I'm planning to have a permanent tattoo, pero worried ako kasi me mga nagsabi na marami raw na jobs na bawal ang me tattoo. Sa medical exam palang, bagsak ka na pag me tattoo ka. Meron ba kayong mga experience na na-turn down kayo sa application nyo because of a tattoo? By the way, I'm presently working, worry ko lang eh kung maisipan kong mag jump ship, tapos ma turn down sa application.
Thanks.

If you have a tattoo, say goodbye to a lot of nice jobs/nice companies.... but then again, assess if "even without the tattoo" is there a real possibility you could get in those nice jobs/nice companies....
Kung may tattoo ka, di mag:
1. rockstar
2. call center agent (i'm not sure if the managerial posts are open to tattooed professionals)
3. news/media
4. artista
5. "artist"
6. advertising

I don't think the tattoo matters that much each day. I have a tattoo but I work in a very nice company and it didn't matter if I'm a "tattooed professional". Your skills will still matter the most.

do you want a "tattoo" to become the clincher of your career? say, you're very skilled. then there's another skilled colleague. you 2 are up for promotion. unfortunately, you have a snake crawling up your arms. guess who's gonna get the promotion?***

other companies kasi ewan ko kung tama yung term...conservative ang pananaw sa ganyang bagay...In other countries people can work even if they have tattooes...I just don't think it's the right thing to do..to reject a capable person just because he's/she's inked. like me! nyahahahaha!!!:rotflmao:

well... just to play it safe- don't have a tattoo on a part of your body that can't be hidden by normal clothes.
most corporate cultures (old school- like bankers, etc) find that tatooed individuals to be rebellious and hard to control

Well, that's true. If ever magpapatattoo na lang kayo, make sure you have the choice to conceal it or show it. My tattoo kc is on my lower back. share ko na rin.

:) I have one tattoo... and I used to wear 4 earrings :naughty: AND I used to sport long hair (way back in my Trend Micro days)... and I was in HR :p
well, some MNCs are more open when it comes to the dress/hair code- yun lang atang mga local firms and consultancies ang medyo maarte sa mga ganyan

I have 3 tattoos and I've worked in one of the most conservative sectors--multilateral agencies.
It's only the local companies in the Philippines that are whiny about even the most discreet of tattoos. I mean you can sue them for discrimination if you're willing to fork over the money and take them to court for not hiring on the basis of a tattoo if you feel it's worth the time and effort...
But of course if your tattoos are covering your entire body and face then you shouldn't wonder why you'll be rejected from the conservative sectors of society...

tatoos may be an issue to certain jobs, while not to others. in the IT industry, in most cases, tatoos are irrelevant. i know someone who has a tattoo on his hand which very visible. he also wears earings. but at the same time, this guy is very technically skilled. he earns P160K/month, more than what most yuppie-type professionals do. he also comes to work, most of the time, wearing shirt, shorts and sandals. pag may meeting naman, he wears jeans (pants) and shirt.
go figure.
