the reason im asking this is that because my friend went AWOL dahil sa mga salary issues sa dati niyang center. ( didnt meet the basic salary,)
hope to hear from you guys. thanks

Kapag nakilala o natanddan kayo, baka timbrehan nila yung ibang call centers.
If you plan to leave, do it properly. Don't burn bridges. The industry is small. Word gets around. Malay niyo, somewhere down the road, you might want to go back to your previous call center or they may want to rehire you but at a higher position pero dahil nag AWOL ka, sira chances mo.

There's never a reason for going AWOL unless it's a matter of life and death. Anything less is unprofessional and unbecoming of a salaried man. Job hoppers are always the lowest type of workers, just a few words above the common criminal.

Correct... just do it the right way... we're all professionals here... even if we are working a call ceter, and going on AWOL is something that is nothing less than unprofessional. Besides the time that you spent in the company can never be replaced... you can't turn back time... so make the most out of it and if you call it quits, then you have the proper way.... just a tip... :)

it's a normal practice being done by a lot of call center agents. though it is not proper to do this because you never know when one of those call centers do check up from your previous call center and check on you and it is also unprofessional if you do this. it shows immaturity and irresponsibility.

yeah, i know
well, here's the story.
my friend is receiving 4 to 5k every cut off. his basic salary is 14k + 1k for the allowance.
it only shows how unprofessional that call center is, just to get even, even i convinced him to resign properly.. he went AWOL.
sabagay, kung ginago ka..gaguhin mo din..

really? well it may be a case2case basis.. kasi if your basic salary is 14k and assuming 1k is non-taxable... so sa 7k na basic, tpos single status, approx. w./tax is 1020.75
but that is just an est and don't qoute me on that wahehehe ;)
anyway, if your friend wanted to leave the company, he could have just done it in a more responsible way... nagawa na nia so wala na tayo magagawa...
the question is how will your friend be able to defend himself in the event he was questioned during the interview? will he tell everything or hide it? un *** po

That is never a justification for doing something unethical. In the end, ikaw pa din ang TALO. Your previous company may just decide to warn the other companies in your industry about you and make it difficult for you to find employment elsewhere.
Sinong **** ngayon?

Yes, you need to file your resignation.

It's like you're forcing the company to terminate you when you do this. When a company terminates you, you dont have to pay for the bond and you're cleared, cause the company is the one who terminated the agreement. Unlike pag nag resign ka ng maayos, you will have to pay the bond if you're still under the agreement.

I do have a lot of HR friends from BPOs and this is one of our favorite topic.
284 and 285 of the labor code.
Remember there is such a thing as a "cordon sanitaire".

if he had no bond to worry about why did he go AWOL? most people who goes AWOL work in call centers that has a bond and that's basically the main reason why they don't resign properly is because of the fear of paying the bond hence they go AWOL.

Hindi lang Citibank at Accenture, trust me may mga lawyers at HR network ako na medyo malawak but I am not at liberty to discuss such things here. Going AWOL has always been covered with a bond..."gasgas" na style na iyan. Just read the your contracts and you will see.
Ang mag-ingat kayo yung pwede kayong singilin ng bond for poor performance without any safeguards against those who did not deliberately fail metrics - that is patently illegal and the contract is void "ab-initio".

question po:
i resigned na sa company ko ngayon kaya lang we signed a contract na dapat 3 months notice. ang nilagay ko sa resignation letter ko is 1 month lang and sabi ng boss ko, I signed the contract and i should follow it, kasi pag hindi raw, i will not be cleared.
kaya lang i am required na to start one month from now sa other company. alam nila na 3 months yun waiting ko and kung hindi raw ako makakapagstart sa given start date, ibibgay daw sa iba yung post and / or icoconsider daw ako sa ibang position which is magiging bagong application daw.
so what will happen po ba to me if didn't finish the 3 months notice period stipulated sa contract? well, tatapusin ko yung 1 month pero yung months is AWOL na. advise pls. thank you

dapat talaga fina-follow yung contract. you signed it and you're bound to say YES all the time so long as the contract covers it.
try asking your OM kung pwede mag-leave of absence ka na lang for your remaining 2 months, o kaya i-spend mo na yung remaining sick and vacation leaves mo.
meron din akong iba pang naisip ...
you can ask your superiors kung pwedeng mag-immediate resignation ka na lang. eto ginawa ko sa teletech noong nag-resign ako sa kanila. alam ko "not for rehire" na rin ang magiging status mo sa kanila pero okay lang yun (ako for re-hire pa rin kc wala akong bad records). anyway, bihira naman yung isusubo mo pa ulit yung sinuka mo na eh (as what a TP applicant said).
if they dont agree with the immediate resignation, you can ask a general physician or any other doctor to make a note for you para mapayagan ka ng immediate resignation. yung officemate ko sa teletech hindi sya pinayagan mag-resign, so ginawa nyang excuse yung meron syang nakakahawang sakit. of course, the sups gave in. LOL! yung isang teammate ko na magre-resign ngayon, ginawa nyang medical reason yung "STRESS". we're still awaiting confirmation. pag pinayagan sya, yun din gagawin kong reason if ever. LOL!
