Deutsche Knowledge Services (DKS) is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank, registered with the Philippines Securities and Exchange Commission as a Regional Operating Headquarters (ROHQ) in April 2005. DKS is Deutsche Bank's primary global shared service centre for Controlling, providing accounting, reporting, and reconciliation and risk control services. With Euro 993 billion in assets and 63,427 employees, Deutsche Bank ranks among the global leaders in corporate banking and securities, transaction banking, asset management, and private wealth management, and has a significant private and business banking franchise in Germany and other selected countries in Continental Europe. DKS set up its ROHQ in the Philippines to tap into the significant potential offered by the country as a global centre of excellence. DKS believes that the Philippines offers a number of significant advantages, in particular, the high quality of local graduates who are proficient in English, American accounting practices and International Reporting Standards. Locally, DKS is managed by an expert team of 13 executives, who collectively hold over 190 years of professional experience, and currently employs over 200 business and economics graduates and CPA qualified professionals. The business aims to build its presence significantly over the coming years by increasing the number of its employees and exploring further opportunities to broaden its service offering in the Philippines. Located in one of Manila’s premier locations, DKS ROHQ currently occupies two floors of The Enterprise Center in Makati and is connected to the Bank's global hubs in Frankfurt, London, New York, Singapore, Tokyo, and Sydney. DKS also has an office in Bangalore which primarily supports cash operations and related functions.

So it's DB's insourced outsourcing company.

I think acquiring experience in backroom operations from German managers could be educational and enriching.

In terms of assets, but 1999 BS? How about 2005? Or how about in terms of market share, scope of global coverage, customer service, innovative technologies, competitive pricing, and transaction volume?

I was offered a job in DB after my stint at CBC. Good offer, by the way. I posted something about this in another thread.

I kinda miss CBC and Citibank!

Hmmm, it should be pronounced as /dóyt-che/. The sound /t/ in German is produced separately even when combined with other consonant sounds, such as in this case: the sounds /t/ and /ch/.

you can apply thru Jobstreet then just search for Deutsche Bank, then it will give you the list of available slots. You would need to answer an essay question. Paiba-iba daw ang tanong sa essay every week. Another is thru walk in application, visit them at 38th flr Tower 1 Enterprise Center.

@dark_half, yes they do hire people from call centers. Im from an in-house call center and i'll be starting w/ Deutsche Bank on May 15.

Mabilis lang ang processing eh, I applied thru jobstreet then a week after i submitted my resume online, interview na ako kaagad. Basta be very confident and knowledgeable lang sa pagsagot lalo na essay. Hope this helps!

may mga technical questions sila sa interview, pero di naman mahirap. madali lang sya if the job is really for you.

work is ok, extremely challenging! but it isnt deadly! syempre sinuswleduhan ka ng malaki, the bank is expecting you to give them good service too, think of it, you work for one of the worlds top bank! di po ito gobyerno na uupo ka lang at uuwi. the learning is continuous, may career growth.

DKS peeps,

I am at the "technical" domain pero gusto ko lumipat sa Finance. I realized that it is not my calling. :( Kaso I have no BUsiness / Accounting background. But I am really eager to learn.

I am on my 5th month already. Can I tell my manager if I can be transferred after my probation period? Even if this would mean another probation period under my new domain, if ever. Malalaman naman ng manager ko yung career path or objectives ko sa Employee Evaluation eh pagdating ng 6th month ko.

Your inputs are highly appreciated. ;)

Deutsche Bank is the #1 bank in the whole world. I read somewhere.

Their office is at the Ayala Tower One in Ayala Triangle. Just not sure what level.

To add some info about DB.
The president of the bank is Mr.Ackermann came from Switzerland,as you know that Swiss is very talented in term of money business.
DB bought another bank name NORIS Bank, also a Germanbank.

My husband is working in DB since 12 years na,the salary and benefits are very good.Okay nasa Germany kami kaya okay ang pamamahala sa mga employees but in Pinas,I dont know kung naghahire lang sila ng mga Pinoys coz of low salary na inaaccept ng mga kababayan. To tell you mga kababayan, the salary of a lower position employee dito ay inaabot ng mga 200thousand pesos in a month.

I had my interview with their HR about a week ago and she said that she's going to show my profile to the higher-ups and if they'd want to interview me, she'd call me up. The position that I'm applying for will start sometime Jan-Feb 2008, I think.

Hmm...question lang po, do they inform the applicants even if they are not shortlisted for the position? How long does the recruitment process take?

We'll be transferring to Net cube. It will be done per domain, ERIS will be the first one come Dec 15. Normally, mbilis lang ang processing nila. Di ko lang alam kung lay low sila ngayon recruiting kse nga lilipat na sa The Fort not to mention wala na rin halos workstation sa Makati.
Honestly, nung andun ako sa job fair because of a friend, they immediately notify if they qualify for a position or not through a piece of paper. They are hiring accountants, economist, business related grad, etc. Overall, im satisfied with the company. Very professional ang environment and they have lots of trainings/seminars conducted for non accountants to make sure that they can cope up with the banking industry. They also offer training for technical skills like SAP, MS Access, Excel etc. at least you dont have to pay for this kind of programs.

Is it possible that that's the reason why I wasn't called for an interview? I used to work for an international bank na kapitbahay ng Deutsche jan sa Enterprise :)

May job openings pa rin sila for accountants, nakita ko sa jobstreet. Pero wala pa rin akong tawag up to now.

Hindi ba unfair pag ganon ang policy nila? Shempre hindi naman lahat ng tao from a particular company ay pareho ang ugali, work ethics, etc. Nakaka-curious naman kung bakit nga ba ganon at may list pa sila.

It depends on the role you are going to handle. If you are required to work even during weekends or holidays, then a laptop will be provided to ensure business continuity.

Hmmm... Im not sure why DKS wont hire from top companies in their blacklist.

Possibilities are, those companies might be Deutsche Bank's competitors. Or BPO's supporting DB's competitors - which is already a big threat.

Other companies made an agreement with DKS not to hire their ex-employees. For example, Company Flatutoo may request DKS not to hire ex-Company Flatutoo employees. Siguro sa sobrang dami ng taong nag-alisan sa kanila and Company Flatutoo HR found out na karamihan ay sa DKS napunta.

may friend ako na nagwo-work sa DB, she's a senior associate, ok naman daw an work, base sa mga kuwento niya mukang masaya naman cia, salary wise ok lang kung nasa pinas ka, pero kung i-compare mo sa ibang bansa maliit lang, nag-aplay ako before kaso di ako nakarating on time sa interview ko, so sad kasi sobrang duper sa heavy traffic that day sa SLEX, hindi na ako natawagan after that.

mas preffered nila kung may knowledge ka sa SAP or other realated system, siguro kaya hindi na sila nag-hire from other company sa dami kasi ng na-pirate nila, may mga association din kasi ang mga company's malamang nalaman na sa DB napupunta yung ibang magagaling na employees :)

@ gadƒly: wala pong fraud dept ang DKS. HIndi po ito call center. This is an investment bank so mostly accounting related ang work dito. They do not require acctg or business related course but definitely its an advantage on your part. We dont actually call it training but migration, wherein you will be migrating one specific job from clients (Singapore, Germany, London, Australia, Spain etc.) then back here in the Philippines. So parang ikaw ang pioneer ng isang project then iuuwi mo dito sa Pinas para ituro sa mga magiging teammates mo. This is limited to some employees. Not all of the employees were sent abroad for migration. basis? Don't know. There might be incoming employees scheduled to be sent abroad but of course HR will decide on that one.

@foolcha - There are a lot of job openings right now but HR is very "mapili" sa mga hini-hire nila. I've known a lot of good people who applied but was not accepted. Just give it a try, malay mo di ba? Hope this helps.

It seems nobody who has same qualifications as you are answered your query. Since I work on the technical side of the bank, I cant give you a close estimate of salary range for Accountants. All I can say is DKS pays well... as in WELL. Just use your negotiation skills. ;)

a friend told me that a salary for a fresh grad can reach P20k... but i think they have other criteria/consideration in deciding how much one should receive. labo kasi e. i have a friends in DKS but the one with lesser experience earns better than the other one who has a better experience... we're thinking na nasa negotiation skill mo un. kasi sya daw (the one with higher salary) really negotiated for his salary...

I applied at DKS last November. I reached three final interviews for three different teams. I applied for the analyst position by the way. The first TL didn't seem to like me from the start but the two others were ok. I was pretty confident at the last interview because the position seem to match my qualification and personality best. I felt I was able to convince the TL of the said team. She said she'll consult other leads. In the end, they didn't get me. I would really have liked to work for DKS. A former colleague of mine applied as an economist and he got accepted right away. He was subordinate to me in our former company and I know his capabilities. He isn't what you call a high potential because I used to check his work. What sort of qualifications do they need for an analyst? I am reviewing for the CFA Level 1 exam right now. if you're taking CFA 1 why don't you consider taking a job at big commercial banks, private banks, investment houses or in the insurance industry.

i know for Unionbank they pay a premium of P8,000.00 per month for every CFA level you pass from your base salary. it may be higher for other companies.

I just submitted my resume to one of the biggest commercial banks in the country.

Guess I was wondering more about how DKS rated me and if there's something I could have done to get hired. I had really wanted to work there then. Any feedback from the HR and the TLs would have been nice. At the very least, it would help me improve on any valid weaknesses on my qualifications.

BTW, is Unionbank hiring right now? Can you suggest positions/teams where a Level 1 candidate can maximize learning and contribution?

*What I have clarified is the Nature of business here in DKS not from where they hire people. Hindi ko sinabi na they do not hire people from call center but what I pointed out is that DKS is NOT a CALL CENTER. gets?

This is an investment bank so mostly accounting related ang work dito.

DKS is not an investment bank. I would also contradict that the work is mostly accounting. The largest group in DKS is market research, followed by expense & revenue reporting then IT. For market research, and expense & revenue reporting, you would be making reports for the end users who would be doing the actual analysis.

they need CFAs and alike for Unionbank's UITF, trust operations and their corporate banking services.

some listed companies regardless of industry hire CFAs in their accounting and investor relations departments.

the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas is also hiring CFAs and will provide scholarships to pay for up to level 3.

btw, i have some friends who applied for posts at DKS last Nov 07, they were just called back last week for their second interview with team leaders. is there a delay in hiring because DKS is moving to Fort Bonifacio?

for those who want to apply in DKS, it's quite easy now compared to my time (i've been here for 3 yrs already!) and it's sad to see that the selectivity process is quite deteriorating. during my time, we had at least 3 local interviews in manila then at a telecon with singapore/london/new york and the final one was a videocon with london. but from what i observe now, interviewees only reach up to 2 local interviews in manila without so much of technical questions. before almost 90% of DKS workforce comes from top universities, with masterals (except from the IT/SAP personnel). maybe because it's due to the no. of people they need now. but once you get to work with these "new" people, the quality of work isn't the same as those "old" people. for the new applicants..yes they do pay well and some of the tranings (due to migration of work) are held abroad but not everyone is given a chance for this. i know someone who has been here longer than i am and he has not travelled yet (he's a CPA and from UPD for god sake)! but in my case, i've been to singapore for 3 months, in NY for 6 months and in London for 3 months!

here's my wild estimation (but can be true)

Fresh grad - CPA (20k per month), non-CPA (16-18k per month)
Associate (1-5 yrs work experience) - 21k-50k per month
Senior Associate (6yrs work exp. and up) - (51k-100k per month)
Team Lead - (101k - 150kk)
Managers - infinity..hahaha

Hmm... Hindi pa naman lilipat agad ang ISIS. ERIS and FAS ang first batch. Early 2009 na ang lipat ng other domains sa NET ONE building which is still under construction.

They called me last week 5 months after I submitted my resume. I really wanted to work for this company because of the trainings abroad, with the pay just coming in second. Nakakatakot baka hindi din ako mapadala for training abroad like what True_Greeny said. :|

yung mga bago daw na employees dun eh parang "binabangko", puro admin support lang while waiting for the jobs. then kung may kailangang ipapunta sa Europe for training, ang ipadadala eh yung mga barkada nila from other department. or new hires ulit na kakilala na nung mga supervisors. so kawawa ka daw kung wala kang "kapit" pag pasok mo sa DKS. :D

^Totoo yan!!! Napakawalang kwenta talaga ng HR sa DKS! Recruit lang ng recruit maski wala naman paglalagyan! Nung first day ko, walang nakakaalam kung ano position ko! Buong araw lang akong nakaupo! Bwiset!

May mga kilala din akong na-hire sa mga position nila tapos biglang babawiin. Meron akong kilalang na-hire for team lead, tapos pagpasok sa DKS, iba ang ginawang team lead!

Only the financial departments of DKS transferred to the Fort. But the recruitment still takes place in Makati Office.

I just had my final interview here yesterday. My experience with the recruitment was pleasant as they are very professional and kind enough to provide me a clear picture of the company and their culture.

I got excited when I heard that they are providing various accounting trainings that are PICPA certified and other finance courses such as treasury certification. Which I can take advantage of for my professional growth and career development.

I've heard a lot of good things from a friend who's been working there for almost 2 years. I really can't wait to be a part of DKS.

btw, I learned from HR that there's gonna be an upcomming job fair from April 28 to 30 at the Renaissance Makati City Hotel(9am to 7pm).

Unfortunately, DKS only use SAP FI-CO as this is the core specialty of the bank.

I have no SAP-FI experience when I entered here, so the module I use is totally alien to me. Right now we can't be given extensive training (ie. Kaisa trainings, etc) due to cost reduction. So more on buddy-buddy system na lang kami natututo sa mga mas senior dito.

is it true that DKS is already cutting there cost for training? they wont specialize there new hire for a SAP module?

For now yes. Anyway this is per sub-department's manager's decision, who also receives blessings from the sending location bosses.

Primarily, DKS only hires "experienced" people. Unless you are inexperienced, but still you can prove your worth to be fast learner and resourceful. Then you got the edge over the others who just stays idle at work and waits to be trained. Just wait for the right time to undergo company-sponsored technical trainings outside the office. After all, the business knows when to shell out funds.

Fear not. Cost-cutting is not a primary indicator that a company is already unstable. In fact, almost every company, wealthy or not, exercise this.

Yup. There are Finance (Non-accounting) and Technical positions available. DKS is a highly diversified environment. Even ARTS grads can apply if they have proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
