Are you a member of a gym or fitness club? What machines do you use, and how long? Do you weight-train? Do you do aerobics / taebo/ kickboxing / pilates? what do you think is the best workout?

i used to work out at the vvcc gym regularly, but now its just whenever i have time to spare. I do the treadmill or the bike before and after working with weights.

i'm a lifetime member at slimmers world. i usually work out at their binondo branch.i attend the aerobics classes, and spend around 20 minutes each on the stationary bike, treadmill, and stair climber (it's called something else, i just can't recall right now what it is.) i haven't tried working out at other gyms yet, but slimmers world has very nice paramount gym equipments, and competent trainers.

well...i'm not as gym crazy as PePs...but whenever i'm home, i go to Premiere Club in New Manila...great club..first class equipment..but lotsa showbiz crap. Enihu, I spend a lot of time on the cardio machines....i do 30 minutes on the treadmill and on other days, i do 45 minutes on the elliptical machines...sometimes i do even an hour... then i do different reps on the weight machines. depende kasi sa mood ko kung ilan....and now i'm stuck to doing nothing http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif i don't have any motivation.

I just enrolled at in a personalized fitness program at Shape N Dance (just a small gym in Makati)-three times a week!. I started this week and it was very exhilarating!

My workout consisted of 25 minutes warm-up on a stationary bike, treadmill, stepper and this machine that simulates skiing. Then I went through a series of exercises with the trainer (I think I did 16 exercises) that targeted each body part- whew! I started with very light weight first but I guess my aching body (today) proves that it was enough of a workout for me!

50 minutes everyday on my elliptical .. weights every 2 days and 10-15 mins on my torso track every 3 days...

would have joined a gym if i had the time but unfortunately, I don't ..so I settle for home equipment instead... :)

BTW, if you guys want a six-pack or really FLAT tummy, I suggest getting this little machine called the Torso Track from the tv infomercial or www.torsotrack.com (http://www.torsotrack.com) ...my best investment ever!! [next to my elliptical :D] my friends love it too...when they come over, they use it for a couple of minutes and ache for days http://www.pinoyexchange.com/lol.gif

peps, in what ways has your workout helped you achieve your fitness goals (ie, are you trimmer now, more toned, etc)? how long have you been working out 6-7 days a week? do you follow a certain diet too?

I work out at Premiere City Club. Yeah great club..but lotsa showbiz crap. Well on how I work out, I do 30mins on treadmill or that EFX machine with 5 mins cool-down. Then do some sretching. Then work on the lower part of my body. I try different equipments for my lower part..I dunno what they call it. It's like I use 5 kinds of equipments for it. Then I work on the upper part of my body. I use 5 equipments also. Then I do weights for my arms. I do 4 kinds of weight exercises. Then I do abdominal exercises on the floor. Then I go back to the treadmill or that EFX machine for 30 mins also with 5 mins cool-down. Lastly, I do some stretching again. I hope I'll be more buff heheheh. I'm getting vain I think hehhe. I work out 3 times a week. I usually spend 2-3 hours in the gym. Sometimes I attend the Tae-bo class they have in Premiere.

I have not worked out in a commercial gym since around 1995.

I was spending too much money on gym fees, so I quit and bought myself a starter set of bench, bars and around 100lbs of plates a couple of years ago. I work out with weights high-intensity style once or twice a week. For aerobic conditioning I do fast tempo runs of 20-30mins 2-3x a week, and swim whenever I get the chance (1-2x a month).

I also used to throw in a couple of aikido sessions a couple of times a week, but not anymore.

The condo where I live in already has a gym and a pool so that's where I go instead. 3x a week, 2hrs every workout, after which, I hit the pool for some laps to realax the muscles.
Then twice a week, I go to power up in kapitolio

Gym junkie! 2 hours @ a time. 30 minutes in the weight room trying to tone my toothpick arms and 1.5 hours on cardio-vascular work (either an aerobics class or tae bo for one hour and then 30 minutes on the stepper machine). One day a week I forego the cardio workout and do a pilates or yoga class. Other than that, practice for sports...

That's it.

If you're like me (perpetually broke), try jogging around the UP Oval. I jog thrice a week usually at dusk para hinde mainet. Or, sometimes, I bring my rollerblades. KAso, madaming sasakyan dun, lalo na sa harap ng AS and Vinzons. Kaya ingat lang. Then, about twice a month, usually on weekends, sa PowerUP in Tandang Sora.

For the mean time, I'm concentrating on my cardio. I need

Hyatt Regency - Dubai

Grand hyatt- Oman
cybex equipment, precor threadmills - all new equipment

Intercontinental Jeddah
one of the oldest looking gyms ive ever seen though very spacious

Gulf Hotel Bahrain
old equipment though very spacious

Semiramis Intercontinental Cairo
Small Gym with very new equipment

Le Meridien Kuwait
Too small gym very little equipment

Sheraton Kuwait
For a luxury hotel, gym is a joke

Marriot Beirut
Cybex Equipment, Stairmaster, Stepclimber, Threadmills - complete equipment

New York City

New York Sports Clubs
Many locations though gym area is not that big- better to work out before 5pm or after 8pm..some gyms have squash courts

Reebok Club
The best gym Ive seen so far and the most expensive $200+ a month four storey gym complete with climbing wall, indoor pool, squash and racketball courts, running track on roof

Worlds Gym
Best value for money. Very Spacious and a lot of aero equipment.

Los Angeles

California Fitness
Very spacious with indoor pools and racketball courts. Some have indoor basketball/volleyball courts. Cybex and Startrac equipment

Manila

Manila Polo Club
For a high end club, the equipment leaves much to be desired. Not even branded.

Yes. I try to go to the gym for some aero but only when I'm in a pretty good mood. Otherwise, may makakaaway ako. Slimmer's after 5:00pm anyone? You know what I mean.

Ang liit liit na ng aero area, may mga taong, kung gumalaw eh kala mo nag-iisa sila sa isang tennis court. Yes, I know na pag aero dapat full range of motion, pero sana they see to it na di naman nila mahahampas yung mukha ng katabi nila. Yung teacher pa, madalas, pulu-pulupot na yung paa mo sa complexity ng steps nila, wala pa ring paki. Hala! One two three four FIVE six seven eight! pa din ang hirit nila.

So ngayon, I do aero mga twice a week minsan sa Slimmers, minsan dito sa gym na malapit sa amin sa Powerflex. I don't do weights anymore, coz it bores me to death. Pero I do Pilates now. So feeling ko fit pa din ako. :)

But then again, feeling ko lang yata yon.... :D

I work out at the Ayala Country Club Gym. The place was just renovated and is comparable to other high end gyms. I stopped going to the gym after my membership at Clark Hatch expired a couple of years ago and to tell you the truth, I get bored to death doing the gym thing. But since sayang yung membership ko at the country club, I've been persuaded to work out again. I try to go atleast 4 times a week. I do the threadmill for about 15 mins. after stretching prior to the actual work out then wrap up by running on it for another 10 mins. or so. My goal is for toning, not to lose weight, so I lift weights and work on the machines. :D

Hey heartlight! I go to a gym in Tower One mismo. Sa basement 2. It's called Benders & Strands, the same people who own Gold's Gym in Glorietta. The price is kinda steep though but the trainers are good and the equipment is high-tech. The facilities are ok, they even have a salon and a health bar.

Inquire ka na lang, their number is 8485444 :)
