For a future employer especially sa mga multinationals, which would probably get hired? An average graduate from the top 4 schools or someone who has 1 year plus relevant work experience (but graduated only from, let's say 5th, 6th, 7th-ranking schools).

the combination of relevant, productive work experience plus good attitude will beat out academic background at least 99% of the time.

I think it depends on what the employer is looking for. Some companies opt to hire fresh graduates so that they can train them from scratch and build them in the company. Usually, graduates from the big 4 are prioritized.
There are also some instances that they need people with experience in the work especially if it's needed fast. But, of course, the experience should be valid. I am not sure if 1-year experience is enough.

You're comparing apples and oranges. 1yr+ work experience will make you 1yr+ older than a fresh grad. Some companies really want fresh grads and some companies want 1yr+ experience.
From my experience though, the top companies want both top academics and top work experience. When they hire entry level, they prefer top school grads.
Small to medium companies though, prefer experienced personnel (probably because they can't afford to hire newbies). This also often means low salaries.

I am an undergraduate. I will be a fresh grad by December 2006. I am asking if my relevant work experience will make me competitive with the graduates of Ateneo, UP, and La Salle given that I am not a graduate from those schools. I was once from those schools but I transfered to another school due to academic and financial complications.
So I guess, it's basically comparing an overripe orange (I'm 23) with a work experience to a premium fresh orange... :)
