i know the fact that to be able to work in a call center company, it requires excellent English skills. But does it mean that you must speak English like the Americans do? :confused:

Some call centers, like Convergys, do not require the applicant to have an American accent upon hiring. As long as you have an excellent english communication skills, you're good to go. They provide Communication and Culture Training or CCT to take care of that.

Just don't forget to add in confidence, and you're hired!

I've seen and heard of people with regional accents working on the production floor of call centers. And these are call centers where the hiring rate is 4% or less. Even saw people who have difficulties paraphrasing a customer's concern in writing...grammatically challenged - pero nasa production floor na sila ng email support!
