hello!
im newbie here!

does anyone here share their thoughts about living their current job?

in my case, i have been working for more than 3 years in a manufacturing industry somewhere in cavite so i live separately to my family because of my work.my reason why im planning to resigned is to have a new job into a new work environment and to live with my family in manila. I've longed to be with them that's why every weekend i go to manila even i'm scheduled for work at weekend and extend my vacation until monday to tuesday hehehe, most of my officemate tease me for my absences but of course deadma lang hehehe...(Take note single p ako ah......)

kayo bah???

nakakahiya. 6 mos. pa lang eh. hehe. actually before ako mag-apply dun sa company, I had in mind na ta-try ko lang talaga ang ganung klaseng job. In the first place ayaw ko naman talaga sa ganung nature ng work.

yeah me too, im currently working in one of our country's top financial institution for 4 yrs. Im already tired of it, I feel like a living robot who goes to work at 8 and eats lunch at 12 and chat with people and go back to the desk and leaves at 5 or 6. I feel like im a machine, hehe.

I want something for a change.

speeka!
you have to make up your mind before you end up in remorse.

ako, i talked to my parents and open up my sentiments to them about my work, they told me that its always my decision, as a parents the only thing they could is to support and guide their children.....so i'm decided. i will render my resignation after dis month.
however, wala p me work na lilipatan....
i know mahirap maghanap ng work now but what will i do... stay in the company that im no longer happy or seek for a job that provide me a new challenging task?

been thinking about it for a loooong time. i just don't have the guts to leave the institution that has given me so much. feeling ko na-tatrap ako ng utang ng loob which is wrong besides i'm already been with them for 8 years. i love what i do, but i just don't enjoy it anymore (not in my present environment). and to be honest, i don't think i could get the same "arrangements" with any company.

I'd like to share my experience with it.

I left my previous company for a number of reasons (I love the people there though, sans my f*****ng expat boss). Prior to that, I took the boards and I got something much more that I hoped for :naughty:

So in short, I resigned not having a new job to transfer to. I ended up being workless for six months.

Bottomline? Unless you wanna be broke, it's not advisable to leave your job if you don't have a job offer from another company.

My 2 cents.

same dilemma with speeka...

i really want to resign for this company im working for. ive been here for almost 3 years. i got accepted for a clerical position which is far related from my degree and i don't really enjoy what im doing here. i accepted the offer because i thought that to be a stepping stone for me to apply for technical position but since I applied here lots of opening for promotion has been presented but only applicable to those 2 years above of service which is not applicable for me during that time. Now that I'm almost 3 years here, freeze hiring policy is still being implemented, that impedes me to apply to a higher position :bop:

my task here is really not challenging plus the pay is really low except for the benefits that I can get . . .

i am currently looking for other company where i can transfer, preferable IT company.

Hi! I'm resigning without any job waiting for me. I'm not happy where I am and I think it's a good enough reason to leave the company (even if the pay is okay). BUT, I did prepare. I save up a little to maybe even start a very small business or money to spend while I look for other opportunities here or abroad.

I think I would feel more guilty if I stay because my being unhappy will eventually be reflected in my work and I don't want that to happen.

damn! i just quit my high paying job last year. with the same reason to most of you guys, mostly boredom. now im jobless more than a year now, im in technical field. i'd start applying for another company 5 mnths after i resigned. not getting lucky yet, untill now. because am a little picky, have couple of job interviews, still not getting lucky. i felt like im obsolete not economically viable anymore. good thing i worked a lot before and save a lot. shlt i miss my job!

Everyone will have their own personal reasons for leaving a job. The key is to know yourself and have a God-fearing attitude. Is this job stressful because of so much responsibility? Or is it because I don't get along with people? Or am I not competent enough for the job? Surprisingly, the bible says WHATEVER you do, do it with all your might! Put yourself into it, immerse yourself in what is required to do your job well because ultimately we work for God, not for our earthly employers. The more ungrateful the boss, the more we should work harder!

After a series of promotions in my last job, I realized it is not compatible with God's laws and statutes at a time when I was actually enjoying it albeit with the inherent office politics which I never really participate in but oftentimes trapped into by covetous, self-seeking individuals. Yet God always find a way to resolve issues in my favor.

Nevertheless, as more of God's truth is revealed to me, I decided to leave my job- which was very secure, well-paying w/ above average benefits. The key is to be wise in God's eyes and not to this world. To the world, including my closest friends and relatives, I was making a big mistake. I was a fool! Yet faith is made stronger when you can act like a fool but be wise in God's way of life.

Pray for God's guidance always. Study and understand God's truth. Do not pray for what you want but for what is within God's will and purpose because He knows it best. He is perfect! With the power to create or bring empires down! That is enormous power on your side.

Leaving a job for the wrong reasons is the worse thing you can do. Examine your own inner motivations, strengths and weaknesses. Are you prepared financially, emotionally and SPIRITUALLY to leave your job? Are you sure you are going into something you enjoy? Something you have a passion for? What does God think? God gave us His thoughts, His way of life, His will and purpose, His mindset in the bible. It contains practically the solution in every human dilemma we may run into. Have faith that if you do it with God on your side, you will be fine. That is a PROMISE from Him.

Nevertheless, I left my job to start trading full-time. The first year was tough but gradually got better w/ time. If you have the passion for something and you do it everyday, you are bound to learn something! he-he Anyway, there was enough capitalization to trade the markets, enough living expenses for a few years, an affordable health plan and NO DEBTS. I had to humble myself to a point where the trading business is sustainable for a few years without worrying about living expenses. That means paying off mortgages, car loans, credit card debts. I was lucky there was a housing bubble and selling my primary house gave the needed capitalization. Yet it is still an act of faith. It is a trade-off between perceived security (a job) and opportunity (a business you have a passion for). Yet I learned that Jesus came so that we may have life and more of it!!! The bible is full of men with great faith who do NOT have a spirit of fear but of POWER, of LOVE, and a SOUND MIND.

Trust God in everything that you do. He should be first in our life NOT the last one we consult when things go bad. Have God on your side as your primary partner and trust Him even when the going gets tough. As He knows what we need to strengthen us and make us ready and prepared for what lies ahead. God have the power and glory to affect things in His own time, NOT ours. Yet the promises are real and will be given at the right time. :)

For me, if you feel really really frustrated in your job and self-pity, unhappiness, anger/hate, regrets, are beginning to creep in your head, i would encourage you to resign. Why would you trade your happiness and sanity for any job security. Im sure mag-reresign ka rin in the end no matter how you prolong the resignation tska you wont be productive to do your present job if you fell like resigning. Nasa trabaho ka nga, para ka namang zoombie walang motivation mag-work and gusto mong ibalibag o kaya pagpupunitin ang mga ginagawa mo. Wag na lang, i'll take the risk na maging jobless ako kesa maubos ang oras ko sa bagay na araw araw na nakapagpapasama ng loob ko. Bka ikamatay ko pa.

Been in such situations and i also became jobless for couple of months but with perseverance a company offered me a job (higher pay and position kaya swertehan din!!).

Ako veteran na ako sa pagreresign, this is my 4th job already, and nagfile ulet ako ng resignation this month. Reason ko, di ko naramdaman ang "long term factor" ng company, basic benefits lang. The pay is good naman, wala din ako problem sa peeps, challenging din ang work, di nakakabore.

Pros and Cons lang... At least in my case

Pros:
(1) You get to experience more fields. Since IT kasi ako, dami ko na naranasan (web development, database, linux, device drivers, networks, etc.), good learning environment din naman kasi mga companies na pinasok ko.
(2) Self promotion! Took me 3 years from Junior to Senior position and I've tripled my very first salary in that span. Muwahahaha!

Cons:
(1) Nakakamiss mga peeps I've left behind. :-(

Note lang, dapat kahit nasaan ka, the important thing is you LOVE YOUR JOB and ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST!! Kaya kahit resign ka na, malapit pa rin ang loob ng mga naging Boss mo sa iyo. Yung isang job ko nga, nirefer ako ng previous boss ko eh.

BTW, huwag mag resign kung walang planong kasunod, tiis kayo muna, until you find a better more rewarding job.

hi virgodette!

If you are no longer comfortable with your boss then there's no reason for you to stay.Your boss can make you feel burden:grrr: You might didn't know your uneasiness with your boss might reflect on your job:confused:
If you can still bear with your boss and you can still divert your attention to get rid of him then stay...but if you can't stand him any longer then decide...

Same here!

Been thinking about it lately, however, i'm not having problems with the people here in the office. Siguro, i'm just in a phase in my life na i want to be somewhere else, experience something that will impact my life forever. Weird, i know.

I'm actually thinking of going out of the country. I'm even willing to take any kind of work (as in). I just hope and pray an opportunity will come my way.

Help me(us), Lord.

hi guys. ive been wanting to quit too.ive only been with the company for 8 months (6 months mgt training program & 2 months regular) and i feel like ive aged sobra. everyday ive been dreading to go to work tapos i feel anxious when im doing my job pa kasi anlaki ng risk exposure ko (500k to 1m) and as much as i want to do a good job and be maingat, hindi ko magawa dahil sa pressure ng oras (at ng boss).. nakakainis lang din kse minsan nadadala ko sa bahay yung feeling na nakukuha ko sa trabaho...nakakapraning sobra... the only thing **** na cinoconsider ko ngayon is yung bond or kung kelan ba yung right time....would it actually look better sa resume kung 1 yr work experience than 8 months? or it wouldn't matter much at all?....how should you advise your superiors na you want to resign?

greencouchgirl
Mar 9, 2007, 07:14 PM
it doesn't matter the time you spent on the company..what matters most is you know how to handle the interviews..you know what you are heading to..you have to be practical and smart wise when it comes to interviews you dont have to pretend bcoz in the long run of the interview they will know you lied them...so don't be...
how should you advise your superiors na you want to resign? well you have to talked to them.lay your reason...dapat reasonable hindi mukhang alibi *** juz like escaping your work...juz be yourself...

ako i'm planning to resign and the reason is hindi fair yung compensation... meron akong kasama dito sa department namin, same position kami, same job responsibilities (minsan pa nga mas marami pa yung sa akin), at mas matagal akong nasa kumpanya kesa sa kanya (1 and a half year pa lang siya, magti-three years na ko) pero mas malaki ang sweldo nya kesa sa kin. i talked to my boss about it and ang sabi it's because my co-worker needs it more daw kasi may pamilya siya.... ano ba namang klaseng rason yun.... kelangan ko ba ng ibang rason other than a good performance para taasan yung sweldo? nakaka-inis!

yun nga lang syempre may hesitancy rin... three years na ko so hirap mag-start ulit sa ibang kumpanya. plus compared to other companies (yes, nag-research ako) comparatively higher pa rin ang pay ko for my position.

so what do you guys think?

I suggest na when asking for a raise (which you think you deserve) never reason out na mas mataas ang natatangap ng officemate mo kesa sayo tapos mas matagal ka na or mas madaming workload etc.. kasi in the first place hindi mo naman dapat alam ang sweldo niya, kaya nga confidential ang bagay na yun, dapat when you asked for a raise sabihin mo na you think it's time that they give you a raise, dahil sa dami ng trabaho mo etc, at siyempre alam mong para sayo dapat yun dahil nga mas mataas pa yung co-worker mo sayo, kasi di mo dapat sabihin yun, gawin mo lang basis if you deserve what you're asking for or not
