Good day guys. I just received my first paycheck and was quite disappointed. haha! May tanong lang nga ako.
See, I started Dec. 10-15. So that's basically the second half of the payroll period of Dec 1-15. I mean, there are only 20 working days in a month so 10 lang for every payroll period.
Nagwork ako 10-15 which was a monday to friday sakto. However, ang deductions ko due to absences is more than 65% of my gross pay. So hindi pa kasali dyan yung tax and everything else.
So parang ang sinasabi niyan, even dec 1-2 and 8-9 counted sa bayad? Bec according to the HR i was "absent" daw dec 1-9. Not including weekends? Kasi kung ang susundan ko is yung 10 working days e kalahati lang ng payroll period ko ako absent so dapat around 50% lang ang deductions ko due to absences.
Thanks for the help! Sana naintindihan niyo.

Are you sure you're not supposed to work on weekends? Anyway rough check is Basic Pay divided by days work x days actually worked...

^yup we're NOT required to work during weekends. Actual workdays are only mondays to fridays.
Or is it normal na kasama ang weekends sa bilangan? So ang salary ko is kunyari 10k, so ibig sabihin that's the sum of 30 days in a month inclusive of weekends na wala namang work?

Sa dati kong company, they peg the # of hours (not days) in a payroll period at 82 (can't remember the exact hours), then they deduct the actual number of hours being absent.
This evens out the variation in the number of working days in a given period.
But the best thing for you to do is to ask your payroll/finance people and let them explain to you how they arrived at the figure you got for your 1st paycheck.

Facts:
You started work on Dec 10
Your salary is 10,000 per month.
The semi-monthly pay is 5,000.
You are required to work only 5 days a week.
The December 1-15 payroll cycle has 10 working days.
Ergo:
Your daily rate is 458.02 (Compute: 10,000 x 12 / 262)
Assuming no tardiness and other government deductions, I would compute based on the following schedule:
Basic 5,000
Less: 2,290.10 (5 x 458.02)
Bal 2,709.90 (This is taxable income)
Assuming Tax exemption = Single
Tax Due = 562.19
Net take home = 2147.71

^Thanks guys. Council, as per your computation, I may have a point in questioning the way they computed my 5 day salary.
