Hi jr_jane06,
I hate to break the bad news to you but most companies especially call centers would be very hesitant employing preggy reps, simply because the management is also concerned with the health of the employee and of the child she is bearing within her.
A call center job is a high-risk job especially for infanticipating individuals -- this is mainly because of the graveyard shift which tends to a.) lower the iron content of the blood, and b.) stressful environment. Both conditions tend to lower their immune system and thus makes them susceptible to illnesses; a deadly combination which can have the worst result of an uneventful miscarriage.
That's the first humanitarian concern. Another concern of the company, more of financial really, is the SS reimbursement. Miscarriage is very unpredictable, but when it happens during the proby period where the employee is technically not yet entitled to paid leaves -- this is where SSS comes in. SS is going to shoulder the days that the employee was out of the office because of hospitalization, but the company has to shell out the amount first. Only after the employee's proper filing of pertinent SS documents is the company able to reimburse this (and boy, this really takes time!).
Third risk: proby period. The reason that call centers offer the proby period is for the companies to assess whether a person is good for regularization or not -- and most practice in call centers include output or productivity as an appraisal / assessment factor. A maternity leave lasts two months, and it is also granted to those who suffer miscarriage. What if, the person suffers a miscarriage during the proby period -- sabihin na natin na nawala yung tao ng 2 months. 2 months is a big thing as far as productivity is concerned, in effect, bagsak ang 5th month appraisal, ergo: no regularization for the employee.
Of course, it would depend on a case-to-case basis, but given the scenarios above, unfortunately, from a business perspective -- hiring a preggy individual is very risky; chances are, the employee will be released but will be asked to report for work only after giving birth.
Hope I was able to shed light :) I suggest you find other means of earning a living; I understand that times may be hard, but then again you should never compromise your health and the health of your baby. You can try finding other less risky jobs, especially those that do not cater the graveyard shift. Payong kapatid lamang po. *pope*
