What's it like working in DBP (culture, salary etc)? Pareho lang ba sa ibang
bangko?

i have a friend who works there..she said masaya daw talaga..sobrang secured ang feeling nya when she became a regular employee there kasi lahat ng benefits daw from family, free hospitalization, aside from bonuses-meron pang cash gifts na big amount talaga..mapacontractual or regular na daw bibigyan ka nila ng mga 35k pagxmas kahit ala ka pa 6 mos. kahit 1 month palang nakatanggap na.mapajanitor daw..lahat! kaya daw usually lahat ng tao daw dun, tumatanda na sa bank..*** iba 30 yrs na daw dun..mga vice presidents..kasi dahil dun sa benefits..hospitalization, Provident fund, pangtuition..etc :)

My father got his first job at DBP sometime in the late 60s. He stayed there until he opted for early retirement in the late 80s (or was that early 90s.) My father was not a high-ranking executive but DBP provided him with a good housing plan in the early 80s...we would have still been renting our home if not for that. I don't know how things are at DBP nowadays, but a cousin and some other people I know work there for about 10 years now. Some of my father's younger peers still work there, probably as managers or directors. The company must be doing something good, if people are staying that long.

my gf's mom is an exec vp there. sobrang ok ang environment dun and mataas din ang pay, isa yta ang dbp sa mga higher-paying goverment agency. pero hindi maiiwasan ang pulitika especially pag upper-level management na.by the way, 20 years na sya dun sa january.

uy SAVP rin mom ko, pero diba car plan is every 5 years. DBP is one of the best banks in the Phil. pang long-term siya. kaya lang sometimes may pulitika when it comes to higher positions. very evident sa current president nila, he does not know where's the borderline between personal and business issues.

^Its government pa din....so di talaga mawawala yung pulitika. But fyi, the current president came from the private sector, it's his first time to work in the gov't.
But come to think of it, di naman talaga nawawala ang politics in every institution e. :)

Yup I know that.
Politics is everywhere maski sa organization yan sa university, banks or multinational corporation.

Yup, MAP is a good program. DBP is in a transition stage since most officers are retiring, they need new ones to fill in the gap, so to speak. :)

/\ Hindi din...:glee: Naks, kunyari pa e, no?! :D
sinth: for the MAP, its a yearly program. Tapos na ang application period since training na ang candidates. So malamang next year pa uli ang hiring period. Pero you can still drop by the DBP Head office and give resumes, though its a long shot.
