My first job was a memorable one -- I was a Secretary. Many wondered why my boss hired a male secretary. Is this an "unnatural" practice?

I've worked with TWO male secretaries in my previous jobs. They were both excellent. Not wishing to sound chauvinistic, but some advantages:

1) When working late into the night, we did not need to worry about how the secretaries would get home. We could even buy them beers and it wouldn't look too, shall we say, inappropriate.

2) Some female secretaries could be sweet-talked by third parties into divulging information, or doing things against your wishes, such as scheduling appointments with people I didn't want to see, etc. Male secretaries (at least the ones we had) were more "salbahe" and "matigas ang ulo" and were ready to do the dirty work for us.

3) The male secretaries had more muscle power. We asked them sometimes to lift heavy objects (such as boxes full pf paper), and they would gladly oblige.

4) Most secretaries in Manila are female. A male secretary, with a glib tongue, can make a lot of friends in the community of secretaries, and can facilitate a lot of things.
