Alam ko EL still needs a lot of people, because we were able to get the Broadband tech support from another outsourced foreign contact center. Our team manager said that EL will be challenging the travel account as PS' biggest team by year's end.

Incidentally, the shared team is our newest neighbor :bounce:. Poor team sup (who's my batchmate) handles 29 reps by her lonesome. Hope the team gets at least one more sup soon.

1) i heard may bond dw sa PS and its good for 6 months. is this true?
2) also heard that theres this 'agreement' that wherein u cant apply in other call centers if u get terminated or if u resign. is this true?...and this is good for how long?
3) is the training paid in full or allowance lang?
4) does PS do outbound/telemarketing or talagang inbound lang?
5) idea **** please on the basic salary (for those with less than 6months experience) ... heard its less than 13K which is inclusive of the benefits already...asows! ganun?

1. Yes, there is a bond, but it's good for 4 months.
2. Yes, we have a non-compete clause that prevents you from applying in other call centers for a period of one year after your termination/resignation.
3. Training is paid in full.
4. PS does provide outbound services, but the bulk of service is inbound.
5. Basic salary is between 10K and 15K, excluding benefits.

1) bond is for 4 months only.
2) this is true. non-compete clause is for 1 year from separation(actually most call centers have this). some, if not all, get away with this. it depends on the new call center if they are going to take you in or not. sa hirap ba naman ng pag-recruit susundin pa ba nila to? and on PS's part naman, sa dami ng dapat asikasuhin eh hahabulin pa ba nila yung mga yon? sa 2 taon ko dito ala pa kong nababalitaang nakasuhan.
3) allowance? meron bang ganito? di uso dito yan. probi ka agad from day 1 of training. i do know some call center na training allowance ka lang muna and you have to wait for another 6 months bago ka ma-regularize.
4) PS do have sales account pero hindi ito OUTBOUND na hard selling/telemarketing. Customers ang tumatawag hindi ang agent.
5) For somebody na less than 6 months ang experience talagang P12k ang basic and food allowance of P1k plus 20% Night Differential additional transpo allowance kung odd hours ang schedule mo. From day 1 pa lang me HMO ka na unlike other companies. Upong regularization increase agad ang salary mo to P15k. You will also receive stock options and life insurance. Yearly ang increase depende sa performance mo.

Ows? Siguro nga maliit 'to if you are to compare it with other call centers na nagdadatingan. dami kong batchmates na nasilaw pero nagsisi din sa huli. Dami kong friends from different call centers pero stand out pa rin ang PS. Walang business attire dito. kung gusto mo pumasok ka nang nakapambahay ok lang. Meron ba silang PSU (people support university)? Continuous ang professional development dito. Pwede kang mag-enrol ng mga courses na gusto mo for free. Example: IT Basics, Management Courses, Business Courses, etc. Kung gusto mo namang malipat sa isang department but you don't have any experience, PS also have volunteer internship program. Pwede kang mag-internship sa kahit anong department na gusto mo.

HR is the best! Wala masyadong restrictions dito kumpara sa iba. The best ang mga sups and HR.

Just to give you an idea of how big the company is right now, they occupy 12th and 14th Flr of PhilamLife and then 29th to 32nd flr of the adjacent Robinsons Summit Center and then there's another call center in Cebu which i think has already started its operation.

I agree, PS' salary may be a little low compared to other contact centers. But the working environment more than makes up for it. In PS, you don't feel that you are burdened with your work. The contact center na co-tenant natin sa JG, ilang beses na akong tinawagan for contract signing. Eventhough I know the money might be bigger there, I'm still staying with PS *okay*

i agree with chinghe...i just recently signed a contract with PS and currently under training. mabait ang mga tao, approachable and always smiling...you wont have second thoughts if you want to ask or clarify anything.

hi there...i applied to PS through Jobstreet and recieved a reply from them with instructions to call this certain number..i guess it's a phone interview..i have not call them back yet coz im still hesistant and "nervous" coz i dnt know what to expect..baka mag stammer lang ako..i have no previous experience with call centers though im exposed to american accents since im a medical transcriptionist for three years now...should i give it a try? lahat ba voice support? any advise? curious lang kasi ako what's life working in call centers....

Why not give it a try? Everything to gain, and nothing to lose. It's okay if you stammer from time to time as your English grammar and sentence structures are correct and your voice is clear. We do have some chat and email support, but the bulk of the reps provide voice support.

The initial phone interview, or face screen interview as they sometimes call it, is designed to evaluate your english skills. You will be asked general questions about you and your background. Most probably you will be asked on the items you placed on your resume. The longer the conversation, the bigger the chances that you will be scheduled for an exam. Right now, we have openings for both customer support and tech support. The only difference between the two is that you need tech skills (computer troubleshooting mostly) for tech support. As for customer support, you just need to be internet-savvy, have strong command of English, and have a typing speed of at least 30 wpm (25 wpm will be accepted if your english skills are above average).

Rookie jitters. If you will yourself to stay for three months, by then you'll be able to handle calls while reading a book. Of course doing something else is not right, but my point is, you'll be well adjusted by that time so that calls won't be hard anymore, except for the occasional *****es :glee:

It's just natural for you to have a hard time for the first few days. There are more than a dozen resolutions to a given problem, and you aren't expected to know all of them, especially for 1-week old Tech Reps.

Kung hindi mo alam resolution, magtanong ka lang sa vet reps. The next time you encounter the same problem, alam mo na ang gagawin ;)

If it makes you feel any better mark_mark, three months into being live on the floor I still suffered minor anxiety attacks before my shift started. That's pathetic, I know. :lol: Of course, that seems like ages ago now but don't ever let that get the better of you. Those are challenges. Thing is, with PS, they will always give you room to improve your performance level no matter how long it takes.

Remember that you are in charge of the call, not the customer. So as long as you know what you're doing, there won't be a problem. Don't let the customer bully you or intimidate you. If he starts shouting and cursing, don't take it personally. Just remain firm with your words until he calms down or asks for your supervisor or drops the call.

i often visit this thread and i agree with dwein (ata) that this thread is pretty quiet and i think you guys (based from your posts) are satisfied with your current work at PS compare to other call centers thread that i've visited. that's why i tried my luck and had an exam this morning. what can i say... hmmm.

when i got there, there were at least 20 people (just an estimate) who were also scheduled for an exam :eek: (not to mention at least another 10 came after i arrive). i told myself this gotta be the survival of the fittest. so i just sat there, contemplating on my answers if ever there will be an interview (it's better to be ready :D ) when these two guys at our back kept on talking loud, boasting what they know about computers yada yada (sorry i can't help it, talagang sobrang hangin gusto kong lagyan ng busal mga bibig :mad: pwede naman silang magkwentuhan pero ****, boses nila rinig ng buong mundo). anyhow, the HR officer had a roll call and ushered us inside the testing room. the place is so coool (ala lang.ganda ng room nila, unique) and then on with the test proper. i find the internet exam easy, the english 1 and 2 tricky (piniga ko talaga utak ko dito nyehehehe.) while i'm on my last five questions the other "mahangin" guy started talking again aaaaagghh :angry:, not even thinking that some people were still taking the exam and needed some quiet time to think of their answers. i even managed to let out a "ssssshhhh" just to stop him but to no avail. after the alloted time for the exam, the HR officer asked us to wait for five minutes for the results... (this is longest 5 minutes of my life) ... then the results came, my name wasn't called!!! i didn't know what to think, since they didn't told us if the names called are the one who passed. pero sabi nga nila.. "many are called but few are chosen" nyehehehe :bungi: i passed the exam woohooo!! talagang ang konti namin, para kmeng dinaanan ng bagyo. more than half yung nawala i think. on with the second part of the exam, the essay and the typing test. i did pretty well i guess (or wala na talagang bumabagsak dito? :confused: ) and the HR officer scheduled me for an interview on tuesday. these are my questions:

1. is call simulation (that you're talking about here) is included during the interview?
2. aside from the simulation, are there any other tests that we may need to go through?
3. is the interview done by the HR officer or the dept head which they think you're qualified at?

Jud...wala pa akong naririnig na open house na naka-plano eh. Pero pass mo na lang yung resume nung kaibigan mo. Sobrang bilis na ng application ngayon, pero hindi consistent. Merong mga applicants na umaabot sa final interview within three days nung face screen interview nila, pero merong iba na tumatawag pa para mag-follow-up ng application nila. golfer_guy: HR assistants are all in the frontline: recruitment. So no graveyard shifts for them. However, they do work extended hours everyday and they have to work on saturdays (paid OT of course). It's a very toxic life. Good luck!

golfer_guy: HR assistants are all in the frontline: recruitment. So no graveyard shifts for them. However, they do work extended hours everyday and they have to work on saturdays (paid OT of course). It's a very toxic life. Good luck!

That's one thing that attracted me most why I was inclined to get the offer of PeopleSupport by next week. True to the word ang level ng support in the org which includes internal hiring. All the people manning the administrative posts for ops (i.e. team leads) were once eReps. Meaning, mas magandang career growth. Unlike with most call centers, they hire TLs externally -- and after a month nangangapa pa rin on how to run people; parang mas magaling pa rin ang agent na 1 year nang nasa company kesa sa boss nya na 1 month pa lang and straight-hire TL sya. :rolleyes:

I should advise you to do good in the written exam (English technicality/proficiency exam). If ever you make it there, then brush-up on your comm skills for the final exam so that you'll make it as an eRep. No need to have an American accent at first, you just have to have excellent English comm skills. ;)

i had an interview yesterday... hmmm, let's see, the simulation went ok. the HR officer told me i have a good customer grasp, the only comment she gave me is i don't have the "accent" (in short pinoy na pinoy :hiya: ) ... now i don't know if i'm in or not. she just asked me if they can call the people(references) in my resume for a background check and how soon can i start.

how many days/weeks should i have to wait for them to call me? will i receive an email telling me if i didn't pass the interview? :confused:

i would have to agree with beefeater re internal hiring of TL's. i used to work in this call center, and they were hiring TL's from the outside. true enough, these so-called TL's didnt know anything about the industry so nangangapa talaga sila literally. nakakainis! talagang mas marunong pang magrun yung mga agents who have had at least 1 yr of experience kesa sa kanila. dapat the company should hire TL's internally, from experienced agents...anyway, yun lang...just wanted to share my view. nga pala, i think i know what call center and what program u came from beefeater...ur from nitro, tama ba? im from samurai...

standard is 5 days a week or what we call a 9x5 sked meaning 9 hours a day for 5 days (2 days off - consecutive) . 9 hour shift includes your 1hr lunchbreak and two 15-minute coffee breaks. depending on the account you will be assigned to, we also have an 11x4 shift. that's 11hrs a day but you have 3 days consecutive days off. An 11hrs shift includes 1hr lunchbreak and two 15-minute coffee breaks.

Coñotic? Not here in PS. Of course, there are still the coños around, but like what one before me said, they are the exception. People here are generally friendly, down-to-earth, and very pleasant to deal with.

Schedules also depend if you have a strong "connection" within the management. Eric de Pedro gave his girlfriend (when she was in PS) and her girl batchmate a very sweet 11x4, Fri-Sat-Sun schedule despite her/their inexperience. Talk about power. :director:

ey, i have a question for ps employees... i passed the initial interview, the exams, and the final interview. i got a call the following week from hr and told me i qualified for an erep position. the thing is, for some reason i have to turn down the offer. and the reason is not because i accepted another job offer or something. that was less than a month ago. now i regret my decision, i wana work for ps for the same reasons that was posted here. actually it's the only call center and company i applied to after i graduated. hay... do i need to wait for another 6 months before i could reapply? or do i need to reapply pa talaga? what's the reason behind the six-month-long wait ngapla?

- easy job...(no clerical works, if you know what i mean)... of course, it's stressful & challenging at times. what isn't?

- the people!!! it beats all the hassle... take my word for it. let's put it this way: person A works in PS, she gets bored, wants to resign. but person A has lots of friends in PS (friendster) and she really loves working for PS, she just wants to explore her horizons... know what happens? she STAYS and gives PS another chance... who can leave such a wonderful bunch of peeps??? anyway, don't worry about getting bored coz PS has programs that help you out of your rut. - ;)

- workplace. top of the line equipment. best technology.

- HR department... they do all the hard work. hehehe.

- policies: come in as you are dress code, open door policy for all level ( you can approach anyone even the general manager anytime!)

- training department... education rocks!!!... P.S.U.

- free internet... hehe... no downloading though...

- free coffe/choco drink!

- benefits: cool benefits... believe me. for confidentiality, i won't be able to divulge any info but take my word for it.

- employee discounts!!! right now we have Fitness First, Ponticello, Seattle's Best, etc... more to come!

- shifts... mine is 7pm - 4am and i love it!

- free stuff they give out... office stuff for example...

- how could i forget the pay?! it's above average + +... food allowance, special shift allowance, generous OT and holiday computations...

Well, since you didn't actually fail the exams, you should still be qualified. Why not call up our HR department and ask? Just be honest and explain why you had to turn it down the last time and then express your eagerness to work for us now.

Don't forget that person A usually, inspite of the stress and previously lost hope, ends up liking the place so much that he or she ends up being proactive and eventually gets promoted. Happened to me. In fact, I'm person A.

Dunno with other call centers, especially with the one which I came from. However, here in PeopleSupport the ONLY open hiring position in general would be the eRep (TM). It doesn't hire HR assistants outright Afaik. But, after 3 months of being an eRep (in any account), basta magaling ka in handling calls and the like, you can apply for an HR position here or with any department. here.

My 2 cents. :)

Yep, beefeater is right. We only hire HR temps (contractuals) although there is always the possibility that they will be absorbed by HR after their contract expires. HR assistants earn as much as the entry-level reps.

Well that would depend sa galing mo as an eRep, kasi the minimum allowable evaluation time period before you can move to another department within PS is 90 days/3 months. So dapat magaling ka as an eRep para maiconsider ka nila for HR. But still, the proby period is 6 months for all positions, but it doesn't mean na you have to wait for 6 months before you can move.

From what I know, if you're interested it is you who should apply for an internal position (i.e. HR, QA, etc.) within PS. Basta minimum of 90 days ka sa current account mo you can move. All I can say is you should give your very best.

I've talked to some partimers here and they say they are paid Pxxx/hour. bale 4hrs a day lang sila. basta they shouldn't exceed xxhrs/week ata. so if you are going to sum it up, that's Pxxx/day x 5 days = Pxxxx/week or Pxxxx/pay period or like Pxxx per month. not bad. pero sabi nila wala nang night differential and they don't enjoy the same benefits of a regular/full time eRep.

A PeopleSupport representative has asked me to remove the numbers here. I am also asked to say that part-time reps should log at least 40 hours per month.

I would suggest that if anybody is in need of definite and accurate information regarding employment at any company, a representative of that company, whose face you can see and whose real name you can verify, is the best source.

Part-time rep ako sa PeopleSupport. I started September lang pero I wish I applied a year earlier. Its a great part time job.... the pay's really great, and there are not that many calls. It's like we're paid to surf the internet. hehehe

I totally agree. When you walk into Philam's lobby it's bright, elegant, upbeat and you get this feeling that you've arrived. JG on the other hand would be comparable to an industrial steel mill - dark grey tones, that perpetual drilling at the back that will never hit paydirt, and those poseurs from that other call center :rolleyes: But then again, the workstations are new and so's the furniture so it's not all bad. I just wish the developers would finally finish the whole building. Or are they done? :D

PeopleSupport is really a nice place to work at. Especially, if you want to start your professional career in the right path. Some people immediately look at the benefits and salary package, though PeopleSupport is very competitive in the package that they offer, the experience that you get is still a mile ahead in comparison to most of the other call centers.

Actually ndi ko lang alam kung meron ngang programing courses for us PS employees. Usually kasi ang computer-related courses yung mge kelangan natin kahit yang pampetiks na Outlook...but if you want to inquire about this possibility, talk to someone from the PSU (Elaine, Norman, Tasha, et al.) They're in a better position to answer your question.
