View Full Version : Gentlemen's agreement between BPOs, call centers

Do you know of any HR agreements between BPOs/call centers wherein they would not hire applicants from other BPOs and call centers if they are still employed there. For instance, I'm working for a European Bank BPO and although my credentials are good, I was not hired by this OIL/Petroleum shared service.
That kinda pissed me off and just want to share this so that people be aware.

It looks like there is an existing code of conduct between the big/established shared service companies not to pirate from each other... otherwise, magiging chaotic ang recruitment for everyone in the industry (parang sa call centers).
Analysis ko dyan, pedeng maging price war kung walang agreement... applicants in general will just sign up with the SS with the highest offer. At first, it's great for us employees kasi malaking pera nga... pero we're gonna lose sight of the bigger picture. And we might end up becoming job hoppers kung di magustuhan yung pay, o yung promotion scheme, o yung katrabaho... wag na wag sana :(
It sux nga, but I guess that's the reality if the country wants to keep its BPO industry alive and well.
Why do you want to leave that european bank/KPO? Ask yourself also if there are reasons (apart from the job offer) na would make you join that rival oil/KPO company... is it because of their culture? non-monetary benefits? travel? work/life balance? friends?
Make the difference between short term perks and long term benefits... sana that will help clear your mind of whether to stay with your current or go somewhere else.
Good luck!

well said aoln, but if that was me, since i am in financial trouble (not my fault in case you bash me about my spending spree, which i dont) & i know that i am capable kahit maging manager, of course uunahin ko sahod, then sure premium coverage of HMO for my wife & kids, kung sana walang ng bawas sa sahod kada dependent. if they agree to my price, i will make sure they will be happy with my results since ive been running a good result in my previous industry for the past 4 years. politics lang talaga kaya nahaharang ang opportunities
i mean cmon, we all know we need money & that is the only motivation we will get in this d*mn country. sanay na ang pinoy maghirap at magtiis, so when the money is good, the drive on results are there. of course, pantayan na rin ng company na strict sila sa pagbantay ng trabaho natin, thet is fairly understandable
