Encarta 2006 vs. Brittanica 2006

Which is the better educational software for you? What are the advatages and disadvantages of using Encarta? Britannica?

I'm planning to buy an educational software for my PC and I have evaluated the two and I need outsider opinion.

nobody buys encyclopedia now ah..

wikipedia.com and teh intraweb are all you need now.

Hindi book, PC software. Do you read me? PC software, not books. Kailangan din natin ng PC knowledge software, para hindi palagi sa internet. :p

Mas okay ang Encarta 2006. May MSN ID ka nga lang dapat para ma-update mo yung articles sa Encarta mo. Updatable sya hanggang October of the current year. Medyo malaki nga lang yung file size nung software as a whole kasi it will take up 3GB of your HD. But who needs that when you can get very good information on a lot of matters with a mouse click and without the need of everyday internet?

I can't say much for Britannica 2006 kasi hindi ko pa naman sya nagagamit ever. Pero mag-Encarta ka na, bukod sa talagang good buy sya eh marami syang other good features aside from the main program. There is this add-on program of the Encarta Software that is conducive to kids. Madaming educational games and stuff.

Just use wikipedia. It's accuracy is almost up to par with the pay encyclopedias. Its breadth of topics would probably be broader as well.

But if you're not always internet-ready and you are dial-up, you shall have this, especially MS Encarta. Ok sana yung Britannica pero masyadong maarte yun para gamitin. Kailangan pa ng JRE para maayos ang paggamit. :lol:

go for encarta. it has more animations, videos and interactives. great for toddlers, you might even get hooked to it yourself.

Buy the original thing. It's a good investment.

The MSE 2006 box contains a DVD-ROM which is good for installation if you have a DVD-R/RW or a combo CD/DVD drive and 6 CD-ROMs which is good if you only have a CD-R/RW drive. :)

Try stores which sell original software such as Data Blitz. There are branches in Power Plant in Rockwell, Cybermall in Eastwood, Shangri-La Plaza in Ortigas.

before sa haus namin we have the complete volumes of encyclopedia. Colliers. but now they are just displays. :lol:

Thanks for the tips. I've tried both and I have an MS Encarta now. Ayoko sa Britannica, hirap talaga gamitin. :rotflmao:
