Non compete agreements: Deal or No Deal?

How strict are these non-compete agreements? And what companies have these clauses? :)

marami sila pero ang masasabi ko lang...don't be afraid...i have a friend who signed a non-compete clause w/ crescent....so dinemanda siya....nung dinemanda siya, nasa hsbc na siya nun....humingi siya ng assistance sa PAO...oh well, the labor code is pro-laborer....she won....well, parang ganun kasi in the end, nakipagsettle ang crescent for 100K pesos
