just wanted to share this. my fraternity organized a symposium this week. the gist of it was described on page 1 of today's inquirer:
"for the past two decades, filipino geoscientists have contributed to the discovery of 40 of the world's major mines, accounting for nearly $500 billion (Php 24.4 trillion) worth of gold and copper.
there are currently 1,000 active filipino geologists working here and abroad.
