Yup, it never should be advertised in the first place. Connection may get intermittently slow (to no connection at all although very rarely does this happen).

ako i'm one of the unlucky ones. 1995 plan but ONLY f@cking 512kbps... kesyo di pa daw open sa lahat.. so dadpat hindi nila advertise yun..
there is something wrong with plan 1995 accounts. its not something on the hardware side. a lot or plan 1995 subs have their speeds capped at only 512kbps. if you check ppc and tpc, theres also a bunch of 1995 subs reporting that theyre also capped. this is never coincidental. pldt is deliberately limiting our speeds!
afaik, they assign ip ranges for different plans. theyre not switching our ips to the correct range. i have already reported this issue a couple of times and nothing happened. maybe its time for us to file a "mass" complaint to NTC. we can send an email to NTC (better if we do it all at the same time) so they realized that its a big issue. this is a complete rip-off!

Yes, I agree that this is more like FALSE ADVERTISING. That's what you get when the service is monopolized by a big player, and all the other alternatives are much worse in terms of customer service.

Please note that DSL speed is not only dependent on subscription but also on infrastructure and geography.
For instance, if you're house is more than 12,000 ft from a central office (loop or cable length), the chances of you getting anything over 3mbps is close to nil.

Yes I'm fully aware of that, as you go farther from the CO the slower your connection. But the problem is this, if they do an upgrade, all of us should be able to notice it. I know my subscription speed never changed since I got connected.

The issue here is that PLDT keeps advertising bandwidth speed increases that never really happens. They are doing false advertising just to prevent customers from leaving.

Oo nga. Ako rin! I am stuck at 512 kbps and it's sad dahil dapat I'm reaching 1.2Mbps na. =(

Tingnan nyo yung Intel versus AMD.

First I didn't say 150mbps, 100mbps instead, the provider here don't lie, my speed test max. na mabawasan sya ng about 6% sa kanyang target speed, may tsansa pang sumosobra, and it it not impossible to attain this speed they are offering now a 200mbps connection, one more thing myhost country will going to change/changed thier broadcasting system TV, Radio ect to digital and all are hi-visioned, we can watch TV here through net Hi-vision without anylink to antenna, imagine this speed and it is impossible to attain if you've got 50mbps and lower connection, anyway depende pa rin sa site na pupuntahan mo. anyway all the local sites here can provide you GB/ sec. and not Mb/sec. if you have the right connection.

Is this just me?
Everyday pass 9am morning video and audio streams such as from www.cnn.com will start to become very choppy. In yahoo.com and shoutcast.com i cannot even stream something higher than 100 kbps smoothly despite rated bandwidth of 1.5 mbps. In bandwidth test like http://myspeed.visualware.com/?c=_di especially at night I get only around 120 kbps and in torrent sites downloading speed generally is only around 20 kB/s whereas peers from abroad generally can download at 30-50 times faster than that. Worst of all their very unprofessional and without courtesy CSRs pretended to make report and forward your complaints and promise feedbacks within 24-48 hrs but twice got dupe by these so called promises. I am really so angry now with this despicable company PLDT for ruining my day.
Imagine how much information are lost because you cannot watch nor hear video and audio feeds. In www.cnn.com many of these news feeds are only in video streams. How can I watch with this damn DSL thing of PLDT despite paying a world premium price of P1,995 + telephone monthly?

May ad kahapon (29 April) sa newspaper na you can get a free wifi account sa plan 999 ~ up. I inquired sa 171, sabi nung unang operator, free na daw forever yung wifi account from plan 999-up.
Nag-attempt ako mag-register sa My Pad pero tinanong ako if I was okay with paying P99 per month. So, nagtanong ako ulit sa 171 and sabi naman ng second operator, for new subscriptions lang daw.
Meron na bang nakapag-try nito na DSL plan 999?

first, nasa office ka, are they using proxy? they might have block them? its nonsense kasi pati google niblock, so baka hindi problem ng proxy.
second, I think is it problem ng browser?
third, firewall?
Because for me the logic is like this:
If you can internet, oh well thats good, though complicated pag nasa office ka if the computer guy sets some probihited site on your office internet.
ELSE
di ata problem ng DSL pag ganun ata..
THEN
problem siguro yan ng computer browser settings mo.
I have encounter a client na di siya maka enter na HTTPS sites, kahit msn, then you have to type something sa RUN, parairelease yung DLL. then it works na, have a try.
if blinock talaga ng office niyo yung mga site na yan, its reasonable, one thing unreasonable yung google cause most of the data na sinesearch ng mga tao sa google..

need some opinions:
been pldt mydsl personal subscriber since 2000. been thinking of switching broadband connection and/or downgrading plans. as of today our speed is 1.90 mb/s (download) and 0.54 mb/s (upload). actually im quite satisfied with the speed since its installment but i find it too much expensive now (P2200 for dsl + P700 for landline). another thing is we want to get rid of our exisiting pldt landline which is rarely used.
what would we rather do:
- downgrade our existing plan (which btw doesnt exist anymore) to either experience 999 or excite 1995 but im in doubt with the speed difference. most of the pldt technicians ive talked to said that our plan is much, much better compare to the newer plans they have.
- switch to either globe broadband or sky broadband but a skycable technician who recently installed our digibox advised me not to avail of this coz its very slow.
hope anyone here could help me decide on this.
thanks.

Yup, the technician got it right on the money. I guess even their own people know about how slow Sky Broadband is, but still they do nothing. Stay away from Sky Broadband at all cost, unless you will get it for free, if you don't want to take the cost of just getting extremely slow internet.

Document everything, the dates you can't connect, how many calls you make to their support and the people who come to inspect your line. Write a letter and DEMAND a refund.

Is anyone on PLDT MyDSL able to download torrents from thepiratebay? They seem to have blocked the tracker (vip.tracker.thepiratebay.org) although the actual thepiratebay.org website is accessible.
How about Demonoid? I get a blank page when I visit http://www.demonoid.com.
I've just downloaded a torrent from The Pirate Bay -- no problems for me.

Hmm, that's strange. I'll try again once I get home.
Can you browse demonoid.com?

Yes. The site's under maintenance a while ago.

Ok so I called the pldt hotline to upgrade our DSL plan to 2 MBPS(1,995 pesos).....After waiting for about 30 minutes for someone to pick up, we were told that it would take 24 to 48 hours before the whole upgrade takes effect......My question is, is the 24 to 48 hours that they promised us a sure thing or is there a possibility that it would take days or maybe even weeks?

In another note, nag-apply kami sa Plan 990+landline sa PLDT mga 2 months back.

No problem with me too. nakababad nga ako for HD-MKV movies, medyo matagal lang. Tiis lang mababa plan ko eh hehehe.
