I have been in the call center industry for the last 2 years, from an agent, TL and a Trainer and finally, I ended my stint in the Industry. Ewan ko kung maraming naging successful, pero I wonder how people have moved on after their call center stint...Ano-ano na ba mga racket nyo? Successful ba? is it better now or sa Call Center? share your thought naman please...

yes may thread ngang ganito dati,nahihirapan lang ako halukayin..

ako i worked for a call center for 4months, then moved to a commercial bank in which my banking career lasted for only 6months then a better offer came from a BPO firm.. A U.S based title closing firm.. pay is competitive with call centers plus I wont be wearing a headset or using an AVAYA.. office setting kami dito..no aht, no metrics, no more irate callers..

so is there life after call centers? definitely yes for me.

actually, rigor and i are officemates in that same BPO company, in the same way that we became wavemates in that same call center that he's referring to.

well, right now, i can say that i'm enjoying with this life after being in the call center industry for a relatively short period of time, although i can say that i miss the call center life, especially may last call center. i miss my friends there. but, right now, i can say i'm happy with my decision of leaving. i don't know why. maybe i've sensed a feeling of contentment here.. maybe. just my two cents, though. pax!

i'm gettick sick and tired of the callcenter job everyday. i want to move on soon. ayoko na ng graveyard shift. nakakapagod din. i've been working for the call center industry for almost 2 years now and i've been to three callcenters na. i don't like the lifestyle anymore...

ako din ayoko na ng call centers.. *** maisip pa lang na ma attain ang metrics e nakakaloko na.. good thing I ended up in a BPO company.. no metrics,no aht,no avaya but the bad thing is grave yard ulit..pero wala na ko makitang pera sa day jobs e and mukha namang promising dito.. well kung nakasanayan mo ang call center life at magreresign ka,dapat *** lilipatan mo ay ganun din kaganda ang compensation.. we have to admit that call center agents are well compensated compared to mostly ordinary day jobs..

I just resigned from my call center work after I decided to go back to my original field. I believe there is life after call center, lalo na when I pass my course's board exams. Definitely, I'll be happier being a professional in my own field. And after getting a license, I will definitely be entitled to a good pay. :D

Yes, there is life after callcenter. If ever I retire from this field, I will be thankful for what I have learned from it. Conversational english, time management, working in a team environment and organization are just some of the things that I would bring to my new career if ever I leave the contact center field.

Well if you ask me, I'm an English Teacher here in Bangkok. Hehehe. Imagine, vacationing while working as a foreign teacher in a land which doesn't even speak english.

OT : ^^Well if recent english proficiency statistics here in our country are correct, you don't have to go to a foreign land now to experience a country that doesn't speak English. Let me rephrase that, a country that could speak english but could not comprehend it well.

wow good for you, sana makapasa ka sa licensure mo.. di naman dead end job ang call center.. dapat lang natin gamitin ang ating mga natutunan sa call center at iapply sa ibang trabaho such as the development of communication skills, pag galing ka ng tech support e quick thinking.. mga ganung bagay ay makakatulong kahit saang trabho ka man magpunta...

Life after callcentres:

Teaching English in Korea, Thailand, China, or 'Nam;
Bank manager;
Other BPO, depending on which past account you really hit top metrics;

Whichever way, you are more assertive, speak better English, have better interaction with foreigner, and if you didn' go AWOL or if you left in good graces, a solid employment background sought by employers everywhere.

This is my reason kung bakit ako na-terminate sa trabaho as call center PARA LANG MAKAPAGHANAP NG SISISIHIN!

Very true. Many of the people my companies interview were former call center employees. Many burned out from the stress and the shifting schedules. Most would take lower pay just to work "normal" hours.

Many are also traumatized to learn that many of the places they receive calls from or call to have a low regard for call center employees. This is due to the fact that call support agents in the US historically have low educational attainment (most only require a high school education) and historically have been low paid part timers. Now when they outsource these low paid/low status jobs to the Philippines and have college-educated people doing these jobs, there's a 'status discrepancy'. There's also a culture shock re sales jobs since some American can get verbally abusive on the phone.

With that said, it's still a good business proposition for most parties involved: by outsourcing call jobs to the philippines, the employers get higher quality people for way lower rates (why pay $8 an hour in the US along with high $$$ for workers comp and other mandatory fees when you can pay only $400 to $500 per person per month in the Philippines?). It's also better for the consumer since you have a more educated and refined person on the other end of the phone line.
