We all know that actors in film and tv are paid with overpriced salaries. But i heard from people who used to work in one of these companies that a "backend" employee like him is treated contemptibly unimportant and is paid peanuts.
A video editor earns below 10k a month including overtimes?

I don't think all actors make "overpriced" talent fees. A lot of them need to get regular gigs or take on second jobs just to put food on the table.

a friend works in a tv company, and the starting salary is poor, but the benefits are great. he's been there for 2 years now and so far his salary is now ok *okay*

i'm currently employed as a video editor in one of the top producing film companies here in the philippines. Lucky that your friend earns 10k a month but in our case wer're only paid 9,1k a month plus the tax and other deductions. It also happened one time that they did'nt even pay for our overtime even they see us working there without even going home to take a rest. I pity myself and my co-employee

The company that youre working in sounds familiar as my other friend used to work as a web programmer there i think and his comments are similar to yours. The owner just gave them empty promises and sometimes unpaid OTs.

depende siguro what type of work ang ginagawa mo sa isang media company at kung gaano karami ang projects na hawak mo. for instance, i am producing promo spots (plugs) for a noontime show and an afternoon show, and the pay is ok. parang call center ang level nung pay. per project nga lang pero whenever matapos ang show mo, may papalit naman.:)
Ang bayad, depende sa rate ng show na hawak mo... :)
ang mga video editor sa amin, they get 200-400 pesos per hour depending sa seniority. Sa dami ng shows na ineedit sa network where I work, mahina na ang 12 hours a day. minsan, dun na natutulog ang mga editors at pumapatak ang kanilang metro...

they pay depends on the shows that you're handling .. per project kasi .. kr54 is right .. minsan walang tulugan sa editing .. kahit masarap matulog sa editing suite .. ehehehe
