 I'm presently employed in a contact center, for almost 3 months now. Unfortunately, My lifestyle's of the past has caught up with Me and My attendance with My present employer has been affected significantly, because of My deteriorating health condition. I have an ailment that can kill Me anytime, if I was in extreme stress mentally or physically. The term that the company clinic gave Me was "Aneurism," when I had Myself checked because My blood pressure shooted up, a couple of week's ago.
My question is, and I hope My friends here in PEX could enlighthen Me a bit, Are You required to pay the bond if the company Doctor gave you a "unfit-to-work certificate?"
What will be the consequence if one does not have the means to shoulder the bond?
Any feedbacks would be of much help. Thank You and Happy Easter Guys!

If you present proper certificate, they won't. But if they will, which is almost always next to never, you will just pay for the pro-rated amount.
Take care of yourself, okay?

You're not even requires to poay the bond even if you go AWOL and I am a living testament to that. Just dont expect to get a clearance and dont expect to get the pay that is still due to you if the bond exceed that. But as far as them chasing after you, believe me it wont happen.

Saang aneurysm, if I may ask?

thank's for the word's of comfort, guys. *okay*
aneurism of the brain, in short, from what i understood, if your blood pressure shoots up, the pressure will run through a persons nerves/ veins and at a certain point, the pressure build up can "pop" the vessels and result in a aneurism. this aneurism is caused by a lot of factors, i.e stress and high blood pressure/s. correct me if im wrong, if someone who is a medical professional reads this post. that was what the company clinic impressed on me, if my condition is not abated.
but not all jobs are healthy. i guess call centers are not for the weak of hearts. very expensive mistake for me to learn. :depressed:

Ah. Aneurysm in the brain. I'm an MD degree holder (about to take the boards this August) and from what I recall, an aneurysm is an abnormal dilatation of an artery. Parang nagkakaroon ng sac ang artery. Meron sa brain, meron din sa abdomen, etc. i remember when I was rotating in Neurology and Neurosurgery wards before, we must not disturb those diagnosed with aneurysm kasi baka nga pumutok yung aneurysm nila.
You take care of your health, okay?

I've spoken with the HR Director of one of the top three call centers here in the Philippines about this issue a few months back, and she said that employment bonds only apply to middle management positions and above; for agents, di na daw nila hinahabol yun as it is a waste of HR time and resources. Andaming agents nag-aawol at nagreresign bawat linggo, they smply cannot process them all.

good question. how did my doctor diagnosed me with aneurism? you see i have dm2 (diabetes type II), and the "benefits" of having diabetes is everything that is not right "under the sun" so to speak. aside from high blood pressure, ants in a diabetic-persons urine, constant restroom visits (home and office), prostate problems (trying to pee, when there is nothing to pee), etc etc. and come to think about the hole in your pocket once the doctor prescribes medicines to combat the diabetes that will eat your life away, if one does not keep away from unhealthy foods i.e living.
since we are in the contact center business, there lots of temptation to "instanti-size" our living, instant foods, instant coffee, instant and/ or unsual break schedules, which adds up to the cravings and needs of an agent. we cannot prevent this. majority of call center agents went from size S to XXL, faster than superman can change his spandex.
what call center companies should do is stay away from vendors which produce and market instant foods and drinks , because they are one of the causes why we, the agents, are getting unhealthy. there are tons of ideas out there to promote a healthy living, and avoiding instant foods and drinks, are my two cents worth.
if were not going to control what we eat and drink, especially smoking, the contact center companies should immediately take away our medical benefits and leave the medical bills to us agents to shoulder and share our benefits to the underpriviledge.

hopefully ill reach 27 by may. i asked the doctors what is the average age of a diabetic or a person with CAD (coronary artery disease), and they answered 30-50yrs old. i guess im one of "d lucky ones" to be hailed as a poster "child" for diabetes or a candididate for a heart attack/ stroke within the couple of years. :depressed:

No one is responsible for your health and well being except you. You have the choice on what food to eat (unless they force feed you), to go the gym and exercise to keep your diabetes in check.
Hope you begin taking care of yourself, but first and foremost change that attitude. Learn to accept responsibility for your lifestyle.
Good luck.
