I have been in the call center industry for only 2 years but I am having problems with my voice (too much talking). I read that some outsourcing companies offer back office jobs or business services. I really want to try that out because I have administrative/office experience prior to my call center jobs but I don't know where to start.

I remember reading a post about that here in PE but I cannot find it anymore so I decided to start a new one.

Please share any info, it will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Although now, walang opening, kasi, kakastart lang trainess last Monday, at least you will have an idea of the hiring process and the culture in our company. And everytime ramping kami, pinopost naman ng mga PEXers from Paragon sa thread kaya you'll be informed.

I have back office experience doing fraud recovery at JPMorgan Chase and I worked in Etelecare doing customer service inbound calls. I have, overall, accumulated 1.6 years of call center experience pwera pa ang over 1 year back office work experience (doing fraud recovery and legal research support back office work).

Pwede na ba ako sa IBM Business Services? I think the closest thing to my legal training would be HR related BTO work.

The indian bossess there at IBM Daksh do not know how to value their employees (hence the high percent attrition rate) that IBM Daksh eBay Project is experiencing. Sutherland offers at least 4k in allowances however Daksh only offers what....1k-2k in allowances? where is the compensation in that ?

I assure everyone here in PEX that this incident when the HR asked employees to donate one cut-off of their salary to calamity victims is a pure fabrication and shows malicious intent.

I remember applying in Daksh in March last year and getting disappointed at the low basic salary offered me.

IBM-Daksh has three accounts that has an email queue. Base salary and allowances has been adjusted upwards around three times since 2006.

The pay is as competitive as another company in Makati that caters to online gambling.

Synnex is in Libis. It's the company that took over Link2 Support. This gives employees an opportunity to be "in-house" since Sunnes is not really a contact center company. I doubt if they are hiring right now for the batch that will be candidates for US training. I should know better.

IBM-Daksh...walk-in na lang kayo they prefer those with non-voice BPO experience[para akong dumaan sa 'tactical interrogation' dati sa hiring process nila]. Pay premium for experience.

ICT Marikina...walk-in ka na lang sa Marikina site and ask for accounts with email support. may pure dayshift sila and they even have an account that needs 800 reps! Even bragged that they have an account that is dayshift and pays very well!

I was told that it is in Libis; or perhaps they have it on both sites. Anyway, they do have several accounts with email support.

One thing good about this company is that they don't discriminate against overqualified people who has other sources of income bigger than what they offer like what I told them bluntly. I want to work just to leave my home and make a career.

This HR policy is also practiced by Accenture that has a lot of colorful personalities like ex-military, spooks and other personalitites related to law enforcement/military. They prefer applicant with various skills not found in the usual contact centers.

Interviews are quite probing and even asked for my friendster account and how I interact with other nationalities like in my various hobbies. Some questions even related to the contents of my blog. Hiring process for the account that has 2 months training is looonnnnggg. Mamumuti mata niyo kung wala kayong ibang source of income while waiting.

The new account at ICT Marikina that pays well is not a day shift account. Neither is it a non-voice account. It is an outbound account where you offer small and medium businesses an online service similar to Jobstreet for their recruitment needs.

There is an email account, but it's not dayshift and it pays less than 10k a month daw, sabi ng HR.

I don't think Daksh pays 14,500( you could be referring to their base pay + their allowance). New hires I've talked with get paid less than 10k (eBay) for their basic. Premium would be around 12k-12.5- according from the latest wave hired.

Tricky interview questions meant to see any qualities from the applicant that will stand out from ordinary experienced representative. Kung eccentric ka exxentrick baka lumusot ka kaysa sa mga "de-kahon" na applicants.

Pahirapan makapasok due to the long waiting process. There is a possibility of having an separate queue for email and back office.

It seems that the pay is benchmarked to be as competitive as IBM Business Services.

I had the chance to use pre-historic up to one of the most advanced email systems/applications. I think that a 700+ daily productivity requirement is simply not possible to achieve. Even with the use of off the rack templates, reaching or coming close to the given expectation is easier said than done.

I checked the given link and I was surprised to see that what the previous Pexer posted was true. Forgive me please because the first time I read your post I thought that it was just a form of plain exaggeration. They are really demanding for 700+ responses without readily relying on templates. OMG…

Yztian, ano, musta un last day of training nyo? Lahat ba kayo "LIVE" na sa Monday? sa Citibank din ba *** maa-assign? Medyo mahirap un Australian account no? mas madali pa rin un UK compare to AU account, syempre mas lalong madali un US account sa lahat, kc dun tau medyo nasanay na, maliban na lang dun sa sobrang slang un salita at may mga regional accent. The PHP45k/month is not in Access Worldwide. It's with a foreign investment bank with a Philippine office. Job is fun, I used to have the same job years ago servicing the institutional account of Access Worldwide's major shareholders- entering orders electronically/organizing buy-sell transactions in the local stock exchange.

It's understandable that your friend "backed out", possibly due to the one year bond and the sensitive nature of the job. The Series 7 exam. is rather difficult if the company will give the trainee limited time [i.e. 5 weeks] for review or schedule reviews in the graveyard shift.

In the training class that I participated, only 5 out of 27 of us eventually passed. The rest did not make even make it to the exam proper -failed in the qualifying classroom examinations. The concepts have to be drilled into the subconscious to get a good grade, which is quite difficult for those who do not have extensive experience in stock brokerage sales/research/settlements.

On the upside it is not unusual to get a cellphone call from a headhunter offering PHP40-50K a month - the person did not even apply for that job being offered. The overseas pay for customer support for Series 7 stock brokers goes as high as PHP200K/month net of taxes.

A friend of mine was there last week.

According to her, they are still hiring people for batch 1 and 2. But they placed her on batch 3. Two guys signed a contract with them on that day for batch 1.

So that's good new to everyone!

According to her she did not do well in the final interview. Or the TL was not impressed daw. Sabi nya she was assured that they will call her for contract signing soon but no date specified. And no date was specified for batch 3 training but it may be on October.

Take note more that 5 sila sa araw na yun who was placed under batch 3.

She says she doesn't mind waiting pero she is concerned baka nagaantay daw sya sa wala. I mean no contract was signed in the first place. She turned down APAC's invitation for joboffer and EXL's joboffer for Startek because she wanted a non-voice account plus a day job.
