How's the work environment here? Are employees from subsidiary being typecast by those in the mother company? I heard benefits given to subsidiaries and mother companies vary a lot. How true?

I am applying for a finance position in Avida Land but Im quite confused on whether to accept it or not. When i had my interview i was shocked with the place. Those I worked for are really neat and presentable and that's what encouraged me to accept their offer. but when I was already employed those appearances does not apply to the way they value their employees. In this case, where the company office is not that "good-looking" how will i know if the company is a good employer? What are the qualifications that I should know before I accept an offer from a company.
