Hi I find it weird that there is now a campaign by coke about eating healthy, physical activity and even sleeping healthy. Something about a balanced life then suddenly I was reading the paper and there was Christine Jacobs Sandejas saying it is okay. Not diet coke but regular coke. As a health buff and mom of kids she tries to instill good eating habits and a lifestyle to isn't this strange? I was always under the impression coca-cola and other regular softdrinks were sugar and calories in a bottle we don't really need. Or am I mistaken?

What is coke thinking?

And does she really stock-up on coke?

Is it really good for kids? Tests have shown that regular consumption promotes obesity in children plus places them at risk for type 2 diabetes.

Is coke being irresponsible with its ads?

i haven't noticed the ads (since i dont watch TV anymore) but i think Coke IS being irresponsible (as well as Christine Jacobs)

regular softdrinks (or kahit nga yung diet soda!)...as well as other energy drinks pack more sugar and calories than a hershey's kiss (read latest Readers Digest)... and has always been found to be the culprit for today's children with diabetes or suffering from obesity...

(para din yang yung Makulay ang Buhay sa Sinabawang Gulay eh... i mean, sure, eating veggies is great... but using msg-filled seasoning just to make your child eat it defeats the purpose diba? parents talaga have to be informed and vigilant about these things...)

Well, binayaran naman sha dun so...

Parang nescafe at syung model nilang si.. Yung dating nasa Okay ka Fairy Ko...

May antioxidants pa silang nalalaman.. :)

Which paper was this in and what day? Coke is unhealthy for kids not only for the empty calories but more so for the caffeine content.

Haven't seen the ad. From what I noticed, coca cola is promoting the consumption of their soda during family gatherings and during special occasions (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Birthdays, etc.).

Soft drinks in general are bad for the teeth. If taken once in a while (once a week if possible, once a month is better), the effect won't be that detrimental.

It's definitely not a good idea to consume soft drinks regularly, several times in a day. Clean water is definitely better.

Kayang kaya kong makaubos ng 1.5 liters ng Coke sa isang araw, which is why I try to avoid soft drinks if I can. Wala pa namang gustong magpagamot sa dentistang bungi :bungi:

Yup... disappointing nga din yung kay Tweetie de Leon and her coffee ads... wehehehe

And true, Coke din ata yung ad involving the Magalona family right? Sabi ko nga sa asawa ko, sasapukin ko mga magiging anak namin if dudulog lang sila sa hapag kainan after hearing the unmistakable hiss of a Coke bottle being opened :D

katawa nga. am not sure if advertisers understand that they can no longer fool people or are they really capable of really fooling people. and what i find even more atrocious is endorsers carelessly using their "fame" to be a party to the crime. well, i guess kahit mayaman na sila money talks.

i think the ad came out in philstar last weekend. it has what appear as water droplets instead of the usual coca-cola red. talks about a well-balanced lifestyle and all. also uses young hip people to endorse the product.

wala bang konsensya ang big companies that they are actually promoting a product that will destroy lives of people? as in type 2 diabetes, dental caries, obesity, etc. all packaged in what appears to be an innocent sweet tasting drink? problem is as parents we can oversee but in the end if the kids are drawn to it who will stop them from grabbing some outside? they may not see the big picture or long term effects.

also is it far fetched to assume that the masses will accept what coke says as truth since it came out on tv?

any cola/ softdrinks, maging diet man or regular, ay masama sa mga bata, especially nakakbulok ng ngipin at grabe sa sugar contents. mabuti na lang ang anak ko na brainwash ko na malalaglag ngipin niya kapag uminom siya soda, kaya nga lahat kami hindi na rin nainon, good example baga.

celebs should look more into what they are endorsing before doing so. malaki nga siguro talaga ang bayad sa kanila kaya nila ine-endorse. pati nga fast foods dapat hindi na rin endorse kasi panay fried at processed foods mga tinda.

OT: Interesting how Aga talks about health condition sa Quaker ads pero during the next station break he takes his kids to ...gasp...Jollibee for chicken joy!

have you guys seen yung video where a guy put mcDo products in glass containers to see what will happen? yung fries nila...at 10 weeks, hindi man lang nagbago itsura... suggesting that it's being very well-preserved by sodium/salt

ok lang ang fast food if once in a while lang.... parang treat instead of automatic fare when you go malling...

According to a study, kids find that food wrapped in Mcdonald's wrappers taste better.
Sadly, people (me, most possibly included) are still fooled by advertising.

i have never been a fan of softdrinks (diet or not) ever since i was a child. my parents always told me it won't do me any good, and i was only allowed to drink it on special occasions such as parties. yun lang. since nasanay akong wala sya sa daily diet ko, i don't find it hard to resist kahit pa sino ang mag-ad na masarap sya. so i think i'll do the same thing to my daughter. junk food and sodas are only allowed on special occasions such as parties. some parents would think i'm being mean pero health is an investment eh. i don't think it should ever be compromised. kaya i don't really pay too much attention on WHO's doing the ad. what i really pay attention to is the product itself and what benefits it can give to me or my daughter. just my two cents.

dont believe everthing thats on the ad they are just using popular celebrities to encourage you to buy thier products, as for the coke of course everybody knows that its not good for your kids any cola will do harm in the long run
