but do they take into consideration my class schedule if i'm a part-timer? do you guys know how much they pay part timers per hr? thanks

Jun 28, 2004, 09:06 PM
another question, is the initial phone interview already part of the screening process? the one who interviewed me told me to go to their office on wed. is this the case with all applicants? i mean, do all applicants pass the initial interview?

dwein_coolblue
Jun 28, 2004, 09:58 PM
mullah_omar: if you were advised to come over for an interview, it means you passed the initial screening.

from what i know, trainings lasts a month or more. you would have to adjust to the training schedule given to you.

as per pay for part time-pay, i'm afraid i don't have info.

mullah_omar
Jun 29, 2004, 12:22 AM
i think the reason they want me go to the office on wednesday is because they would be giving me a written exam and not because they would be interviewing me. in case i get accepted, do i start to get paid during the training or only after finishing? thanks

sixpencer
Jun 29, 2004, 07:27 AM
training is paid work, yeah.

dwein_coolblue
Jun 29, 2004, 03:21 PM
just to add to sixpencer's post, you get regular pay eventhough you are in training, unlike other call centers which pays an "allowance". :)

apply ka uli after 6 months. :D

dwein_coolblue
Jun 30, 2004, 03:05 PM
mullah_omar: partime sa bond? hmmm. thehitman can answer that. the training bond is not deducted from your salary. should you decide to resign - without rendering services for the specified number of months indicated on your contract (e.g. 4 mos), you then should pay the amount in full. take note, "should". but some, do not. heheheh!

@ all : help naman on how could i pass the phone interview twice na me nagapply the second time that i've applied okay naman ang english ko though meron akong mga pauses...dapat po ba slang...

dwein_coolblue
Jun 30, 2004, 05:13 PM
jonbprofeta: hehehe! haven't you got all info from pcex? :-)

not really slang. american accent will follow after you get to take calls. what matters most is that when you are asked by the HR, you answer immediately with conviction. trying again doesnt hurt. goodluck!

mullah_omar

final interview ko na kanina. i think i did quite well in the interview but i think i screwed up in the simulation. i sounded like i just lost a close relative while i was talking to the "customer". i thought the voice i would be hearing was recorded but to my surprise the call came from the HR. haha! they told me they were going to call me on monday.

kuento ko lang, batch namin di pa naman nagsesend sa all-manila and not in the least Manila-N** pero yung the one before ours nung nag-first anniv, nag send. all-manila yata ginamit kase nga other batchmates nila have also moved on to other accounts. granted wala ata sa kanilang supe pa noon pero nag-email si peter at si flo saying blah-blah-blah go and email your friends directly, don't send it to us, this is spamming, etc. i guess they have a point but i don't see why only Level 3 and above people can pester the rest of manila with anniv spam. Just my two cents. PeopleSupport prides itself with having an equal level of communication among employees. Nobody needs to flaunt no upturned nose.

Daming openings ngayon. Apply kayo frontdesk administrator, walang SLAs! :bounce:

Hi! I’m based here in Cagayan de Oro. Do you know where I can send my resume that doesn’t need to go and send it in their website? I mean, I tried filling all those fields but since I have no job experience outside our home - i'm a self employed computer data encoder/artist - I can’t fill all three fields that require company name and stuff so I can’t proceed, plus my phone number and address is different. . . ammmm, can someone here process it for me, like submit it for me via email?

urgudfella.... yes PS DOES accept part-timers... but based on my own experience... you will not be privy to sched information until training is almost finished...pero most prolly GY... and depende rin yun kung may opening para sa part-timers... kaya gaya ng sabi ni thehitman... indicate mo na lang sa application

If I may plagiarize a bit...

All Peoplesupport employees should maintain a professional appearance that reflects a sense of pride in themselves and the company. To assist employees in choosing their attire, enumerated below are the guidelines on inappropriate attire, for both men and women:

- Backless, see-through, midriff tops or tube tops, extremely short skirts/shorts (shorter than mid-thigh), low cut blouses, or dresses, torn-off shirts.

- Visible undergarments

- Rubber or house slippers, and bare feet {bare feet? :glee: }

- Anything that can be considered offensive, revealing or unkempt.

I don't think these guidelines are that restrictive for the agents. 'Nuff said.

Saka "Visible Undergarments". (as opposed to invisible undergarments?) As far as I can remember, hindi mga rep ang madalas making naka t-back. Visible 'yun, right?

They may need to be more specific and grammatical.

Tama ka mathematician. And, what in the world does backless mean? (hindi ba ang terminology dito eh bare back or something) Ano iyon? Walang likod?

i think they were not able to get enough replies from the agents. not unless our respective teams make it a priority, magkakaroon ng results yung proposal na yan, di ba?

tungkol sa meal allowance, puede namang i-raise sa HR yan di ba? at least they would know that we are not getting enough allowance. or its not realistic now, based on the current prices of commodities.

I guess they're not taking the importance of frontline employess seriously -- such that their needs and actual market value is, well, unimportant.

It appears that modernizing and decorating their base (ang laki-laki ng complex sa buendia!) is on top of employee satisfaction. Naku... nakakalimutan 'ata nilang without front line employees, that gigantic complex, however modern it turns out, will be nothing but a, well, gigantic internet cafe.

Hindi na muna ako magaaply for any promotions methinks.

remember: "why fix something that ain't broke?"

If you think you're not being compensated enough, then you should make yourself heard. And get others who share your sentiments to help you so the voice will be louder. Personally, I'm satisfied with my basic and meal allowance so I'm a happy camper. I consider the meal allowance to be purely a bonus.

hmmm...i'm not sure with the salary coz entry level lahat dito sa PS with or without call center experience. Since you came from West and to my knowledge we share the same account with you guys (i.e. Total Access stuff)...most likely, same account ka din mapupunta. Do you guys also handle cable and webhosting for the client back there? Basta, go ahead and take the exam. Malalaman mo sa interview if they are going to match your salary.

hi....
we had FGD w/ HR last month, we raised that compensation thing, in fact was mentioned not only once, and was also the first answer given when HR asked the possible reason why reps would leave PS, although wasn't really discussed in details (i.e meal/transpo allowance, basic, etc.). and u know what, HR just smiled and just "took notes."

in travel, we recently received our cross-sell commission, but were uninformed that it is taxable, well it is commonsense that is taxable, but couldn't anyone have at least told us so? we were excited for that payday but ended up frustrated.

sneaky
Aug 27, 2004, 08:15 AM
i mean it is commonsense that it is taxable, but there are other bonus/es in travel that are not, so we didnt have the slightest idea that we won't exactly get the figure given to us few days before payday. oh well... still better than nothing of course :)

already discussed about revised handbook in our team, and honestly found nothing offensive, just fair enough. but if the time comes that they would require business attire, no way!!! let's make sure they can't do that, or everyone will leave PS. they will move to the new building all by themselves.....

Besides change, the only thing constant in the world is tax :glee:

I don't see management requiring us to wear business attires in the near future. The current atmosphere in the office should already be an indication that the casual attire works wonders for personnel. But if they do implement that, I don't think Ops will take that sitting down. Just like what happened when TM removed the personal button...

hitman's correct. we're just building up our image since more and more clients are actually visiting our facilities... and there's more of them to come in the next few months! We wouldn't want them to see their eReps in the casual pambahay attire now would we? :)

anu-ano bang mga call centers mas mataas magpasahod? sykes lang naman ang pinakamagandang compensation in the industry. i have friends who work in convergys and pareho lang ang sweldo and just for your info, tapos na yung pirating stage nila. entry level na lahat with or without call center experience. starting sa kanila is 12.5K compare it with ours na 13k. same din ang meal allowance and ND.

meron talagang mga call centers na malakas ang kita like my other friend who works in vision-X kasi commission based sila. outbound sales for at&t and mci. low basic pero ok sa commission. nakaka-take home pay sila ng 20K gross...per cut off ito.

Who says management isn't listening to the voice of ops? Read the email from Rozl...

We have good news to share with everyone.

****

We are launching the Account Transfer Program (ATP) effective September 1 as well. We would like to set up our employees for success, and understand that matching the employee's profile to the right account would make for a happier, more productive employee. The ATP will give you an opportunity to be considered for a move to another program.

Thanks,
Rozl

'Nuff said!

well, wala pa namang mechanics yang ATP eh, so let's wait and see pa rin kung ok nga yan.

pero frankly, sabi ng marami, sana raw nilubos-lubos na nila yung #1 sa memo ni rozl. sana tinaasan na lang ng konti chaka ginawang non-taxable. parang half-baked half-hearted paconsuelo lang kse yung #1 eh. kumbaga eh, parang masabi lang na may binigay sila na ganun, whereas i think, we deserve more...

la lang.

Meron na, naka-post sa intranet. In essence, you can apply for transfer to another account if you meet certain criteria and if that account has an opening. This solves the problem of reps who feel they have been stuck in their current account forever. Well, there's no guarantee that you can transfer when you apply, but it's better than waiting for the next available higher position. As for #1, I think there's a provision in the labor code that HR had to follow which was why they could not give the full benefit. Let's see if we can sniff something out of them.

item number 1 on the memo is in essence no-taxable na. yung remaining amt na lang yung me tax deduction. if we go higher with the allotment, then ps will have to start charging taxes for it again.

as for the transfer program, this is a good opportunity for agents to be considered to accounts that they are "fit". of course, you have to make sure to let mgt know that you are highly qualified for the transfer, hence, there are provisions to follow.

we dont want to start transferring people who cannot meet the demands for those accounts. di ba?

as per taxation laws, if i remember it right, allowances and/or bonuses that do not exceed 30,000pesos in a year is NON-TAXABLE. BUT, hindi kasama dito ang 13th month pay ha! kaya nga nagtaka ako kse sa memo ni rozl, sinama nya yung 13th month as allowance, eh hindi naman privilege yun, mandated by the law talaga yon noh!

so meaning, pwede pa nilang itaas ang meal allowance at magdagdag pa ng ibang allowances basta hindi lalagpas ang total sa 30k. kung ikakatwiran nila na kasama ang special shift allowance, di naman yata makatarungan yun, kse di naman lahat meron nun(pano naman *** mga nasa AM shift or before 12mn ang pasok di ba?). best thing they could do, i think, is put the allowances in one big sum, around 3k and name it Cost of Living Allowance na lang, kumbaga sakop na nun lahat, meals, transpo, etc. at least patas sa lahat, regardless of shift. mas masaya pa lahat ng tao...

tingin nyo?
