i've seen a lot of online job hunt articles that say that you shouldn't reveal your current salary and expected salary during the interview, not until the job offer.... but does it really happen here in the philippines?
sa experience ko so far parang ndi nila nirerespect yung my wanting to delay revealing that info till the job offer.. sasabihin nila na kailangan nila yung info para iprepare *** salary package, yadayada.. tatanungin talaga nila hangang sabihin mo...
how do you go around that?

Sa mga application form naka state doon na fill-out mo ang current at expected salary. DAPAT sabihin mo at wala namang masama kung 2x or 3x mo ang expected as long as you are capable to deliver and fit sa required manpower budget nila. That's part of selection fit sa skills level at fit sa budget.

Let's say you were making P30,000 and wanted to improve it, and the company were prepared to pay P25,000 max to their preferred candidate. No deal, right?
What good would withholding the salary figure do, for both sides? Magsasayang lang kayo ng oras.
Those job hunt articles all mean well, but they'll never guarantee you a job, and won't compensate you for wasted time. You have to do what will work for you.

personally ha sa matter ng salary dapat lam mo na ang asking price mo before ka mag interview pa lang kasi sa first part ng exams may slot na dun for asking salary and pag checked yun ng HR yun ok na yun hehehe

You should discuss the expected range as soon as possible so that you don't waste time applying (taking exams and interviews, travelling etc), if they can't afford it move on.

Technically in negotiations price is the last thing to be discussed? Why? Because value has to be established first. Giving a price at an early stage might subjectively bias one or both parties at the onset and would fail on the value proposition process.
Of course when applying the best thing to do is research. You should have a fair knowledge of the ability of the company to give out packages, the going rate of the function and the title and a knowledge of your own value.
