Hi there! I am currently working as a French-speaking Customer Service representative in a call center based in Makati. My gross income is about Php33,000 a month. But some of my friends were able to land jobs in other call centers with a starting salary of Php40,000. Anyone got ideas? Which call centers are currently looking for French-speaking CSRs? Thanks!

hey Cassanova88, do you have any idea how much is the starting salary for spanish speaking agents? And by the way, do companies give language training? I mean, if a prospective employee has basic knowledge of a foreign language like spanish or french, do they offer additional trainings to enhance their communication skills? :) I took spanish sa IC but up to level 9 only... I wonder if it's enough to merit consideration from employers...

Well for established call centers like Sykes, peopleSupport and IBM, starting salary is between 25,000-30,000. But there are companies who can give you an offer as high as 45,000. Thing is, mahirap adjustment pag una because you're getting used to the accent. Unfortunately, they dont give you additional training. But with your Level 9 Spanish it should be good. But you can assess yourself still by listening to Spanish phone conversations siguro. In time, when you get to receive lots of calls naman, you get used to the concern at alam mo na kaagad ang spiels mo. Masarap ang buhay pag bilingual. I get a maximum of 5 calls per day lang siguro and pwede kang makipaghaggle sa salary kasi mejo mataas na rin ang demand tapos konti lang marunong.
