Hey all! I want to see who and what is up with Sutherland. Balita ko 2 sites na and still growing. I wanna know if there is anything worth knowing about!! Let's see what you all have to say. :rotflmao:

I heard that the Clark site is amazing as far as facility is concerned. Meron daw basketball court, videoke and playstation for the employees!!! As far as management...good daw ang iba pero super bad and super baho daw mga Indian delegation!! :eek: D daw ma sikmura ng isang visor ng quality!!!! :p

well sabi nila nung bago pa lang yang sutherland e maganda naman, napasukan lang ng mga "masasamang loob" na mga managers. sana lang magbago na sila sa mga disputes sa salary at baka layasan na sila ng mga agents nila :rotflmao: ayusin na din nila pamamalakad nila dahil mas kumakampi sila sa management kesa sa agents na di dapat kasi ang mga agents ang nag-gegenerate ng revenue para sa company hindi ba? :rolleyes:

You are right! I have talked to many employees and they all seem to be happy but some of the managment team seems to side with each other!! Pero yung ibang managers super kool daw! The SR. manager for the site who I will call J is super kool and the training mgr name natin R super din. Pero I've heard most are ok unless they are in Ops!! haha

i dont hate sutherland...it seems like a strong word... i love suth... i love the people who started the company in the country...but the current management.....mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm can i give you their good side in 100 years??? let me think about it first?
Suth management needs to get their acts straight...with the new companies that are coming in mmmmm turn over rate will be higher than expected.
It's not just the choice to whose side to choose. It's plain and logical thinking...Who's right and who's wrong....loyalty to your friends or co-workers because you guys came from the same company sucks... diversity should be present... (parang ang labo mmmm)

As for news of other sites...Iloilo meron na Suth COL there and Davao ata next site for center.

Well chismis sa Suth Clark...they have 2 plazas with a capacity of 500 on each side plus the training annex. Microsoft is looking to put agents in Suth Clark!!! They will build a new building that is 4000 sq meters!! Making more room at Clark!! Growing growing!!!
Yup Traninig Mgr "R" was kinda a spy for Suth USA to see if the Phil team was doing well and that they were happy. He is a Filam born and raised in Hawaii but he did learn tagalog while going to school in UP and Ateneo. Nice person easy to talk to and very for the agents!!! :)
Sori u didnt stay long at Suth Angelica0707. Im sure you are missed.

Here is what I know...for agents
Makati rate are higher since is it more expensive to live in MM. 12-15k plus allowance of 4200.
Clark is paying provincial rate from 8k-12k plus 4200.
Don't quote me on this please. I have only heard this is the range.
of course supervisors make more and managers even more.

I agree with Cartz, all data submitted to your HR Payroll came from your sup. Hence, if the company failed to pay you for some hours, then ask your supervisor before asking your HR and before complaining. If you sup blames HR then ask them for a round table. Often, its your sups failure to submit a correct data. HR just process those data to monetary value.

Prublema internal hiring na lang ang BB...buhhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhu. sniff hikbi....ako talaga sinumpa na ng kapalaran na palaging _ _ _ _ ang account na mapupuntuhan ko. Pati yung na -final interview ako ng country manager nadiskubre ko kaya pala ako na-consider ay dahil magkakaroon rin sila ng _ _ _ _ account.

I've been with Suth for a year and so far happy naman ako. Mas malaki pa sweldo ko dun sa previous company ko as agent pero mas masaya ako dito. Siguro it's not the money talaga.. fulfilled ako sa work because I got promoted after 5 months of being with the company and the management peeps are friendly di ka mai intimidate kaya tendency is lalabas talaga galing mo hehe.. sa mga interesado mag apply dito go lang.. salary is ok competitive naman just dont expect 30K ha! :lol:

Balik ka na...I'l be starting in Suth this march 19, 2007. I'm going to sign the contract these coming march 10 in one of their job fairs here in Baguio. I applied for the TSR position but they gave me a CSR position for a billing account. (Not sure of the account) Anyone knows what the account is? and they are only offering me 10k plus 4200 and ND. I have 2 yrs call center experience. Anyone can give me insights regarding these? Thanks!

guys, please preserve confidential information with regards to sutherland. remember a non-disclosure clause is part of the contract you have signed. be cautious about this.

I guess you need to clear that one out with Sutherland...but as far as i know it does work that way...
We can't disclose the salary here but I can tell you its very competitive.

*** 15 days VL and 15 days SL pro-rated yan pagka regular mo... you will only be entitled to 7.5 days for VL and 7.5 days for SL... Basically you are earning 1.25 days SL and 1.25 days VL each month... so do the math... ;) you need to complete one whole year before you can avail of the 15 days.
They have regularization increase based on you performance. Di ito fixed. If you are an average performer di masyado malaki...kung excellent, medyo malaki compared to average. Yun ang maganda sa suth. Same with annual increases. It's not seniority, its your performance. Un ang basis nila for increases....

*** 15 days VL and 15 days SL pro-rated yan pagka regular mo... you will only be entitled to 7.5 days for VL and 7.5 days for SL... Basically you are earning 1.25 days SL and 1.25 days VL each month... so do the math... ;) you need to complete one whole year before you can avail of the 15 days.
They have regularization increase based on you performance. Di ito fixed. If you are an average performer di masyado malaki...kung excellent, medyo malaki compared to average. Yun ang maganda sa suth. Same with annual increases. It's not seniority, its your performance. Un ang basis nila for increases....
maximum increase of 15% of the basic pay upon regularization..:)

2. We have basic pay + allowances

Pahabol na tanong lang po... I heard this thing about Non-Compete Clause wherein you cannot work with another call center company until 1yr after you get out from that previous call center company. Does Suth have this NCC issue with other call centers?

I heard about this. With penalties though, I would say that its a company prerogative whether they will include suspension in their schedule of offenses. Some doesn't believe in suspension so they just give final warnings.
I would agree though with your other statements. I also agreed that if one employee/subordinate fails to do their job because the supervisor failed to do the right coaching, then the supervisor should be reprimanded too. It's a basic rule particularly if there's really a lack of support or guidance from the sup. Not opening an argument here ok? Just my thoughts

I'm a fresh graduate and I really want to apply in Sutherland but I'm having second thoughts... I saw all the posts here in PEX and it seems that the culture is great but the management is not that good... I tried searching the net for sutherland and i found out that the mother company is Sutherland Global Services in Rochester, New York and they are facing a class law suit. Apparently, they are not paying their employees overtime and/or commissions since October of 2002.

Okay naman payroll dito sa Suth Philippines (Makati and Clark). Minsan may dispute pero depende naman talaga yan sa TL/Sup nila. If they're plotting the scheds, approving OTs and fixing punches on a regular basis like what I do, then agents won't have any pay disputes.
Agents in our account render OT everyday and my team doesn't have any problems with their pay every cut-off.

CSR ako and I was terminated also because of my supervisor who failed to coach and guide me.....sayang ang potential ng company kung bulok ang management....Kung ako sa kanila...total overhaul ko ito.....to those who are thinking about applying here...please....wag na lang kung ayaw niyo masayang oras niyo...the pay is ok...pero ano naman ang kapalit? oras.....kung ako sa inyo...mag apply na lang kayo sa stable call centers like people support, convergys or sykes....mahirap nga pero at least sigurado kayo na hindi sayang ang oras niyo...and besides....di nga kilala ang call center nato eh.....:D

one day nga processing nila. i was told that i passed the hiring process and was asked to pass the 5 major requirements including the medical. I was surprised because after passing those 5 me exam na naman daw which is the typing exam luckily i met the required speed kasi 35 wpm ako then came the job offer as a matter of fact they really have an attractive compensation ang taas talaga.
for orientation na ako next week for UOL Customer Service acount.
When i read the agreement and read about the "with or without cause for termination" baka hindi ko na ako tumuloy dito.

@ beback: naku wag ka nang bumalik walang kwenta dyan. i'm glad wala na din dyan yung friend ko at nakahanap sya ng mas matinong company. puro pa dispute at panay naman ang pa-OT. yung iba nga nyang natira inalis na lang basta, di na lang nilipat ng ibang account. ayos talaga no? feeling nila sa mga agents "disposable" na kung tutuusin mas matalino pa sa mga manager dun dahil yung iba nag-mamasteral o kaya nag-rereview na lang para sa board exams. ang huling balita nga niya may referral bonus na 777 ata, na pag may narefer ka na 3 agents, may 7k ka ata. hay naku malulugi lang sila dahil kahit magkano pa ang itaas ng sahod mo at anu-ano pang referral bonus ang ipakulo nila, kung di ka masaya sa management at lagi kang kabado na alisin, lipat na lang.
try mo sa teletech pasay, hiring sila ng email support agents at alam ko dayshift pa, monday to friday ata. may kakilala kasi akong natanggap dun. pag naregular naman mas gaganda pa ang benefits. although di ganun kalaki sahod kesa suth, madami na din nagsabi na maalaga sila sa employees. pwede mo rin try sa EnfraUSA o kaya NuComm.

Just recently had a series of email exchanges - member of an online outsourcing forum - with a top executive of an online retailer handling email outsourcing; satisfied sila sa Philippine operations and they are closing down their other foreign sites and concentrating their farm-out contract to the Philippines. Yes, dadami pa ang email support jobs sa Philippine outsourcers though he further pointed out that they have the economies of scale to simply do their operations in-house. He even made an "off-the-cuff" remark that the members of the directors frequently get emails on the low salaries given by Philippine outsourcers and egging them to just junk the outsourcer and establish an in-house operation in this country.

Yes, dadami pa ang email support jobs sa Philippine outsourcers though he further pointed out that they have the economies of scale to simply do their operations in-house. He even made an "off-the-cuff" remark that the members of the directors frequently get emails on the low salaries given by Philippine outsourcers and egging them to just junk the outsourcer and establish an in-house operation in this country.

I heard maganda sa IBM daksh dahil marunong sila mag-alaga ng employees. kung long-term employment sa call center ang hanap, dapat di lang yung sweldo ang iniisip. pansin ko lang kasi, madaming bagong call center ang nag-ooffer ng malaking salary pero kulang naman sa benefits kaya madaming employees din ang nagsisialisan o kaya ayaw ayusin ang problem sa management. wala lang, naisip ko lang :p

They dont believe in consequence management di po ba before ka MA TERMINATE dadaan ka muna sa written warnings etc. This company was sued by thousands of employees in US because of neverending payroll disputes grabeh mag ask ng OT di naman daw binabayaran. Nung nag start yung training namin 30 kami now were only 18. Every step of the way me termination. Magdala ka lang ng tobleron or cap sa loob me infraction paper ka na kaagad galing sa guard on duty.....and napansin ko lang yung mga best agents yung tinatanggal nila (my colleague works here in a paypal acct). To all who are planning to join good luck na lang sa inyo.

hey! i stumbled upon this thread while following posts about a certain manager from his previous call center to here...mixed emotions talaga mararamdaman mo dito, there's the easy accounts and cool work atmosphere on the one hand, and all other problems on the other. but i don't think the company's any better or worse than the industry leaders. ako so far masaya pa, nasa tao naman yan e, masaya din ako with the thought that i can up and go anytime i want... daming call centers na may email account diba?

What's the interview process like if you apply in person? What if you apply by e-mail? Do they call you? Whether in person or by phone, do they tell you after the interview if you've made it to the next step, or do they tell you <crap?> "like we'll be in touch after we check out the other applications" instead of saying that you didn't make it to the next stage?

Coz I would definitely prefer to be told "I'm sorry, but you aren't good enough"... or maybe "We don like you dude!"... as long as they're frank rather than 'trying not to hurt my feelings'.... experienced that crap with all the call centers I've applied to so far... they tell you crap like "We'll call you... blah blah blah".... I'd like to at least get some feedback on how badly I did in an interview so that I can improve my interview skills... so if Sutherland does the same as all those other companies, then I'd like to know so I can be prepared for it... anyone?

Anyway, with regard to the topic at hand, i'm in the middle of loving and hating suth...
Why?
Love it because in less that a year's time, i got promoted TWICE. Started here November last year, got my first promotion as a Senior Agent last May, and now, i already am a Program Supervisor since October. Not bad, huh?
hate it because in some accounts, the management just sucks! In one of the tech accounts here in Makati, the management is so anti-agents that they have to let go of one person i know that didn't do anything wrong. from what i heard, the head honcho of this acct decided to remove the person so as to preserve good client relations daw.
Oh, and one more thing, PAY DISPUTES! I was with sykes for a year back in 2004 and ang masasabi ko lang, pag nagkaroon ka ng dispute sa sykes, katangahan mo na yun!

sutherland really are a scary company and i would have to say to anybody thinking of applying there to forget it as they simply cannot handle staff or even look after them. I am sorry to say this as i was involved in the strat up her in manila and i became deeply disappointed in the way they treated people. bullying and intimidation are rife within the company and a small mafia contraol the operation here in the Philippines. They have an even worse record in India. so dont say you werent warned salamat po

sa local tv news dito pinalabas...bigla kasi nawala ang mga taga sutherland bago pa matapos ang training nila...nawala ang bus, ang mga gamit, yung mga offices nakasara...so nag freak out ang mga trainees...ayun pina-TV...nung na TV...biglang nagsibalikan sila dito at nag hiring ulit na parang walang nangyari at ang batch 2 trainees ayun babooo na...di na nakapasok pa....ito ang call center na walang batch 2 or wave 2 ever hehehehhe.....
gusto ko pumasok kasi, happy pa naman halos lahat ng mga nakakausap ko dito...baka mag bago na dito sa davao ang sutherland...14t ang opening with all the benefits.....

passed the initial interview. i told my interviewer that i'm interested in applying for a daytime job because i have classes at 6-9pm twice a week. i read from one the threads that sutherland offers a daytime job that will not conflict my class schedule, ayan ang dahilan kaya nag apply ako. and i stressed that to my interviewer. sabi nya the account i'm referring to is not yet hiring, wait daw ako na mag open, ok naman sakin.
kinabukasan, thursday, a recruiter contacted me and asked me to be at their office at 1:15pm friday for my language interview. i asked the recruiter if the account i'm interested in applying for is already open, hindi sya nagbigay ng ibang info, basta language interview ko daw yun, go naman ako.

AGAIN, I TOLD THE RECRUITER THAT I'M INTERESTED IN APPLYING FOR A DAYTIME JOB BUT MY INTERVIEWER TOLD ME THAT THE ACCOUNT IS NOT YET OPEN, WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THE ACCOUNT IS ALREADY HIRING. EXPLAINED TO HER THAT IM IN SCHOOL YADDA YADDA. sabi nya YES, THEY'RE HIRING, THEY OPENED YESTERDAY LANG.

Kahit mag escalate ka pa sa HR head masasayang lang laway mo. Sa Suth ang patakaran ay sindakan, sobrang walang professionalism pero wala pa din gnagawa HR kse mga wala ng pakialam. At kung taga Suth ka naman at balak mag resign goodluck sa mga backpay nyo be prepared to wait for more than 3 months dahil again India daw ang nag pro process. All i can say is, Suth is good training ground for people with no experience, when i was there i jumped 6 positions.. However they underpay people.. 45K for a Program Manager? -Provincial rate daw eh..
Winded up w/ a dream job; because of COPC & Six Sigma.. Although it takes 12 hours of labor a day including restdays and for you to submit to your Manager's bidding.

haha totoong totoo talaga! nagmamalaki pa sila na dumadami na sites nila e strategy yun kasi sa province mahirap maghanap ng work kaya dun na lang sila. sa makati kasi although madami nag-aaply, madami talagang umaalis. tignan nyo puro na lang negative feedback tong sutherland. dalawang taon na nagmamaganda na. palibhasa natatakot na sila dahil tambak na kaso nila sa nlrc. baka kaya gusto nila sa province para malayo sa labor :rotflmao: sabagay meron din naman pwede din sumbungan dun pero hassle na. as in andami kong kakilala na umaabot sa langit ang galit dahil daw antagal makuha backpay tapos kulang pa! tapos yung hr pa daw ansusungit at galit pa na sasabihin na within 30-45 days naman talaga yung waiting period. di ba nahihiya yung mga nagma-manage sa suth at napa-media na ang suth? matitigas na ata talaga mga muka e di na natatablan :rotflmao:

i was with sgs for more than 2 yrs, kelangan ko umalis dahil nasusuka ako sa mala-palengkeng environment sa 21st flr (not the email support)..at ang SPM dun eh napaka manyakis, mahilig mang himas..yung bagong promote na PM dun at APM? naku, daig pa ang linta sa pagkapit sa SPM na kulot..kakaiba talaga sila...
yung mga TL dun sobrang yayabang, lalo na yung 2 matabang TL na lalake, na walang ginawa kundi makipag inuman sa mga agents nila, ang galing pa magmanipula ng iroz at QA ng mga agents nila ha..tsk tsk tsk..ako nga yung 4 na absent ko naging zero dahil sa 'magic' ni TL eh.at eto pa, tinanatnaong pa kung ilang oras na OTRD ang gsuto ko ha.. galing talaga ni pardz..sana lang di sya mabuko sa mga pinag gagagawa nya...

Usually Companies remit SSS contributions by quarter, this is to minimize overflow in paperwork..

Correction there are 3 Reps who came from NetS***** who became Program Managers... One is your current PM and the other was one of my reps who now takes care of PPNA..
Pero yeah.. i miss everyone there.. sayang the people was ok.. it's just that suth doesn't know how to take care of it's home grown talent..

You know just a word of advice, make this as your least of your priority companies. Backread on some threads, you would see that it would be your biggest mistake in working here.

sa local tv news dito pinalabas...bigla kasi nawala ang mga taga sutherland bago pa matapos ang training nila...nawala ang bus, ang mga gamit, yung mga offices nakasara...so nag freak out ang mga trainees...ayun pina-TV...nung na TV...biglang nagsibalikan sila dito at nag hiring ulit na parang walang nangyari at ang batch 2 trainees ayun babooo na...di na nakapasok pa....ito ang call center na walang batch 2 or wave 2 ever hehehehhe.....
gusto ko pumasok kasi, happy pa naman halos lahat ng mga nakakausap ko dito...baka mag bago na dito sa davao ang sutherland...14t ang opening with all the benefits.....
Yung 14k ba may allowances na yan? ano ba mga account sa suth davao? Tsaka is it true na pag experienced agent ka mas malaki ang job offer mo kaysa sa mga newbie sa industry?

in all fairness naman kina Boss Ken and Boss Toni, mababait talaga sila.. most of the TLs are nice din.. i love the transparency thing namin dun.. dami ko pa namang nakilalang friends dun... sayang lang talaga kasi bihira lang ang tumatagal sa Retention.. mas marami pa ang umaalis dahil sa nature ng account kaysa sa payroll disputes..

again just a reminder sa mga kukuha ng backpay nila. tignan nyo ng mabuti kung may dispute kayo kasi style na talaga ng suth na gawan ng "magic" ang backpay. kung maayos naman backpay mo, swerte mo na lang. pero andami kong kasama na may kulang pa yung backpay pero hinayaan nila kaysa ma-high blood sa mga incompetent na taga accounting at masusungit na hr. sa dami ng may dispute sa backpay, malaki ang nase-save nila o "nakukupit" kasi pinagtrabahuhan ng empleyado naman yun :grrr: kaya kung may dispute kayo, punta kayo sa nlrc kasi takot sila dun. sa una hindi sila pupunta pero sa huli pupunta din sa mga hearing kasi iwas sila demanda. pero wais din talaga tong suth kasi may 2-3 buwan pa sila para maghanda sa complaint at yung kulang mo sa backpay e napapakinabangan pa nila ng matagal :grrr:
naku, baka maging problema ko to..when i got my last pay, nagkaron pako ng dispute kze *** isang VL ko naging unpaid..siguro kung may isa man akong reklamo sa suth, yung mga pay disputes, grabe talaga!minsan naisip ko mag-apply sa payroll department..:lol:

ako, i have decided to leave sutherland and one of the reason is PAYROLL DISPUTE... as always di na nila na solve *** problem na yan and now pinasa na nila sa India *** pag bibilang ng suswelduhin ng mga tao nila.
every payday may dispute ako, and i have suggested na nga na sana magkaron ng raffle para sa may mga dispute forms haha!
*** ana viray?! ay oo nagtataray ng walang karapatan... gusto ko nga bigyan ng kape para kabahan ng konte hehehe... sa hr - dalawang milo ang kaibigan ko... si milo cabards at si milo beks... mababait yan mga yan, nahahalo lang sa mga may UGALI kaya akala ng iba bad na sila...
at isa pa sobrang bagal ng pag process ng kung anu man papel sa HR jan, *** itr ko nga ako pa naghanap kasi di nila naiforward sa sup ko, un *** nasa block buster, eh ebay ako... kamusta naman? hinalungkat ko ang 4 na dangkal ng itr forms!
isa pa, *** payslip, kamusta naman na after 48 yrs saka mo pa lang maipi-print *** payslip mo? hay life! almost 2 yrs na din ako sa suth, and ma eend lang sa april 7... moving forward na po ako! yey....

hahaha naku style na nga nila yan kasi nag-eexpand pa sila kaya yung mga ibang pera tinatabi nila muna kagaya ng sweldo ng employees siguro :D dalawang taon na yang suth hanggang ngayon wala pa silang sistemang matino? maiintindihan natin kung bagong call center pa talaga sila eh. naku manalangin na lang kayo na hindi kayo mahigh blood pag nakuha nyo yung backpay nyo hehe!
yung isang hr na parang bading, gail ata name nun, isa pang masungit yung bwisit na yun. hindi ko alam kung nandyan pa yun. daming bwisit dyan kaya yung matitino nadadamay.

as unfortunate as that statement may be, i have to agree. in my year and a half in this company, i have seen so many good people go. there is a serious leadership crisis in sutherland, aggravated by amateurish people management. such a pity. :mecry:

In the 1st half of 2006 - when I was still there - I only had a pay dispute once. That was a regular holiday but paid a premium for only a special holiday.

I've had disputed fortunately they were able to resolve it by next payroll. But everything is still toxic.. But I can say I'm still happy with the people I'm working with.
They are also aligning all salaries, so good news to all internally hired people. I think they started with the supervisor's salary already.

I was talking to a colleague today who has a friend in Suth-Clark and he mentioned that Suth sent 4 employees/reps to the U.S. for client training... but instead of going back to Clark after the training, they didn't go back to the Philippines instead... they went TNT. It also goes to say that Suth mgmt had decided to cancel other the planned trips of their other personnel to the U.S.
Can someone confirm or deny this rumor if it's true?

They had issues with that account wherein agents went TNT in US, but they are still planning on sending other people to US for training on same account. Actually they sent more than 4 people and most of them came back.

Hi everyone. I applied yesterday at Sutherland and is now scheduled for training on Monday. They offered me 13,000 pesos salary and 4000 allowance. I will have a 300 a day payment while still in training. I just want to ask if this is a good deal? How sure 'em I that I will land the CSR UK account and the 17,000 compensation that they promised after I completed the training? By the way, I'm a fresh graduate with zero working experience.
I'm I being to picky for having doubts about the company and should just accept the offer or should I still look for another opportunity at a different call center?
I need your thoughts guys before its too late.....

Hi. The 17,000 they promised is, of course, the sum of 13000 and 4000. This is the standard deal for the compensation of the account. Of course, you would have to hurdle the training and certification assessments, thus, it would be up to you if you could land the CSR UK account. :)
