I would like to apply as a CSR, I only reached 2nd year 1st sem. I wasn't able to enroll for the 2nd sem because of financial problems that time. By the year 2000 I had the chance to work for Mcdonalds Mid-East and 2 years later I became an assistant manager. By 2003, Mcdonalds gave me the chance to study in their own learning center (Mcdonalds Training Learning & Dev't. Center in Riyadh). By May 2005, I have successfully completed the Course(Systems Management Course). I came back home the same year. I really want to work in a call center. Any advice??

For as long as you have the skills, any call center can hire you.

jeruel1977,
as long as you have the skills (i.e. conversational english). tapos yung reqt sa educ background depende eh, like sa PeopleSupport at least tapos mo yung second year college but with your experience naman abroad that would count naman siguro.
some CC have call simulations after or before initial interview so just relax, wag na wag kang magpapanic.... kelangan marunong kang mag-call control meaning, ikaw yung nagdadala ng usapan ndi yung kausap mo, empathy is also important, actually A MUST. *okay*

I myself is an ex OFW from Taiwan. At first its really hard to apply in a call center because you might have a culture shock. Wayback in 2004, most call centers have just started their operations and some interviewers are even expats. As long as you have confidence I believe you can make it but salary wise, even though its starting salary is way above most Philippine companies its really small or a pittance compared to your salary abroad.
But nothing beats being with your loved ones so you must make
adjustments with your salary. I applied March 1, 2004 and fortunately March 28 first day ko na sa call center.
tumataas ang confidence mo kasi pare pareho lang naman ang tanong gaya ng 1. tell me about yourself 2. what are your strenghts
and weaknessses. 3. tell me about yourself which is not included in your resume 4. what skills can you contribute to the growth of the
company 5. and since you are an ex ofw expect questions abt your
work experience from abroad, culture doon and ano ang feelings mo
while working abroad.

go!

If this is your first time to apply in a callcenter you will be having problems with your confidence and how the way you express yourself in english you may wanna take some english refresher course. if failing in an interview is not an option or being rejected by the HRD. a lot of pitfalls will come your way. why not try ambergris for a start it's a group interview one of you gets to stand up and introduce yourself and state your reason why do you want to work in a call center. I'am just giving you a head start. try to look in a mirror and practice pronouncing the words correctly like a declamation. try to imitate some of the words on television specifically english movies or tv series it will help you alot.
