Hi guys!
Id like to share a friends dilemma.
My friend who has no call center experience has passed all the test that was given her.
-Language test
-Speed typing test
-Simulation
-Interviewed by the HR
-Pro Speak
Then she was told by the HR that she has passed all the exams/test. And then told her that before she could be given the final interview eh dapat MAGRESIGN muna sa current job cos its their COMPANY POLICY.
What do you guys think?
I think its not fair for the applicant and that its total B.S.

Is she currently employed? Because if she is (even if it's not a call center company), some call centers really have that kind of policy.

She is currently employed but not as a call center agent or in a call center company.

What your friend can do is resign with 30 days notice (which is I believe the standard for many companies) or whatever is the requirement.
Inform the new company that she has resigned effective so and so, then do the final interview.
The old employer would appreciate the notice. The new employer would appreciate how proper the applicant is.
If she fails the final interview, she would have a chance to go back the old company and retract the resignation.

Go back to the company where she has just sent her resignation letter? Are you serious?!?!?!?! Il put that in my list of things to do to humiliate myself and loose my pride. hehehehe.. JK :)
There are companies wherein when you submit a resignation letter they would opt to release you a day after. :) Mine is like that.
Ah... may mga ganun pala na companies talaga. And prerogative nila. Kawawa naman mga applicants dun that are still employed in another company.

My two cents:
This is the first that I have heard of such a thing. That is really unethical and purely unprofessional. Imagine before you could go to a final interview you need to resign first ?!?
What the F?
Three reasons:
1. The interviewer might be misled or might not know his company policy?!? Duh!
2. The interviewer or HR person has some personal agenda against your friend.
3. Whoever made that company policy should study HR ethics, they don't know what they are doing.
I would not go for that company if I was your friend. I will surely be doubtful. Very much a waste of time.

^ I agree... That's totally B.S. Kasi Wala pang J.O. sa knya... Wala pa rin syang pinipirmahan... Pero bka naman Final Interview is just a formality and the company really likes your friend and strategy na nila na pag resign na sya para kung ayaw niya *** offer nila eh wala na syang choice coz' she's already jobless... :naughty:

^ usually companies are telling the applicants not to resign coz there are no assurances that he will be hired...
di nga maganda mag aaply na resigned na kasi lumiliit ang value mo... di ka maka tanggi sa offer nila...

Yes, I'm serious. I know at least 15 people who have resigned and came back because they say that their decision was a 'mistake' or they were better off prior to resigning.
Those people did not feel humiliated but felt good going back to their old friends and co-workers. Sorry to hear if you are to be humiliated by the act and lose pride - guess it's a case of "different stroke for different folks".
I once had to 'release' / immediately terminate a subordinate because he was already working for a competing company. Both of our companies value confidentiality. Too bad. :(

kung ako di ko na lang sasabihin na im currently employed in another company and take my chances first with the final interview then if i pass then i make a decision should i stay with my current employer or should i work in a call center and resigned from my previous job iba pa rin yung maayos mag paalam. kaya nga sila nagpapainterview kasi kailangan na nila ng tao meron na sila nakahanda na schedule for training e kung sasabihin mo you are still currently employed with another company madedelay sila di ka nila aantayin a lot of applicants are also waiting to get the opportunity to work. dapat sana sa final interview mo na lang sinabi na you are currently employed malay mo kung pumasa ka sa susunod na wave ka ischedule for training it will even give you time to file for a resignation pwede mo pa pakiusapan.

I guess this only works if you really really hate your current work and that you are dying to leave it. hehehehehe... :)
AWOL.... :)
