i recommend their wired internt.. im currently using 1mbps and minsan pag hindi peak hours umaabot ng 2mbps!! and i love it!

1. What's the difference of the test in speedtest.net and that of mypad.net?
2. What does "ping" mean? What about the "distance"?

FallenPixie, also subscribed to Globe speak n surf wireless bundle last June. crappy phone, crappy service. wireless phone had poor signal inside structures, difficulty receiving incoming calls, bad earpiece volume, no backlighting on screen. internet service was intermittent. on top of that, poor customer service - they have not managed to reflect my initial payment even until now so i haven't paid them a centavo. emailed CSR but deleted without reading. They're now trying to recover my unit - does that automatically mean no fees? if not, please let me know how you convinced them not to charge you. TYIA!

They tried sending a crew to "repair" my connection which I refused; I refused to accept their bills emphasizing that my subscription is under protest and should have been terminated until finally after about 2 months they terminated my account and I'm now Innove-free! I did not "convince" them to not charge me; pinamukha ko lang na they sold me a non-working product and I'm exercising my right to return a non-working product as opposed to settling for repairing or replacing it ;)

Tama. Ganyan din ginawa namin sa globe namin. Wala pang 2 weeks, sinoli na namin yung unit sa main office mismo without any fees (termination fee). Grabe naman kasi yung connection. Ang bulok talaga. Although sayang yung binayad namin sa wires sa mga poste pero its good to be free from this connection.


Last Feb 07 nagpakabit kami ng PLDT DSL plan 999 and guess what?... after a month and 2 weeks tsaka lang dumating yung mga loko. Grabe ang hirap na pag hindi ka sanay ng walang internet. Ngayon sabi daw BILIS KABIT... sa mga bagong kabit lang.. How long did it take you guys na kabitan ng mydsl?


I've been hearing about his DIGITEL... kamusta naman feedback dito?

Yup, QC din ako. Nagdown kaninang mga 1PM. Nag-up by 3PM pero sobrang bagal lalo na pag international websites. Kakatawag ko lang sa Tech Support. Wala pa daw sinasabi sa kanila kung kailan maaayos ang connection. Hanggang ngayon daw ginagawa pa din at talagang mabagal.

Yup, nagkakaproblema din sa Bayantel. I've been a subscriber for more than a year now. Sa experience ko bihira lang naman sila magkaroon ng problema pero pag nagkaproblema sobrang malala naman. Basta may nangyari sa Taiwan, patay na. Last time more than a month na parang dial up ang connection ko. Ito yung time na bumagyo sa Taiwan, August 21 yun. Prior to that, nung lumindol sa Taiwan nung December 2006. Almost a month din ang inabot bago naayos. Sana this time mabilis lang nila maayos ito. Nakakatawa lang kasi binigyan naman nila ako ng adjustment na 300 pesos para dun sa one month na gumagapang ang connection ko. Di pa yun automatic, I demanded for it at binigay after 2 months. Nakakainis kasi sa mga ISP walang kibo kapag sa kanila ang problema. Subukan mo lang na mahuli sa pagbabayad kungdi putol ang line mo kaagad. Hindi fair at masyadong one-sided ang mga contracts.

I'm constantly experiencing a lot of DC problems with PLDT MyDSL lalo na tuwing peak hours. Few months ago, hindi naman. Pero nowadays madalas na ang DC. Grabe sobrang nakakainis. I don't know if yung area namin may problema (Cainta border near Pasig). Although I have a classmate living in Taytay who's had the same problem as mine. Samantalang yung mga classmates ko naman na nakatira sa QC hindi nagkakaproblema.

You won't find your usual downloading speed in Limewire because its system is p2p (peer to peer) so your dl speed there will depend on the number of users online with that file. Try PLDT Speed Test (http://www.pldtdsl.com/speedtest.asp)

Nagpakabait ako ng DIGITEL DSL kahapon, Navigator plan 832kbps. Bukas papaputol na namin. 30 mos locked in period. Papaputol ko na bukas. Twice yung monthly bill nababayaran for the penalty. Ok na kesa magtiyaga pa. Nakazpdee pa rin naman kasi ko. Baket ganun yung connection ko 832kbps minsan umaabot ng 2mbps + pa pero yung pumapasok talaga sa kin mababa. Kapag nagspeedtest ako ok naman. Pero yung download ko mababa di pa lumalagpas ng 20kbps+. Yung pumapasok wala pang half ng plan ko. So madaya sila. Kayo ba kapag nagsspeedtest. Actual download nyo ganyan din? Same talaga pumapasok?

Eto naman sa zpdee. Gets ko na yung speedtest na yan. Kapag ideal ka. Mataas talaga makukuha mo. Pero while downloading something mababa makukuha. Kaya dapat ang minomonitor natin yung actual na pumapasok sa tin. Connection mo nga 1mbps pero yung pumapasok talaga sayo 100kbps + lang. Wala rin. Kaya wag papaloko. Hehehe

Iba talaga ang speedtest/bandwidth meter na nakukuha mo compare sa actual na download mo, kung may direct pearing ang ISP mo sa speedtest na mga sites *** subscribe speed talaga ang makukuha mo compare sa actual speed na nakukuha mo pag nag ddownload ka which is mababa, madaming factors kung bakit mababa ang actual download mo (congestion sa network,server ng site kung saan ka ng ddownload), sa pag kaka alam ko din di mo talaga makukuha ang download speed na nakukuha mo sa speedtest sa actual download mo.
In some cases meron mga nakaka kuha ng mas mataas na speed compare sa subscribe bandwidth nila..

the lowest ping rate I got was 40.
this week pinaltan ng destiny yung modem ko at changed my ip (phase out na raw kasi yung gamit kong modem nila since nung nagstart sila yun na ang gamit ko, dunno why they changed my ip address, sabi nagupgrade daw sila). I still have to test it if it will still reach 700+kb/sec on torrent downloads.


maybe those who work at Destiny are monitoring me.....hehehehe

Nakakainis ngayon ang PLDT. 'Yung subscription namin is Xperience pero ang bagal-bagal niya this this past four weeks or so.

'Yung connection ng kapitbahay namin, mas mabilis pa kaysa sa akin samantalang Plan 990 'yung kanila.

Kapag nanunuod ako sa YouTube, inaabot ng mga 15 minutes para lang makapag-load ng isang 30-sec video.

Sa tingin niyo ba problem 'to with PLDT? Chineck ko naman ang computer at wirings ko wala namang problema.

I'm a BayanDSL subscriber and yesterday nagloko yung adaptor ng modem ko, namamatay pag umiinit. So I called yung support nila and told me na may pupunta daw dito today between 8am-5pm. And true to their word, may pmunta nga and sya pa nanggising sa akin. Kahit bitin sa tulog ayos lang dahil pinalitan nya ng mas bago yun modem ko and was able to watch pa the SAS-PHX game hehe! It all started before Holy Week of 2008, (that was around 3rd week of March) when we experienced selective browsing. UPDATE ON MY APPLICATION (plan1299)
Called them up 171 yesterday (Wednesday) and they said that my papers have been processed and that i need to go to their office to get a "certificate" signed.

Went there and got the certificate. Problem is that the phone line belongs to my mom so she should be the one to sign it. So il just return it pag na pirmahan na ng mom ko. Problem is holiday today. So bukas ko pa masoli to sa PLDT office.

Update on my PLDT plan 1299 application:
I called up 171 last sunday and asked them when will the contractors come to our place and install the DSL Modem. They said they would follow it up.

Yesterday (may 5, monday) PLDT called in the morning saying that they will be arriving within the day for the installation of the modem. Sure enough they arrived at around 11am. After some tinkering they said that the lines are old etc etc etc.. That they have sent a request for the installation of other stuff.

Called up 171 this morning and they said that the request have been forwarded and that i should wait for some 24 to 48 hours.

I can say it is Globelines Broadband because of the stable internet connectivity and prompt customer support. But remember, not all ISP’s are the same in any locality. I heard Globe Broaband is really bad in Cavite.

Application process pa lang, naiinis na ako sa PLDT e. Kumusta naman ang Globe Lines DSL dito? Malakas kasi sila mag-market especially on Sundays.

kapag mabait yung PLDT technician, papa-enchance niya yung connection mo.

i.e. bandwidth ko dapat 1 mbps lang, ginawa niya 1.2 mbps.

kasi habang inaayos ng technical crew sa pldt station yung bandwidth, kunwari di pa naabot yung 1 mbps (sasabihin nung technician 800 kbps pa lang). pag naabot na yung 1.2 mbps, sasabihin nung technician ok na 1 mbps na. :D

Nakakayamot!

Intermitent ang connection ko sa PLDT. As in kailangan ko pa lagi i-click yung REPAIR dun sa network icon. Tapos it only lasts for 2 minutes... Tapos wala na ulit ako net. Halos 4 hours out of my 8 hour work sched e ganun nangyari. :(

Ive just got PLDT DSL Plan 999 installed.

First day had speeds of around 300kbps, next day 700kbps, then now averaging 900kbps.

Hooked up to my PS3 and iPhone via wireless D-Link router and works fine!

Last week may dumating ulit na PLDT Tech guy. and this time DOWN ang dsl ko. Hirap na hirap yung tao. Kulang na lang saihin nya na hinde nya kaya at uuwi na sya.

After a couple of minutes/hours going in and out of our house. Checking all connections with i said was already done by the previous tech guys who went here... ..he finally said he would go to the sta mesa office.

After 30mins he arrived along with another guy. This time they have a lap top. They said some stuff about viruses... configurations.. etc etc etc... then they plugged-in their laptop and the DSL works. Speed shows 700-800. :(

Then they connected it to my PC.
Line i still intermetent. :(

anyways, a dy or 2 after they have checked my DSL e OK na sya ngayon. and himala... this is the 3-4th day na tuloy tuloy ang net ko. AS-IN walang putol

I was amused with how my friend dealt with his 30kbps connection yesterday at malas pa niya at dapat manonood pa siya ng Macross Frontier sa veoh. He disconnected his wireless router thinking na baka may topak yung unit and connected his pc straight to the modem. Pero same issue pa ren at nag try na ren siya na i-off muna yung modem at same issue pa ren.

Kaya plan b naman ang ginawa niya at tumawag sa 4121212 at sinagot ng csr na tunog bisaya na masungit raw at pinatawag na lang siya sa 187 para malaman number ng tech support. Di man lamang nag-effort si csr na ibigay man lang yung number. Tawag naman sa 187 sabay may long distance charge at nag-init ang ulo ng kaibigan ko kasi babayaran pa niya yung simpleng tanong para sa number ng tech support. Kaya tumawag ulit sa 4121212 at nakakuha naman ng matinong csr na nagbigay ng tech support number.

Ayun at pina-reset na lang nung tsr yung connection then reset modem na ren. Nag improve na ren kahit paano yung speed at di na pang dial-up. Pero one week na medyo makupad yung connection ng friend ko.

4121212, 171 and 4112000. Busy lahat papuntang DSL Tech Support. Minsan pa binababaan pa ako ng phone. Yung hindi siya magsasalita tapos a few seconds after busy tone na ang maririnig ko. Today ilang beses na ako na-disconnect sa internet. Sa ilang beses na pagda-dial ko ng Tech support line, once lang ako nakapasok. Ni-reset lang ang port but nothing improved. Lumala pa. :rolleyes:
