View Full Version : Call Center Peepz na naco-commute

swirlychoco
Mar 9, 2007, 02:25 PM
Hi guys! through this thread, we will help each other out lalo na sa mga nagko-commute. Safest routes, safest cabs, or mga bus. We all know na may mga shift tayo na sobrang alanganing oras, or baka may alam kayo na routes na iwas traffic, iwas holdap etc :D

If you have ideas din para dun sa mga nag-iisip mag-taxi going to work, especially kung ang shift mo falls between 9pm-6am, we all know na wala ng MRT by that time, so nagtataxi ba kayo? If bus, hindi ba delikado?

you can also post here kung ano mga sinasakyan nyo before and after work, where you get off etc.

:bashful:

start shift : 9pm/10pm

i get the cab from baclaran
taxi cab... going to makati...
pero maraming stop over usually mas available

;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

yaiiikkssss..i share your agony. kasi magiging 5am na shift ko and iniisip ko pa lang, nabwibwisit na ako hehehehe

i'm thinking of taking a cab papasok, pero mahal yun masyado. Although one of my friends recommended yung number ng R&E and MGE kasi you can arrange for a pick-up naman daw.

bad trip naman kung stay sa sleeping quarters ng 10pm or 11pm and sabi mo nga, may mumu pa yun or worst, bangungutin pa ako.

hayyyy....buhay call center....

As for me... my shift starts 1:00 AM, before it was 6am, 9am, then moved to 3am, then 1:30am and now.. again its 1am... I don't have any problems during the morning shift since all it takes is a trike and LRT, but during the late night shift or reversed midshift, I have to walk (on a dark main road), then take a cab... ---- i don't know what's gonna happen next month since my account will be moving to Q.Ave... and a lot of incidents have been reported for hold-up men roaming around snatching women's bags, mobbing peeps walking alone... scary isn't?

I'll probably give you guys more updates once we move to that location... hehehe

I may also suggest you keep a copy of any emergency phone numbers from your company has. We have an emergency trunk line we could contact per site and they would immediately notify the nearest police station and would notify your supervisor / WFM in the event of the delay you would be reporting for work.

thanks otakusenshi :)

Im from Panay Ave (that's the one next to Quezon Ave) and my shift will start na from 5:30am so mga 4am-4:30 am kailangan ko na maglakad palabas ng EDSA para mag-bus papuntang crossing.

Ganun yun.

I am from Tondo. I've always been in the morning shift, but, starting this DST week, I will be moving to the 5:30 AM shift. What time ba ang first trip ng LRT?

Trust me. Nagawa ko na kanina. I was at the LRT station 4:40am. They were still closed. They 'opened the gates' 4:50am and I was able to get the first trip at around 4:55am. It arrived at Buendia station at around 5:13am since seconds (not even minutes) lang talaga ang stop over nya bawat station. Nakarating ako ng office 5:23am just in time to get my things inside my locker and to set up my tools before logging in at 5:29am.

Sana araw-araw ganito.

For Makati-based call center workers:

*******************************

Goodbye, Anson
COCKTALES
by Victor C. Agustin
March 12, 2007

The landmark Anson Arcade on Pasay Road is destined for the wrecking ball by yearend.

The appliance emporium will be demolished along with the neighboring Park Square car park to give way to the luxury Fairmont and Raffles hotel complex that Ayala Land is building in partnership with the Dubai emirate.

Friday’s announcement took the Anson’s staff, and apparently the management, by surprise, as the two-story arcade had just finished an extensive renovation.

According to the grapevine, Ayala Land is still trying to find where to temporarily relocate the adjoining bus and jeepney terminal, having run out of suitable open space in Makati’s central business district.

Top on the list is the open but much smaller open car park by the Anson Auto Service Center across the street, but there is resistance within the Ayala ranks since the strip row of restaurants across it had just been built.

Besides, building a bus and jeepney terminal right next to an ultra-luxe hotel chain does not make business or aesthetic sense.

Another option: the corner of Ayala Avenue and EDSA, where the transport terminal could connect with the light rail transit station, the crowd-drawing SM Shoemart, and the open carpark in front of the Intercon.

That option would mean that the carpark building and the boxy, 60s-era Hotel Intercontinental that occupy the busy corner would have to be demolished.

To help underwrite such a major re-development, an office tower block could be built on top of the planned terminal, similar to Hong Kong’s Admiralty station.

I'm from Novaliches and I work in Etel Makati.

Uwian ko is 2 pm. It will take 2 hours before I reach Novaliches bcoz traffic sa Quirino Hi-Way. I'll rest my feet for 4-5 then I'll prepare my things, cook my food (kc nagbabaon lang ako para tipid) then take a bath. Sleep from 8-4. Solb ako sa tulog for 8 hours lagi.

similar battle plan, except that there are some CC that doesnt have a sleeping area so i lay a blanket under my station and that's where i sleep. it sucks, but at least you survive w/o necessarily risking your life or your budget.

Just wanted to share based on my experience:
The ff cabs have consistent meters (talagang 150 or less ang metro depending on the traffic situation); the drivers do not ask for a flat rate, you flag em and tell em where you need to go and they nod and that's it; no funky business w/ the radio and other devices that speeds up the meter:

MGE
-chinika ko yung isang driver one time, complaining bakit busy yung hotline nila at 2am in the morning on a saturday night. nagpapasundo kami sana pero di makaconnect. he shared "kasi loko yung babaeng operator namin; natutulog pag ganung oras kaya hinahang nya yung telepono para di maistorbo" LOL. so in case you have a hard time getting through their hotline, lam nyo na!
EMP
N&S or N&E? basta green and yellow

Avis and Basic - they're meters are faster than the 3, umaabot ng 180 pero duh ang linis ng kalsada and patay na oras using the same route as the 3 i mentioned
dollar - this is an old company, dati ang rep nila is mabilis ang metro but i don't know if this holds true now kasi i always avoid this cab
wallis - mas malala sa avis and basic!

F.... Wallis taxi... Bad trip sobra! Bilis ng metro. From my office to my house, the usual fare is P100, max na yun. But with Wallis, it charged me P130. Pinagalitan ko. I paid him just P100. Di na siya nag reklamo cause my husband was like waiting outside dahil I tipped him that taxi meter is running wild.

I even threatened him that I will escort him sa LTO pag di sila nagbago.

I travel from katipunan to ortigas ave (8pm-4am)

Since maraming construction ang ginagawa sa edsa (fastest way ko sana) eh nag white plains ako.

I used to be a regular rider of dollar pero may mga ungas sila na driver na minsan pag galing pa sa sila sa garahe eh naka flag down mode na sila (so dagdag na ako ng mga 30-40pesos nun) pero ngayon they have a fee of 50 for pasundo (same as 24/7 and basic/avis)

MGE/R&E/EMP/Sturdy/Nine Stars - no pasundo fee..

You can also text your friend ng info ng taxi na sasakyan nyo. BE SAFE!

I agree that call center peeps can afford to take a cab but it is not practical at all.

Maybe what we can do is do car pool. I used to take a cab everyday with a friend. So we pay less.*okay*

My training shift starts at 11pm so I leave the house at 930pm via FX going to Cubao. Relax lang. Then I get off at P. Tuazon corner EDSA and take the bus going to Ortigas. Then I get off at Ortigas and take my sweet time walking to work.:D To get home, I simply walk to Megamall, take a bus to Cubao, and then an FX going home.

No need for taxis. 11pm-8am kasi ang pasok ko eh. :D Yung ruta ng FX is just 3 blocks from my house so napakaconvenient talaga.
