Much have been said and done on losing weight, but how about gaining it?

I'm 5'8" and 132 lbs. Everytime I eat anything and everything, the only part of my body that gains weight is my face. Someone told me once that I look like a lollipop. Help.

To gain weight, it takes 3 things: One, you have to take in extra calories beyond what you need to maintain weight; two, you need to do weight training to gain extra mass (that way, your face won't be the only part which will show the weight); and three, your genetic potential--if you come from a family of thin people, efforts to gain weight may take longer and may not be that effective.

With eating, you have to eat at least 5-7 meals/snacks a day. Get yourself a calorie counter book, list down what you're eating daily, compute for the calories you're actually taking, then just add 500-1000 more calories a day than what you normally take in. Avoid skipping meals, too, even if you're not that hungry. Eat high-calorie density food like avocados, ice cream, nuts, and cheese. But don't eat too much of it--you want to gain weight, not get a heart attack or a stroke from the amount of saturated fat you're taking in. Eat a lot of high-protein food like soya, fish, beans, grain, and meats. And enrol yourself in a gym for weighttraining program, that way you'll fill out properly.

Sustagen Premium worked for me. One glass twice a day.

Now, I'm having problems taking those extra weight off. :boom:

Try mo mag-enroll sa gym para mag gain ng muscles chaka weight na rin. They'll give you a diet plan. Be sure to follow it. Just like losing weight, it takes discipline and sacrifice to gain some pounds.

 Ralph Waldo, I'm sorry I couldn't help but laugh at your lollipop self-deprecating comment. How old are you, anyway? Because most thin people I knew in college have ballooned after school from all the sitting and minimal exercise at work... so I can only suggest that you wait for the rest of your body to fatten up... ;)

yeh, that's right! i've been ain the 130-140 lbs (5'8") since high-school and right after college, when i started working, i gained 5lbs a month! a was horrified, hinid ko alam ang gagawin ko! my six-packed pandesal turned into a giant siopao! i couln't sleep thinking my tummy is higher than my chest.

in panic, i went on weight reduction by only eating twice a day. stopped drinking sodas. wala na rin ang meryendas and i always touch my belly to remind me that i'm on a diet...

yuga: @giant siopao! Up until this point I'd always thought you were female! Anyhow, I'm glad you're keeping tabs (hehe, parang shortcut ng 'taba') on your weight. I have so many friends who seem to have gained triple chins in a span of 6 months from graduation!
