Yes miles, how come Rizal pa rin ang Cainta yet Antipolo and Pasig are already Cities? Sobra bang corruption sa atin at mababa ang revenues natin to become a City?
Jei
Feb 17, 2001, 06:14 AM
good point there .. pero sa dinami-dami ng Pexers .. what's the probability na meron let's say at least 30 people who are from Cainta?.. siguro naman kahit paano mataas-taas diba?... and yet there's just eight of us here in this thread... malamang sa hinde.. they just don't want to post here or.. probably they haven't seen the thread yet...
Tzendor question! pardon for my ignorance pero.. sino bang naga-accredit for a place to become a city?.. does the local gov't apply for it? or does the place automatically gets qualified to become one once it has generated a certain amount as revenues? (ang gulo ko yata! )
yaiks ang haba nito! bye peepz!

hmmm...well, i don't know why pero feeling ko it would take time pa before makilala ang cainta. kainis nga eh coz pag may nagtanong kung taga-saan ka, parang napapanganga sila when you say you are from cainta. Is it like Laguna? or Tagaytay na sobrang layo? i don't think so...
well... if you guys want e.b. tayo one of these days...para naman may idea tayo kung sino-sinu tayo dito. :) that is, if you guys want?
btw, how many girls and guys ba ang nasa thread na ito? If we reach a certain number, lets say around 12, do you think that is enough to make us enjoy our e.b.? or dapat around 20-25? who wants to organize?
hope to meet you people soon... ;)

Hi guys! Finally I made it back, I've been quite busy at work lately. So kamusta na kayong lahat?
Regarding the nitty-gritties of turning a place into a City; sorry Jei, obviously I don't have the answer that's why I posted the question "How come Cainta is not yet a City?" I was just taking chances of getting some substantial answers from our Thread; but, one thing for sure, revenues generated by a locality is a requirement. I'll keep you posted on it if ever I get any answer and likewise do so as well, okay - thanks!

AKO RIN!!! CAINTA IS STILL MY HOME!!!!! REPRESENTING VALLEY VIEW BABY!!!!!
Ako rin sa Cainta! Isla Verde...este Vista Verde pala. Dami *** nating taga Caintacky! Kainis nga no pag sinabi mong Cainta parang taga ibang planeta ka. Considering 18K lang ako sa Makati office namin. Mas malayo pa nga yung SM North EDSA.
Probably it's because it still looks provincial to them since it doesn't have that busy atmosphere that we tend to expect from a metropolis. And syemps kung province yan people would likely think that it's far.
ey peepz! There's gonna be a new Robinson's mall pala right beside Sta. Lucia East. Buti naman. The old place (the one at the back of the tropical hut center) is so gloomy you don't feel like shopping at all.

Hello people..can I make a comment about the typical(unfair) stereotype of Cainta(nians). And it really bothers me because it's really a bunch of bull sh*t...
....Ok, typical stereotype about us is: Our skin is darker. Which you know , gosh, brown is beautiful! Hirap sa atin, some of us are still clinging on to that antiquated colonial mentality that distinguishes the elite, lighter-skinned mestizos and the sunburned farm workers. So most of the time, sadly, we are taught to believe that the more "anglo-looking" (meaning light skinned, matangos ang ilong what not) you are, the more beautiful you are. Gosh!!! And products like..gosh what was that called...Block and white and CY Gabriel takes advantage of this ingnorance!!! It's about time we show off our brown pride don't you think?
There's this Fil-Am film out in the U.S now, called " The debut"...I believe all of the cast are beautiful and not because they are light-skinned (unlike MOST of the celebrities sa atin), but because they carry their brown glory with pride!!
...check out the website debutfilm.com
Ok thank you for listening, I just have to let it out:D

We're from Mandaluyong before we transferred to Cainta 6 years ago. Sa totoo lang my wife and kids are fair skinned before our transfer pero ngayon medyo umitim sila. Maybe because we're using deep well water. Hindi pa nawasa ang village namin.

Hey you guys, how've you been doin'? Do you have any urban legends to share about our beloved town? Ok lang ba Poponnggo? I have a couple I'd like to share with you guy:D, I'm from Valley View as you all may know and its right along Valley Golf. Well, you know that road that runs along Valley Golf? The one that starts at Ortigas and ends at Sumulong (up towards Antipolo). Well, for the longest time, I have heard stories about a white lady or an old lady on a certain part of this long stretch of road, but I have never known anyone with a first hand experience, until the day my brother told me about what happened to him and his barkadas.
Summer of last year, him and his friends decided to go on a joy ride right along Valley Golf and wanted to do a bit of ghost hunting as well. So ang mga duwag, on their way there, they had the car radio turned up and were just making a lot of noise (pampa alis takot obviously). Well, remember that 'hot spot' I mentioned? The part where they usually see the white lady? Well, it's this fork in the road. So when my friends and brothers reached the place, here's what happened, as they were about to make a turn at the fork, the CAR DIED. Well ok maybe its a mechanical glitch, but the car was fairly new and properly maintained and its an automatic, I mean, automatics don't just die like that right? Well needless to say my brother and my friends were freaked out!! Turuan sila kung sina yung "Magtutulak" eh ayaw lahat heheheehe takot eh. This went on for about 5 minutes, but for those guys, it went on forever. Then the car spurted back to life again as well as the radio. Well that did it, his friend did a frantic 360 and took off as fast a they could.
Well ok, maybe it was a mechanical glitch, but how come when my friend drove there, she told me that the light indicator (the one that tells you if any of your doors are open) came on while she was drivin in the same spot? She thought one of the doors were open. When she pulled over and checked (she was with her Ate, so no,she can't do that by herself, she's just as chicken as I am), the doors were all properly closed.
They say electrical or mechanical failure is a sign of supernatural activity....well..maybe..:D
Ok ok, just wanna share that with you guys, kayo naman. I'm sure meron yan sa mga subdivisions niyo or schools ninyo. Ok Poponggo, am I stealing the show? Sorry man. It's still about Cainta:D.

Ang daya ako lang ang madaldal:D. How is everyone? So you guys haven't come up with a ghost story about your subdivisions yet? Or maybe you all live busy lives. Well, it's almost the weekend, all of my exams are done and over with and I'm off work today hehehehehe so, I happen to swing by to see how you guys are doin'.
I'm in a 'ghost-story' telling mood, so please bear with me. Here's another tale about what happened in Valley View.
Ok, Brookesiders, you all know Area 13 right? Or was that 14? Anyway, it's where the Brookside/Valley Border is. I don't know what you guys call this "hill" but Valley Viewers call it "Bulok na Tanke" hahahahahahaha!!! Kasi diba, on top of this hill is this old, rusty, tore up water tank with a lot of pornografitti on it hehehehehe. On that hill is also a Mango grove. They already built a concrete wall between Valley View and Brookside (it sucks, I remember how my friends and I just come and go as we please back in the good old days). But anyway, here's what happened. When we were younger, we used to play with this boy who is a non-homeowner(squatters). But as we grew older, we drifted apart and he went on to hang out with his junkie friends. Well, about 5 years ago, tragedy struck. We found out that this boy's body was found in "Bulok na Tanke" and from what I heard this boy suffered a great deal before he died :(. This boy was tortured to death. His ears and toungue were cut off:(, one of his eyes were hangin' off the sockets:(..his murderers drilled holes on his inner thighs. Rumor has it that a fellow Valley Viewer did this:( ALL BECAUSE HE SUSUPECTED HIM OF STEALING ONE OF HIS GOATS!!! Ghetto!!! But it was so tragic. I felt so bad for his family. My brother said even before he heard about E's body being found, his friends saw the blood stained ground.
Well fast forward to 2000. That place was walled up and is called O.L (over looking). It has a pretty nice view actually. You have Antipolo hills to the east and the smog ridden glittering lights of Manila in the west.I'm feeling homesick:(
Well anyway, last year. My sister and her friends were
hangin' out at O.L. All of them are from Valley View except her friend Ral. He's from Masinag. Well, according to my sister, Ral was so quiet most of the time they were up there. When they left, she asked him what's up. Ral said that he was a bit of a 'psychic' and he said that while they were at O.L he kept seeing a guy in his teens staring at them. He knows that this guy is not with the living anymore. As my sister was telling me this, I said to her " That's where they dumped E's body years ago remember?"..this totally slipped my sisters mind but dang, she freaked out when I reminded her about it. Ral never knew E. No one ever told Ral about him being murdered his body being dumped over there......creepy huh?
Sumalangit nawa ang iyong kaluluwa E.

Hi guys,
Lakas ba tubig doon? binabaha ba?
Any comments please.
Thanks
aajao
Sep 22, 2003, 01:09 PM
Most subdivisions po sa Cainta binabaha. Pero Village East is one subdivision which has good set of homeowner's association officers. They get things done for their village. I know because i used to go there almost everyday (dun kase located yung church namin) but i live next to it, sa Country Homes. :)
And don't be afraid of the flood. It just passes by in a matter of hours. ;)

aajao,
what about going to work? Makati or ortigas? lapit lang ba? how many hours and km ang biyahe?
thanks
aajao
Sep 22, 2003, 11:21 PM
Don't worry about the flood. Tubig lang yan. *okay*

k lang. no problem, nung August lang naman ako umalis eh and ilang taon ko na ring binuno yang baha sa Cainta.
oh well, pag umuulan ng tuloy-tuloy, yung mga light vehicles usually pinaparada na sa matataas na daan within the vicinity rin naman ng subdivision. pag bumaha sa Imelda Avenue, ibig sabihin mas mataas ang baha sa mga subdivisions. Not passable sa light vehicles yun pag ganun.

gen_mheloy.. depende sa time un eh, pag early morning as in super early like 5am or 6am siguro going to makati, or ortigas
if magagaling kang junction, less than an hour makakarating ka na dun sa workingplace mo. pro pag 7am onwards na and dadaan ka pang junction-ever, siguro going to makati almost two hours kse traffic na nun sa ever gotesco area eh..if ortias naman one hour and thirty minutes..

hi gen_mheloy I got your pm... you couldn't be any closer to the truth with what you said about *migrating*..... I still consider Cainta my home (my Mom and my sister still lives there) , I haven't lived there in years....but I'll try to answer you questions anyway.
I think your trip will best be measured by how LONG will it take for you to get to Ortigas or Makati..
but honestly, I can't help you with that sorry....I don't remember. But good luck anyway :)

gen_mheloy tama sabi ni miumiu, pag 6AM (or earlier) ka umalis from Junction-Ortigas, you'll be in Makati in a flash. pag inabot ka ng 7AM, you'll be late if you have to be in Makati by 8am. But there's an alternative road from Imelda Avenue going to Ortigas... dadaan ka sa Gate 5 ng Karangalan Village (opposite Vista Verde) and ang labas mo, Rosario na. Or you can go straight Libis at lumabas ka sa White Plains. Daming alternate routes. You could be near the metropolis (Ortigas, Makati, Quezon City, Greenhills), and you can be near the province (Tanay, Laguna, Tagaytay, Cavite).
oh well... i hope this helped. :)

I used to live in Cainta but I have now transferred to Makati.
Anyway, my only complaint about Cainta is that ma-traffic talaga sya. The traffic situation along Ortigas Avenue during rush hours is horrible.

gen_mheloy, sorry i just read your pm today. anyway, taga-village east ako, yung baha ok lang hindi maduming klase ng baha kasi brown heheeh galing bundok. but i think the officers have a flood-control project, and it quite helped, kasi last time medyo nagbaha. siguro kung asa house ka lang, tapos 6-foot-elevation from the ground yung main door ng bahay e ok lang. kami kasi na-renovate ang bahay thrice na, pero inabot pa rin. 3 years ago ata, sobrang mataas yung baha, imagine a delivery truck na l300, inabot ang windpow nun at meron pa nakakapag-jetski dito. and if you're out or want to go out, and you need to pass by the chapel, it's not a good idea to bring your car there, unless you want to get a complete underwash (but your mats will be soaked) hehheheh. sobrang malalim dun sa part na yun. pag tapos na ang ulan at pababa na, sa gate lahat halos napupunta. the best spot to buy a lot is along the main road, phase one. near the iglesia ni cristo chapel (that's different from the chapel i mentioned above) because it's near the bridge and the gate too. basta wag lang lagpas ng chapel kasi mamomoroblema ka sa taas ng baha dun.
good luck!

You could be near the metropolis (Ortigas, Makati, Quezon City, Greenhills), and you can be near the province (Tanay, Laguna, Tagaytay, Cavite).

-bumabaha ba doon?
-malapit sa grocery/mall?
-safe ba?
-malapit ba sa jeep, bus, MRT?
-ano lakaran ng lots doon? per sq. meter?
they are offering the lot for P6000 per square meter for a 268 sq. meter lot? expensive ba?

Thanks for the info.
So you're saying doon sa may malapit sa Sta. Lucia (Imelda Ave or Felix ba yun) corner of Marcos Highway, yung intersection nayon, heading straight along Marcos highway all the way to Masinag, lumu-lubog sa baha during rainy season?
Also I thought they are building an MRT on Marcos Highway beside the Markina River ending just before Sta. Lucia Mall? Diba mag appreciate ang prices nag lots jan?

Medyo lumulubog siya pag sobrang lakas talaga ng ulan, but yung Imelda Avenue from Vista Verde all the way to its next town Taytay bayan ay ang napakadaling lumubog sa baha.
Sa me Town and Country and Kingsville binabaha, but bihira lang yung impassable, pero sa Imelda Avenue ang talagang grabe.
No, the MRT is up Santolan only, but they are planning an extension up to Cogeo.
P 5000 pala, not 500.

A rough guide to help clarify some stuff regarding the Imelda Avenue/Marcos Highway area:
Floods:
Villages in line with Tropical Hut usually bahain, may creeks kasi sa side na yun, kaya from the area of Kingsville down to Brookside and Youngstown, yep, regretfully madaling bumaha.
Yung villages in line with Sta. Lucia East most likely hindi bahain. Kung meron man, it will take at least a couple of days' heavy downpour bago bumaha. By that time much of Metro Manila has already gone underwater na rin. :D
If you're scouting for property, at least ask kung may creek nearby. Or see if the neigboring houses have mucho elevated driveways or doorways. ;)
Pasig, Cainta, Marikina or Antipolo?
Villages along Imelda Avenue in line with Tropical Hut are considered Cainta. For the villages in line with Sta.Lucia East, that's considered Pasig until the area of CVS and Metroville Subdivisions. As for Karangalan Village: it covers a huge area. But basically same din, those on the side of Tropical Hut is Cainta, and those with Sta.Lucia is Pasig.
In essence, you can step into another town just by crossing the street. A short way from Sta.Lucia towards McDo Marcos Highway eh Marikina naman. :D
:bop:
Water
The villages in the area usually have NAWASA lines.
Transportation and traffic
The major bottlenecks are the roads approaching Sta.Lucia mall and Cainta Junction. During rush hour, heavy din sa Gate 5 Karangalan main road coz a lot of workers bound for Ortigas and Makati use this route.
The nearest LRT station is in Santolan. There are lots of FX cabs around Cainta bound for Ortigas/Megamall/Ayala/Cubao depende sa area. Quiapo-bound G-Liner and RRCG buses come from Cainta proper and from Ortigas Extension.
Hindi kasama ang Imelda Avenue sa coding. :D
Hope this helps. Pa-input na lang po kung may corrections.

Salamat. :)

up ko *** yung thread. ask ko lang po...flood free ba ang metroville sa tuwing malakas ang ulan (ulan na di tulad ng undoy)? me mga nagsabi sa akin na di bahain *** lugar na un. i went there and ask the pedicab driver and one of the resident sabi di bahain. sabi naman ng former residents bahain dun. ano ba talaga kuya?! :D nalilito ako. meron kasi lot for sale na offer sa akin dun. not sure yet if the lot is a good deal! la din nawasa dun, di ba? thanks in advance!!!
