Voice Writer/Editor

Responsibilities:

- Create publication-quality transcriptions of operating results conference calls in collaboration with an Editor using the Voice Writing method.

- Collaborate with peers and the Team Leader on continuously improving the transcription workflow process.

- Collect other Business Information, such as private company profiles, as required by Capital IQ.

Requirements:

- Flawless written and oral communication skills in English.

- Flawless listening skills.

- Excellent eye, hand, and auditory coordination.

- Excellent editing and proofreading skills.

- Ability to concentrate, focus and deliver consistently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

- Must be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks.

- Exceptional attention to detail.

- Excellent typing skills.

- Strong ability to learn and apply new/emerging technologies.

- Bachelor’s degree.

- Previous experience with speech recognition software, such as IBM ViaVoice or Dragon NaturallySpeaking is a plus.

- Familiarity with financial markets and business organizational vocabulary is a huge plus.

Trainer/Quality Auditor (QA)

Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute a training program for Voice Writers and Editors.

- Collaborate with the Operations Manager in the design, development, testing and implementation of real-time transcription workflow.

- Assist the Operations Manager in establishing guidelines for identifying qualified applicants for transcription and editing positions.

- Assist the Operations Manager in establishing policies and procedures that contribute to the efficiency of the transcription department.

- Through a random selection process, review transcribed and edited reports.

- Calculate and score reports consistently and fairly, weighing the varying degrees of errors against the size of the documents.

- Provide timely and consistent feedback to the voice writers and editors in order to eliminate repetition of errors, build skills and mentor the voice writer/editor.

- Responsible for monitoring, measuring and reporting transcribed documents by Voice Writers and documents reviewed by the Editors.

- Recognize, interpret, and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in the dictation, and appropriately clarify and/or report them as required.

Requirements:

- 2-5 years experience delivering training and developing training materials.

- 1-3 years experience in quality systems development and auditing.

- Experience with voice recognition software (ViaVoice and Dragon NaturallySpeaking) a huge plus.

- Must have demonstrated fair and unbiased judgment with the ability to review and coordinate a random review process of documents.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills in order to provide consistent quality feedback to the voice writers, editors and supervisors.

- Proficient in researching, reporting, tracking and monitoring.

- Ability to multi-task with multiple priorities and timeframes.

- Excellent coaching/training/mentoring skills.

- Willing to undergo process training.

- Familiarity with financial markets and business organizational vocabulary.

- Willingness to travel (5-20%).

Hi there! I would just like to ask some questions. I applied for a Financial Language Editor post for French few months back. I was able to pass the assessment test and was interviewed. But yet to know when the results will come out. How long is the "waiting" period before job offer, anyway? Thanks!
