What jobs can you offer for an international studies graduate?

For one, you have to be fluent in another language, unless you’re well-connected. Then take the FSO exams.

Assuming you pass and are extended a job offer from the DFA, you will most likely be posted in an embassy or consulate overseas. I don't know the timing though.

It's a competitive test. And aside from scoring well in the exams, other skills like being fluent in another language will also come to play in the application process.

That's the only blog I've come across that goes into detail about the FSO exams and life as a foreign service officer. Her posts and the comments section of each post is pretty useful, if you want to know more about the test and the whole experience. :)
