I agree its really hard at first. but as what they say, there's always a first time!naks, paki.konek ng statement ko, hehe
seriously, i suggest just try to be brief yet concise. if they ask u to tell something about urself. go straight to the point, say you love to watch movies, you play polo and u love to read etc, example ***..den when u speak, try to look at the interviewer and avoid fillers or even stutter. in my case, i just take a deep breathe or practice prior the application. and if there questions like "do u have plans to go abroad or pursue further studies" always say NO.that ur priority right now is to have a stable job.
hope this one helps, im not the ryt person to give advices hir. just my two cents anyway!

Best way for you to really get in the CC industry is to practice your oral communication. I'm no expert, but being in the CC industry for some time now, i'd suggest simple english exercises.
BTW, Accent will naturally follow when you're exposed to calls, and most call centers, just listen to your grammar, and not your accent...so you should focus more on being comfortable with the language.
...here are a few things that worked for me...
---Remember that English is "caught" and not really "taught". Try buying DVD's of your favorite English series, or whatever english show you want. Then try to listen to the conversations that take place within the show and try to repeat these words orally. By immersing yourself everyday to english dialogues, your ear begins to get trained with proper sentence construction.
Find a book, and just read the words aloud so you would hear it. Same principle above, your ear gets trained.
Practice, practice and practice conversing in english. At home, under your family's understanding, you could speak all the english you want till your household gets nosebleeds. Practice really makes perfect. But just don't go overboard...like speaking in english at the marketplace, or when you're buying balot, or taho...dont even try to translate "Boy Bawang" in English...otherwise, "mabubugbog ka dahil ang OA mo...ilugar mo naman." :)
Also, practice the whole interview process with a friend or a family member. Since you've already been turned down, you should be quite familiar with the interview questions and how the process goes. Try to simulate the whole conversation all over again. If you get to prepare before any big interview, i believe that you'll be more confident in the actual thing. You will learn to practice the flow of your thoughts, and you'll eliminate dead air and nervousness.
My last piece of advice...you pray about it. If a job is really meant for you, then you'll get it. And there are lots of call centers out there, so you have the option of which suits you best... treat every rejection as a learning experience and never ever give up...i've had my share of rejections...so we're in the same boat. Heck, everyone used to laugh at my grammar...but with hard work comes a profit...cheers...and goodluck in your future interviews!!!
BTW : I was a fresh grad when i also applied...arts major. La lang. :D

omikun>>>there's really nothing that we can do about your filipino english accent you have to work it out for yourself. or kung gusto mo pasok ka teledevelopment hahasain ka talaga dun me bayad pa actually agency sila me connections sila sa mga callcenter. because in the long run if ever you do land a job in the call center your performance will be based on how you handle the call that includes communications.

I suggest that you prepare a script to describe yourself from start to finish. You can start with family background all the way college and the reason why you are applying. Practicing your script will help you prevent stuttering and help you control you pronounciation

i agree with beefpares. also try to enhance your listening skills and comprehension skills. try to work on sentence construction and grammar. if asked why would you want to be a call center agent, dont just answer its because you want the experience, at least try to think of something that will make a good impression, instead of making your employer think you are just using the job as a stepping stone, though half of that may be true, still its not a good answer, honesty is okay, but during the interview, you need to choose what you have to say. lots of call centers are not giving high emphasis on accent, so long as yours is neutral and your pronunciation and enunciation is clear, and your voice, well modulated. also, before you join the band wagon, ask yourself first, is this really the job you want?, because money may not be enough for a motivation, i believe a lot of call center agents may agree to that. don't go for a job because you think that is the only available job for you.in truth, there are lots. you just need to work on your patience. things to consider would be self-fufillment and achievement, and your career path. get a job that you will be passionate about, because if in that job is where your heart falls, then success is sure to follow.

yonka! well thanks po angel. pero sa palagay ko kc, just what i told my older sister, it'll only be my stepping stone po just to earn bucks in the callcenter industry. pag mka ipon na, baka mag venture ako sa business. im thinking of maybe a computer shop pero not just an ordinary computer shop converted to a cafe, *** parang me twist ndi lang *** ordinary shops and cafe's that we see here! like the ice cream parlor na na feature sa tv diz past 2007. im a BS comsci grad pero ang kulit noh? gs2 ko pumasok into business din! well anyway, this is for all of you guyz and gals, thank you very much po in assisting me through out this whole process! bukas, mag aapply ako ulit sa transcom eh! mejo nag rereview ako ng mga sasabihin ko just as kuya beefpares told me :bashful:

Good Luck..and Godbless!!! Welcome to the CC industry.
I also agree with OneAngel...done give the impression na hindi ka magtatagal...keep it to yourself. Most cc's these days have this big problem of agents resigning after months...kaya give them an impression na 10 years mo balak magstay...cheers! balitaan mo kami!*okay*

hi just a few tips coming from me ( feeling hehehehe.. ):
1. Remember that there is a thin line that seperates confidence from arrogance just make sure that you are still within the boundaries. Don't be OVERCONFIDENT.
2. Be careful with your accent ( this is a major disaster for first time CC applicants ) sometimes an exaggerated accent is annoying for an interviewer.
3. Stop lingering around the bush and always answer staright to the point but avoid giving phrases or clauses always try to answer in a complete sentence.
4. Make sure that you are dress properly, though the CC industry is not that particular when it comes to dress codes make sure that you still look presentable and hindi yung mukha lang pinabili ng suka. Also be sure to be on time for your interview of course.
5. Don't memorize scripts, because it is another cause of major disaster. People have a tendency to panic when they forgot a word or a phrase which they have memorized.
GOODLUCK!!!!!

the more you think, the more you want to talk to let it out.

Why not try applying first for jobs that doesn't necessarily require speaking in english(w/accent) or prefers english and filipino, your still a fresh grad so try to gain confidence and experience first in dealing with interviews. Once you get the hang of it then proceed with applying in a callcenter.

sori ntagalan ng reply *** kuya swat..ip relay as ive known through out these years, parang ikaw *** magiging voice of the mute and ears of the deaf so technically speaking, you really have to be very good in terms of speaking yata and also you are really required to have an average typing speed of minimum 45words. also it is an advantage kapag marunong ka in terms of internet and computer savvy ka. i dont know nga lang kung nagbibigay *** ibang companies ng mga trainings in terms ng technicality ng work na un. hope makatulong *** pagsagot ko kahit konti :bashful:
