MAS-PRO-LABOR ANG IBM! Gusto namin mag-back office work na lang...sa IBM-Services!

Sana may stack-ranking monthly performance bonus dun dyan tulad sa IBM-Daksh. The advertisement of IBS is better thatn IBM-Daksh since it hits on applicants concern...PAY, BENEFITS and CONCERN FOR LOYAL EMPLOYEES...and also attracts not just fresh grads but tenured BPO workers.

Hindi sa pag-sisipsip pero pag nagsama sina Dakshman at R69e sa isang company siguradong magiging applicant friendly ang hiring process....malay natin baka magkaroon rin ng hiring bonus at premium for work experience.

In call centers they have CSR TSR etc. Here in IBS instead of agents as our entry level... We have HR Process Owners. As long as you're willing to do HR work you can be qualified. Then from there we also have programs in other depts/ other IBM companies that you can apply (internally) like sales and marketing, Systems Analyst etc. So no doubt there's growth here. FYI lang ;) In you're case dude... since eng ka... you can take a look at IBM Solutions Delivery... As far as I know from that IBM comp. panay engineering background ang hinahire/mga openings nila dun.

Suggestion well taken... but if we will not do some trials and errors we will not be succesful in putting up a good recruitment process... So this is necessary. Ramping is just a new word in IBS's vocabulary so it takes a lot of work to do some polishing in the process. Please bare with us, in a few weeks it will be ramp-ready and you guys will have a good recuitment experience with us. :)

While waiting...

Just some questions on top of my head:

1. In your own estimate, when will IBS start recruiting, ramp-up style? The week after the Holy Week? Starting May?

2. I was able to reach Ms. Donna earlier and she told me they have yet to find a position that'd match my qualifications. What does this actually mean?

To be honest, I don't know how much longer I can wait for IBS. I also need to get a well-paying job in the soonest time possible. I'm just hoping for the best.

Thanks.*okay*

r_69_e
Apr 6, 2006, 06:38 PM
1. it's in process... I'm thinking May we're good. :)

2. It could be we're looking for someone with a differnet background as yours. Since the actual ramp hasn't started yet.. Your application is being placed in our pool. You'll be called up once we get a hiring ticket... dude what's your background btw?

You can PM me the details of your application so that I could follow up this with donna personally...

Just have to delete some old msgs. ;)

One thing I do notice with your recent hiring ad is that you require people with business writing experience instead of email support. Other companies wanting to have email support CSRs[Sykes, NCO, Daksh, Sutherland, Sitel, Convergys] do not require business writing or email support experience.

When I showed your ad to my email and back office support friends that told me that maybe your email support jobs can give a welcome break from the canned and impersonal emails that we tend to use..or are forced or tempted to use to meet our production quotas. Kung ang voice ay may AHT kami naman ay may EPH[emails per hour]...it is rarely met without substantially degrading our CSAT scores. I was subjected to three business writing trainings and even purchased around three books on business writing to further perfect and improve my skills...most of this knowledge "went out of the window" when we received our product trainings. I just hope that I will be re-studying all my business writing manuals if I get through the gauntlet of your hiring process.

this is great... *okay*

I was just interviewed for this new account of IBS. I would like to share my experience.

While I was waiting for my turn for the interview I overheard this employees of IBS talking, I'm not sure if they we're HR but anyways they said that the first batch of this new account is lucky coz they will be sent to the U.S for training (how true is this r69e)... I said to myself oh hells yeah im going to apply for this one. While in the interview this recruiter said that they're offering much higher for an entry level post not to mention the allowances that they'll give, which includes meal transpo, night differential and hazard. There allowance could reach up to 5-7 k. I said wow! :wow: I'm now for operations interview for an agent level 2 post and they'll give me a call next week. Hay I hope I get in. *okay*

Whoa!

I got hired as an Employee Care Specialist! And I can’t believe how BIG their offer is. I can’t disclose the exact amount coz the HR knows me he he. Anyway the basic pay is good… the best part is the Allowance… Because of this my salary would reach up to 23-25k (hope its ok to divulge this) depending on the shift. Moreover, I already have Health and Dental Insurance plus up to 15.5 months pay!
I would suggest that you Guys apply here, the working environment is very good! I’ll be starting by Mid September! USA here I come! Yey! :bounce:

Yung mid shift malamang may hazard pay dahil uwi nyan mga 10pm to 1 am.

I'M FOR TRAINING na! *okay*

Finally... grabeh, after 3 call center rejects, IBM gave me this opportunity to prove my worth as a potential agent. :)

Hopefully, makayanan ko ang training. I know I can do it, God is with me... all praises and glory to him. :)

Sabi ko nga sa interviewer ko (btw, the people inside are VERY VERY NICE. Even the guard outside :))

It has been a practice here in IBS that whenever we acquire a new account, we send the first batch of process owners/analyst abroad for knowledge transfer. We can't just confirm right now regarding the total # of people who will be sent abroad because the requirements for this account are quite high compared to the other accounts. :)

Anyway... would just like to give a tip to those who are interested to apply that the "WALK-IN" mode of application is the fastest way to apply! :)

To those who made it in IBS,

I'm up for my final interview tomorrow in IBS. What do we usually expect from this aside from the fact that it would be the OM I think who's conducting it?

Thanks! :)

This new account is actually an employee care account, it's like customer care but you get to speak to the clients' employees. This means less irate callers.

Thanks for the tip. I also applied about four weeks ago at IBM Services. Had the initial, exam, then another interview with HR. Sana maayos nyo yung processes dyan sa IBM, proud na proud pa naman si IBMDude, kesyo IBM and all pero ang gulo ng process. Btw, its not an excuse na start up pa lang operations nyo dito sa Pinas, bakit sa Accenture---start up din naman sila ah. *** pa ngang live calls, pero very streamlined and systematic ang kanilang hiring process and I supposed the way they do things as ACC.

Another comment, do'n sa flyers may nakasabi? Be part of the pioneering team and help shape the culture? Bakit wala pa bang established culture ang IBS? Di ba dapat the cultural values between mother company and its unit be the same? Sayang, maganda pa naman benefits as explained sa amin do'n sa 2nd interview sa IBS. Pero kung ganito kagulo, wag na no! Accenture na lang ako. =)

you may have misinterpreted reg's comment. anyway.. with regards to the process, it's not really "magulo"... it's more on the availability of the interviewers and not really the process. we're working into having a one day recruitment process especially for call center agents because as of the moment, our OPS would like to take part in interviewing in order to ensure the quality and fit of the candidates that they'll be hiring. Thanks! :)

Thanks po for the clarification.... Yup I get your point, coz unlike other call centers na HR/Recruitment lang yung hiring process no interaction with OPS.

Yun nga lang, sa Accenture Operations Director po ang final interview do'n at di rin magulo. Yun lang. Sana maayos yung system nyo, para mas maraming ganang mag apply sa inyo. More employment for everyone. =)

Hi guys!

I just finished my final interview earlier and they told me that they'll be calling me today or by tomorrow if I passed. It's a panel interview (3 interviewer).

However, after the typhoon, my cellphone signal (globe) is consistently loosing signal. I believe that some cell sites are currently being fix that was caused by the typhoon. Also, most of the time there are no people at my house if they are trying to call at my landline. I think I'll just give them a call by tomorrow morning to follow-up the status of my interview. Wish me luck guys!!! :toofunny: :rotflmao: *okay*

Well, the official word just got in for me.

I personally went to IBS to follow-up on my status and Sherwin said that Bryan didnt considered my application as Call Center Agent after 2 weeks of waiting for a call. So eventhough I have 15 months of Call Center experience, anything can happen. Thank you IBS for at least giving me a slight chance for employment and I mean it sincerely.

This is it, maybe I'm not an IBM material.

Those who failed can re-apply after 3 months. So don't feel too bad if ever you did not make it the first time around. Try to assess your answers to the interview or what happened. It's not just the communication skills or lenght of experience at the end of the day. :)

Anyway, would like to make an official announcement regarding our new RECRUITMENT SITE in MAKATI.

We got some rooms at REGUS at the 27F of the Enterprise Building Tower 2. If you're interested to apply for any of our openings especially for the call center openings then please drop by at that place from Monday to Friday, 10AM-4PM and take our pre-employment examination.

We'll be there until November. Spread the word especially to those in nearby call centers. Thanks!

I would like to apologize regarding the feedback thingie. Informed the recruiters to send emails to those who failed. Anyway, if ever you may contact Sherwin Marasigan at 9952700 and ask for a feedback, he'll only entertain feedback related questions of those who made it up to the "interview process" (1st, 2nd, final).

The only thing that I can assess is that Bryan offerred me to be an HRIS since I'm an IT graduate and I need to take the IPAT exam. I already took it last June 2006 which I passed the non-IT cut-off.

I failed the IT exam that is why I decided to be a Call Center Agent instead. Who wouldnt be tempted if training might be held in the USA. :)

Can I take the IPAT exam again since its past 3 months?

oo nga kasi kjo rin scheduled for final intrview nung bagyo. never got a call from them again. baka nga yun cell site dun sa min down next day actually GIVE UP na ko with IBS I waited for 2months for this guys. I have the Intrview with Bryan and did the examtapos i failed daw so akala ko finish na then i recieve a call na they reconsidered my application and even considered for a team lead position. EXCITED me nun cuz i know IBM is a good company and IBS has a future in the industry. Tapos after that i made kulit
ms donna i guess she knows me na by name kasi i do followups as in every other day. i was even interviewed by Ms stephanie and fail the me sabi ms donna. only after that called again to report to mr christian daw nung storm

GRABE ang gulo ng recruitment nyo pero i waited kasi pag nakapasok ka ok ka **** with IBM sayang chance pero sawa na me wait Na demoralized ako with the hopes na binigay nyo tapos wala naman yari. i hope that this will not happened to other applicants kasi maganda yun chance to work for ibm.

That is why i gone to accenture kahit mdyo mababa pero my promise for growth csr lang me again pero hoping that thy will trained me for managemnt and the processed took me 2 days they are hiring also in 10's to 20's pero mabilis and offer a very compentative package. when it comes to basic mas mataaas ang IBS but for package i guess accenture is better for long term growth

>maybe u could wait for a few days coz sometimes na-dedelay yung time ng pagtawag nila. Like in my case, i was told that they will call me the day after my initial interview, pero they didnt.. so i expected na wala na yung application ko. after 2 days, i received a call from them and they scheduled me for the final interview and un nga hintay nalang ako ngayon ng job offer.

now, if they failed to call within a week or so, you may just call for follow-up, you could explain ur side why you weren't able to answer the call. It won't hurt naman ***** to make a follow up kesa clueless ka about the status of your application.

Based on the reactions of some applicants in this thread, IBM's hiring process is quite slow.

My friend already had her final interview with IBM and she was told that she passed, that she aced the interviews, that she's in, and that she just have to wait for the offer.

Unfortunately, it has been three weeks and she has not recieved any calls yet. She followed it up with the company's HR, but she was told that her offer is still under approval.

Weird though, her co-applicant, who took the exam and interview at the same time my friend did, was already hired and will be starting in a week.

Bakit po kaya ganun?

hi!

im from IBM-Daksh as a CCS that handles tech. support acct. and i've been working here for almost 1 year (actually it's my first year in Feb, 2007). i'm curious about this company and also i'm willing to apply for any HR position.
