I'm not sure if this is prevalent among ALL companies there in the Philippines, but most of the peeps I know that live and work there all work 6 days a week??? Are you guys okay with this???
Personally, I'm not... I dunno, maybe because I grew up and got used to a 5-day work week. I just can't imagine myself with just a 1 rest/gimmik day....

Nope, it's very tiring. I used to work for a company that had a 5 1/2 day workweek (half day during saturdays). It was tiring, and you feel that you don't have time for yourself anymore.

Six-day work weeks are the norm only in factories and in retail. Offices usually stick to a five day week or, in cases such as CaRaMBa's, five and a half.
I'm a great believer in flexitime and unspecified working hours. I figure that people have different "productivity rates" anyway.
One advantage to coming to work on Saturday morning (when most of the working Manila population is at home) is that you can have four hours of uninterrupted time - few phone calls, meetings, etc.

Definitely yes! 6-day, 8 hour workdays are much better than our usual 7 day, 36 hours-every-other-day workdays.

my first job had a 5 1/2 day workload and it sucked because you might as well count the 1/2 as 1 day! i had to wake up early and we usually extended on saturdays til 4 or 5. i actually didn't realize what i was missing until i resigned and had another job that did not require working on weekends. now i have two whole days to myself and i can wake up as late as i want! :D

A vehement NO!!! As it is my, 2-day weekend feels "bitin". Firstly, we normally start our Saturdays/Sundays kinda late in the morning, like about 9:30 am. For me, it is the only time that I enjoy the luxury of sleeping later into the morning and being able to read the dailies without rushing. And it is also during the weekends that I do personal/family errands/chores being a working mom at that.
In any case, my 5-day workhours are more than enough -I average about 45-50 hours per week (sometimes more if we are working on a deal).
