hi irate!!!! sawa na ako sa kakabigay ng focus awards!!!! musta sa ps? masaya ba? kung may gym benefits sila lilipat na ako. putik i realized that i was just getting almost the same pay as compared to other csrs in other call centers. ang laki nga ng basic tadtad naman sa tax. magkano ba dito? may bagong account ba?

what kind of accts ba ang hawak ng people support?technical,travel,financial???same salary ba for all??
I came from a callcenter in ortigas area na ISP ang acct.....and I'm really thinking of applying in people support for technical acct.
Also what about the salary??Is it at least close to the 14.5k basic plus 1k meal and 1.5k transpo or 17k I got as a proby from my last company?

I'm back! We ran some tests yesterday on the applications we use in our account and i had the opportunity to tour the center. Ang lawak pala ng floor area! According to our "tour guide" accounts from Export Bank and PhilamLife will be the first occupants of PS Center.
What's cool about the place is that there's a balcony on each floor which means di mo na kelangan bumaba pa ng ground floor for yosi breaks.

hi! matagal n din m s PS and it's sad na may politics n din s promotions. sana lang s pag decide nun, buked s ops or team manager, may isang totally neutral or disinterested na person (meaning d friend o kakilala ng applicants, ng ops o ng TM) from upper management who'll help decide on the promotions *** **** maging basehan din yung stats. dapat hindi nksalalay s manager lang yung pgppromote.
wala n tuloy truth yung open-door, equal-opportunity policy. :depressed:

andyan pa nga si allan.. nakikita ko pa din.. mag-apply ka na kasi samin. baka pede ka sa travel dito sa team ko.. kaso wala ata opening. sa account mo dati paspasan ata ang hiring. patayan naman ang training dyan. ilang buwan.
yung ibang teammates ko na nalipat sa sales, pag di ata maganda ang conversion baka ilipat sa pinaggalingan mong account.. e di ba downtime na sa inyo yung 100+ na calls. :shakehead:
di nga ako nag-pass ng ijaf may opening kasi samin na sup trainee para dun sa travel account. sana taga dito sa team ko ang makuha :D

di naman ata nasusunod yung clause sa contract e.. kala ko ba bawal i-hire ng ps ang galing sykes o sykes galing ps kung wala pang 1 yr na nag-resign yung employee. e ba't yung schoolmate ko na galing sykes andito na ngayon?
di ba ang hr din may quota kada week kung gaano dapat ang ma-interview nila? mass hiring ang call centers kaya malamang na di nasusunod yung clause.
sa bonds? yung batchmate ko na wala pang 2 weeks ang tinagal dito di nagbayad ng bond. yung kaibigan ko na nasa call center sa libis, naka-1 month lang ata tas umalis na pero wala namang binayadan. ewan ko lang kung naniningil nga ng bayad.

BAWAL sa Pilipinas ang may bond sa work (depende sa sitwasyon). basahin mo sa labor code, andun. nananakot lang ang mga call centers na yan. wala naman silang magagawa pag lumipat ka. kaya nga ang daming rigodon na nangyayari e! look for the company that offers the best package, then go for it! bonds... non-complete clauses... puro K A P U T A H A N!!! :flog:

obviously! :shrug2: the non-complete clause in any call center states that you will have to pay so and so IF YOU RESIGN before so and so months.
solution? DONT RESIGN!!! wag ka lang pumasok sa work. automatic na iter-terminate ng company ang contract mo. it's not resigning. AWOL ka. kukunin ka pa rin naman ng ibang call centers kahit AWOL ka sa previous call center job mo. ganun ka desperado makakuha ng agents ang LAHAT ng call centers! everyday ba naman ang hiring e!

anyone here from the technical account at 33rd flr? im one of the newbies just finished nho...twas ok **** really cool trainers...
i was just wondering....how tough is it being a tech agent? coz after the ops mgr. talked to us and telling us more about the account we got well... I got intimidated since its been a while since you guys got a new batch and he said hes expecting quite a lot from the incoming batch and im not really techy in fact im far from being that...any tips??

Convergys[full-time] and Sykes call center agents can transfer to People Support after resigning since these two companies does not impose a non-compete clause . Non-compete clauses are not necessarily a reciprocal arrangement.
What happens is that Convergys respects other call centers' non-compete clause while not imposing a non-compete clause on its own staff. How do I know, it's in my contract that I don't have a non-compete clause imposed on me by Convergys and also Sykes.
If you followed this thread I even told "sleepyhead"[ex-Sykes] that he can work with People Support since Sykes does not impose a non-compete clause on its staff.
It is normal to see people jump from Convergys to Sykes and vice-versa. It does not create conflict unless the accounts are the same or in the same industry category that directly competes with each other.

This was the last team I was under before leaving the company. After 2 and a half years in PS, I was driven to resign because of the way management botched up this account. They keep adding to the scope of support like it was a buffet line. You're tech support on paper but you're graded throught your sales conversion, too. It's ridiculous. Don't get me wrong, PS is by far the BEST call center around and HR doesn't just whip out a contract for any applicant that walks in. It's just sad to see so many of the good and loyal throw in the towel.

dati di tumatangap ng convergys ang ps nung nagiinterview pa ko ng applicants when I was an intern for VIP. maybe the contracts for a certain date/batch has changed, perhaps. . .

Sa Travel Vertical ka ba? Ang alam ko matatagalan ka pa bago makapag-transfer sa ibang account kasi maraming nagre-resign sa TV kaya hino-hold muna nila lahat ng Account Transfers. Yung isang ka-batch ko naghintay (nagtiis?) pa sya ng ilang months tapos nung sinabi ng Sup nya na pending daw ang application niya kasi kulang sa agents sa Travel...'di na siya nakapaghintay..umalis na lang siya :( Ay, discounting the account..bad yan! :no:
Masaya naman mag-work sa Travel kasi madaming pakulo. Ok ang management team and ang mga support & resources within your reach lang. Madalas may free food! :)

I'm sorry for causing you to worry. I just don't want you to be severely disappointed. In all honesty, the camaraderie (true for all PS accounts) is what will make you hold on. It's incredible how you grow so close together, your teammates and you, because you go through the same BS everyday. I learned A WHOLE DANG LOT about tech support in this account and it's something you will be able to apply, too, outside of your call center universe. So not all is bad. I guess you'll learn how to cope with the queue and the negative vibes from arrogantly idiotic Americans in time. Spoiled jerks that they are.

A ok.... kala ko bawal magmention ng accounts here? basta new hires kami were about to start our client spec tomorrow and i believe were the only ones that are for tech support.... yung account daw na mamimigay ng scooter for upselling, but ill really try my best coz sa taong walang pera... gagwin mo ang lahat hehehe!!!!

Noong agents pa kami sa account n yan (sa sales) nireklamo na namin "sila". . . pero muhkang, mas gusto ata ng top management ang mga bobo at masamang ugali. . . . from Sales manager, naging OM, tapos *** isang supervisor naging assoc. account manager. (at ngayon acct manager na) o diba. . . from complaint, to promotion. Wala rin palang say ang mga subordinates. I guess, for that particular part of PS which is SALES. Oh well.
Para maganahan naman *** nag aapply, galingan nyo na lang para pag nag apply kayo for a higher position, pakitaan nyo ng stats. . pero shempre, konting personality, at pacute sa mga management. Yun lang.

No call center I know of allows these things on the floor. As said, it's just common sense: you're supposed to be talking to people and working; why do you need all those stuff on the floor? If they're allowed, then how many people would still concentrate on their job?

the more time you spend with ANY call center, the more you'll get to know its highs and lows. walang perpektong call center, lahat may kanya kanyang baho. judge peoplesupport with your OWN experience. don't base it with somebody else's.
sometimes you'll be at the receiving end of the "glorious" account. sometimes it's the other end you'll get - the A.S.S.H.O.L.E!!!

Yes PS does, most of the top 3 Callcenters have those accounts. Why don't you just visit PS, submit your resume and get the feel of the workplace? It's much better than reading all the post here. Goodluck! MTFBWY :)

it's implemented to the whole of peoplesupport, including those in export bank. Well . . . wala tyong magagawa, that is the company's policy. And surfing is still allowed naman during breaks such as the 15 min break and lunches.

BTW, nagquit na sya... walang callcenter na nag-a-allow ng gadgets? you mean kasama ang cellphone di ba? i have a friend in sykes... na txt ng txt pag wala syang calls.... and ngyn... habang online ako... nagPPM sya sa akin sa YM and telling me na may nakausap syang B*tch na amerikana...
and HSBC, i think they allow you to surf..... ewan ko lang sa cellphone....
It is not all about the gadgets... but yung pagbaban sa lahat including YM, internet, MS WORD (pati ba naman ang MS WORD) & etc.
Ang dalawang callcenter lang na alam ko ang bawal lahat ay eTELECARE and itong account na ito ng PPLsupport....
I know that you need to work for 8 hours but that does not necessarily mean na magpapakaROBOT ka for 8 hours answering that call.... i think callcenter agents are humans and not some answering machines.... they need some things to ease their boredom... or something na makakapagrelax sa kanila maliban sa yosi sa break
Being a callcenter agent is not an easy job. oo tagaSAGOT ka nga ng telepono... pero yung stress naman na kapalit kasama pa yung sobrang pulitika sa loob (may friend ako na ex-PPL support agent na nasa HSBC ngyn telling me na malayo compared sa PPL support dahil lupit ng pulitika sa PPL Support, naging sup yung isang agent dahil nililigawan ng team manager).... tapos ngyn bawal na ang lahat? Maliban sa eTELEcare... ano bang callcenter ang bawal lahat? pakiLIST naman...

i would understand why call centers would not allow your so-called "gadgets" on the floor. in the first place, they are paying you to focus on your job, not to be texting or tapping away on your PDA, or listening to your i-pod.
there are specific accounts that require utmost confidentiality, thus, "gadgets" and/or browsing the net aren't allowed on the floor as these may compromise confidentiality (i.e., you may transmit them to others, or may record/write them on your i-pods or PDA's).
some accounts won't even afford you the chance to tinker with any gadgets or browse the web because of time constraints (especially Directory assistance or other similar high call volume accounts).
if the use of these "gadgets" or browsing the web is included in your criteria for the selection of a call center to work for, well... it's really up to you. you do have a choice after all....

Well, since PS became part of NASDAQ, they took the security policy seriously.
I understand that some callcenters are lenient with the gadget thingies, my friend in Sykes also uses YM while at work, they can also bring their ipods, CDs or DVDs or what have you.
Mobile phones are not allowed on the floor basically because of the irritating disruption caused by an incoming message or call from an agent nearby, this can unfortunately also be heard by a customer/caller.

siguro ngayon lang natin naramdaman na pinatupad yung policies.. 1 yr and 5 months na ko dito pero nung january lang ata talaga naghigpit ng masyado ang ps.. may access naman sa word a.. wala lang sa printer.. kasi di ba kaya nawalan ng access sa printer e may isang rep na nag-print ng non-work related topic (fishes).. at yung printer pa na pinili nyang pg-print-an e yung wala sa pantry.. ang pagkakaalam ko e yung printer dun sa room ng isang mataas ang katungkulan..
tsaka bawal cds, dvds.. siguro ok lang yun.. kaya naman tayo andito para magtrabaho e.. pinaka-ok na yung makapag-surf ka.. kaso alam ko sa ibang account bawal yung non-work related. siguro mas maluwag pg AM shift.
pero ba't sa ym bawal? kala ko dati bawal lahat pero ang merong access dun e yung mga sup, pataas.. dati nga yahoo music lang ang wala.
tsaka sana ibalik yung U:/ drive
siguro ang iniingatan lang nila e yung lumabas ang mga account na nasa ps at lalo na yung mga CC info ng customers.. mahirap talaga yun.
pacuteako: pag nasa call center ka, kelangan mo nang tanggapin na *** kang stress ball.. pero dapat may way ka na pag-endshift mo, di mo na dala ang mga irate callers o kung anupaman sa labas ng bldg.. di ba yung iba nga may yosi break.. sabay-sabay kumakain sa labas to relieve themselves.

The prohibitions on tech gadgets and restrictions on PC use are there primarily for security reasons. Agents in most accounts have access to confidential information (which includes, but not limited to) like credit card numbers, client/customer phone numbers, addresses, etc. Gadgets like cellphones, laptops, PDAs, mp3 players, and everything else that have storage devices in them can be used to store and transmit data like these and thus pose security threats.
For those who have attended the NHOs during the last 7 months, you might recall that a tall chinese-looking IT guy said something like my post above. :)

actually bawal talaga dapat ang mga electronic gadgets and messanging system sa production floor. sabi nga ni hitman, some accounts handle sensitive information that needs to be kept confindential. and i thinks its better for the whole company to implement it to everyone, not just 1 account. balita ko nga sa bagong PSC, sa labas ng floor na yung mga lockers...bawal na magdala sa loob ng kahit anung bagay. ang alternative lang na nakikita ko is for the company to allot space for recreation rooms sa buildings. afterall, most of the agents are in their 20s or early 30s. and they need to let out steam after all those irate calls. :)

I hope you don't mind my saying this lordtaz... but it's not an issue of whether upper management has a control issue, or if IT is competent enough to trace info leaks. I suppose the mere fact that there is a possibility of something like this happening already warrants prudent action. Should anyone in management even wait for something like this to happen before action should be taken (which could very well damage our company's reputation, and our job security)?
Leadership is not always something that everyone looks up to, especially when the people up there are making decisions that don't gain favor from the rank-and-file. But what we have to understand is that our company's clients depend on us to protect their interests; PeopleSupport isn't really out to cater to our boredom.
I'm really sorry that you feel disgruntled about the recent policy changes, but they're all for the best. The better we get to serve our clients, the better our chances to benefit from these initiatives. Let's try to look at the bigger picture, shall we?

These security policies were implemented specifically because we had some security breaches in the past.
Furthermore, it's not an issue of whether IT is competent enough to track these calls. If it's just a matter of tracking, even the QA folks can do that. However, data transmission does not occur during calls. It's what the agent does while taking the call and after the call. If an agent is taking down customer information and saving it somewhere else, IT will have little to no way of controlling that. If it's on paper, it would be foolish for the guards to inspect each and every piece of paper being carried out by an agent. If it's on a cellphone, it's even more foolish for the guards or IT to check the phones one by one. In essence, instead of catching reps who are doing anomalous activities, it is better to prevent them from doing so in the first place.

Reps need not use techy stuff to download or take note of customer info (especially credit card numbers, passwords, usernames, etc.). Just like what you said, kahit paper and pen lang napakadaling ipuslit ng impormasyong yan (i even have a complete copy of mine sitting in my bed right now). i see it as management being too paranoid about security details. even though i believe that being a step ahead is good, sometimes unconsciously, it gives people the idea on what to do with the information.
EX. i can post all credit card numbers in the internet as an anonymous sender and let those who see them use it for whatever purpose. Madaling ma-trace sa states na galing sa ganitong specific transaction lumabas ang card info. they would check into all call centers that the customer did business with and blame them. kahit na sabihin nating malaman ng call center kung sinong agent ang nakausap ng customer, NAPAKADALING mag-deny ng agent at sabihin na hindi siya ang nagkalat ng card info.

I share your pain. But on the other side of the coin is HR cannot make every employee in the company happy. PS is employing how many? 3k employees? Against 20 to 30 HR people. Thats roughly 1 HR to 100 employees. HR cannot make everyone happy in terms of compensation, etc. However, I do believe that they have the responsibility to at least try to make everyone in the company happy.
Tip ko na lang...magtayo na lang ng union...mag welga lahat ng agents..tignan natin kung di mataranta yang mga yan. :D hehehe

yeah, it's true. accounts based in JG Summit won't be making the move into PS Center as of yet. Although I'm pretty sure that this is only temporary since from the look of things, the administration just wants to take things slowly at first just to check if things have been set-up the way it's supposed to be set-up.

true enough... agents really are the life-blood of call centers. I concur with you on that point.
Although agents are the main reason why call centers do earn as much as they do, it doesn't mean that management should become lax in implementing proactive measures in ensuring client information security. Truth of the matter is that upper management is truly proud of the teams that comprise the rank-and-file... we wouldn't be where we are without the people who bust their a-s-s-e-s off over the phones everyday. But we are human, and, as thehitman has already mentioned, there are times when people become weak and succumb to such temptations. This is where management steps in to make sure that things like these never happen.
Trust me... management is doing its best to cater to all its customers, both external and internal.

It was because of THE sales manager that they pulled the account out of Peoplesupport. I won't tell why . . . you can probably figure that out. :)

Thanks for the info. Can I ask for their email address para dun ko i-send unless they are open on weekends, I can go to their office siguro. Pahirapan kasi kumuha ng vacation leave dito sa office namin unless mag sick leave kaso baka tumawag sa haws tapos bigla wala ako, tsugi ako nun :) Kasi me work po me sa office pag weekdays. Hmmm...It might be too late but I think you were given the numbers before signing for it, right? Anyway, 2 years and 2 months. I was there only for 5 months.
I think there is a misconception of what you are expecting from your backpay. I mean, from how I see it (i'm no accounting or HR expert,ok?) why I got that amount is because of my pro-rated 13th month pay. They are supposed to give you that. Or something else. He he he, I don't also know the details of it all. But I was happy with PS before. Too much lang talaga ang pressure ng account ko before.

hi. just got back from vacation sa states and im planning to work asap. ive been in the call center industry for about 2 years and im interested in joining PS.
my friend says that the travel account is nice. is that true?
also, what account gives the highest basic pay? or ano ang pinaka lucrative na account nyo?

Kasi meron syang nahuling agent nun sa 14/F (guess what building!) na natutulog (actually nakaidlip nga lang dahil between calls). Biruin ba naman eh pinahiya at sinigawan daw ni TM yun, including using the words "you SOB" at yung agent eh hiyang-hiya na. Packsheet.
Alam namin yan, even some of my former peers would think na magiging urban legend na yan sa PS.

may bayad na nga yung kape (sa dispenser) pero ok lang kasi di naman ako umiinom dun :D

yung stations parang hawig ng nasa export. tsaka 2 floor pa bago ko makapuntang sleep room. mauubos oras ko.

Travel account? The huge travel account is great. They rarely have problems. The other travel account, the one that has 4 sub-accounts, is generally okay. One of the accounts though is a wee bit problematic.
Account that gives the highest basic pay. I believe it's collections. Try to visit www.stcsolutions.com to get an overview.

Been a while since I last visited the page...
I hope you don't mind my saying this lordtaz... but it's not an issue of whether upper management has a control issue, or if IT is competent enough to trace info leaks. I suppose the mere fact that there is a possibility of something like this happening already warrants prudent action. Should anyone in management even wait for something like this to happen before action should be taken (which could very well damage our company's reputation, and our job security)?
Leadership is not always something that everyone looks up to, especially when the people up there are making decisions that don't gain favor from the rank-and-file. But what we have to understand is that our company's clients depend on us to protect their interests; PeopleSupport isn't really out to cater to our boredom.
I'm really sorry that you feel disgruntled about the recent policy changes, but they're all for the best. The better we get to serve our clients, the better our chances to benefit from these initiatives. Let's try to look at the bigger picture, shall we?

reporting analyst is not an IT position. actually, you'll be under the quality management team or sumthing. i dunno about the bond. all i know is that the company requires you to be with it for about 4 or 5 months. starting salary for the reporting analyst might be on the 20k level. ;) hehehehe...

OT : SB? parang... parang kilala ko yan a.. di naman ako directly biktima o na-curse nito.. last May lang siguro.. may prospect client na naka-barge samin.. tapos malas pa kasi sakin yung unang call tapos sobrang irate.. basta patuloy kong ine-explain kung pano na-cancel yung order due to CC verification. tapos yung item na gusto nya e soldout na... lumabas sa con room si sb tapos ang lakas daw ng sigaw sa floor.. sabi daw sa mga sup namin na, "anyone of you, take the call now..".. buti nga di ko nadinig kasi baka ma-bad trip lang ako..
basta tama yung ginawa ko. buti naman naintindihan nung mga nakinig yung situation at may mga ganung clients din daw sila..
mas lalong nawalan ako ng ganang pansinin si sb simula nun..

blubby: I'll have to tell you, a call/contact center job isn't for everybody. Most people work on the graveyard shift and some accounts don't have morning or afternoon shifts. However, the working environment is great! Facilities are okay. The trainers are outstanding. Management people, depending on the account, are... There's free coffee, tea, and chocolate in the pantries :glee:.
As for tech support, it depends on which tech account you go to...

IT is growing. About the "pangit management ng IT"... I don't think so. IT is not a perfect team. Maybe may mga minor issues. But I'm pretty sure they can all handle it. :blowsmoke:

i read the previous posts and napansin ko lang, favorite si GETLOG. im not suprised.
i've been with PS for 2 years now. madami na akong narinig at na-experience first hand na horror stories involving GETLOG. personally itong si GETLOG, malaking ungas to. oo 5 years ka na sa PS, one of the pioneers ika nga pero my gawd yung management styles mo nakakatawa talaga.
nakakaawa ka. people are always talking behind your back alam mo ba. yes, even your beloved sups. tsk... tsk... GETLOG i admit that i have a personal grudge against you. dahil sayo kaya nawala ang team namin considering it was our team who made you who you are. kami ang rank and file mo nung mga panahong yun. it was us who made all those ****ing sales. kung alam lang namin na gaganituhin mo kami e di sana pinabayaan na lang namin yung mga calls na yun. sana sinira na lang namin yung account para ikaw nasira na rin. you're one ungrateful, son-of-a-b*tch, conceited, *****. eto pa pala, feeling guwapo ka masyado. mag-kape ka tol para tablan ka ng konting kaba. it always pay to be nice to people. hindi makakabawas sa pagkatao mo kung minsan ngumiti ka man lang sa mga tao sa floor. paalala ko lang sayo, PS is the one who's giving us our pay at HINDI ikaw.
GETLOG, don't ever think that you're above us. there is power in numbers, you know that. we're in hundreds and you're alone. make one wrong move in PS and we'll make sure it's gonna be your last.
and to the hr people na kinausap pa yung mga friends ko noon about GETLOG eto lang masasabi ko. stop giving false hopes. stop making promises and stop acting as if you care coz in reality you don't.
PS is the best call center that i've worked with. it sure has its flaws as a company but that makes working for PS more interesting and fulfilling. to all the reps, tiis lang mga dudes and dudettes. darating din yang promotion na yan at sa mga nakaakyat na sa corporate ladder huwag sana tayong makalimot kung san tayo nagumpisa.
a little act of kindness goes a long way. as hippie as it sounds, this is one mantra that all of should apply sa workplace at sa sariling buhay na rin natin.

puro fast food na lang dito e.. iba lang ang pangalan pero pareho pa din ang klase ng pagkain.
