okay guys i badly need your advice...

im in deep trouble! and i dunno what the heck i should do!

i just signed a contract at RADIX as a junior programmer in RPG! but now im having second thoughts if i really want that job! as we all know (well i hope...) the starting pay is so not good!

the question "why did you sign the contract if you know that the pay's not good?" well because RADIX was the third company i applied to. Offshoring.Inc (passed the exam but stills lacks the experience that's why i failed), CPI (passed the exam but due to my 5 failed marks i failed!) and here comes RADIX! i passed and was happy that i got the job. so i grabbed that opportunity because i want to work asap as a programmer! but still behind that excitement im still doubtful if i should really take it. hence, i still took it.

now i dunno if i should continue... i know RADIX offers good training and would open a lot for doors for me (accdg. to Macky_Ex) and i believe him! but im really worried about the pay that i'll be getting! should i not be blinded by money and pursue this? who knows i might benefit in the long run.

can i still quit?
should i stay at RADIX?

what should i do?

ill be starting at october 16...

help...

read the terms and conditions of the contract.

some contracts stipulate that an applicant should compensate a potential employer in the event the applicant backs out.

and since you already signed the contract- you are legally bound to the terms and conditions stipulated in it.

your choice.

option 1: remain, and comply with the contract

option 2: talk to RADIX, and amicably neogiatiate a mutually beneficial exit.

^ well the only condition that would null the contract would be the ff:

1. if i fail the medical exam

2. a derogatory record (NBI)

umm teka... since di pa naman ako nagtetrain sa kanila. applicable ba sa akin yung bond! if my logic is right dapat hindi pa. pero since i signed the contract--- hmm... what do you think?

^ susme! hahaha!

teka! kung sabihin ko kaya na magbackout na ako. kasi upon rereading my contract. it says here that ill be bonded for two and a half years upon employment. my employment starts at october 16, 2008. hence di ako liable na magbayad ng Php 240,000.00.

i hope im making the right choices if i pursue this decision.

what do you think?

I'm going to assume that you're a fresh grad since they still take into consideration your grades in college. My advice: never let an opportunity go once you have your hands on it. You've mentioned that you didn't pass on the first two companies you've applied for; paano na lang kung di ka na sinuwerte sa mga ina-applyan mo next time and tumagal pa lalo ang time na jobless ka? Isipin mo na lang na yung magiging stay mo in Radix as an opportunity to gain experience and increase your market value.

Also, as much as possible, don't burn bridges with potential employers. Malay mo, magkaroon sila ng job opening in the future na gustong-gusto mo, pero di ka na nila ico-consider dahil sa naging negative experience nila.

^ umm so do you think im just being blinded by the money? i mean... reality check it really is important... i am single with no dependents. sa totoo lang yun din talaga dahilan kung bakit ako pumirma sa RADIX--- that is to grab the oppurtunity at hand! and some people even mentioned na magandang career choice ang RADIX.

now i know... sa pera talaga ako tumitingin! (nakakahiya!)

dapat future ko iniisip ko.

still i need some time to think things through...

haaay.... ang hirap!

You're already bound by the company's terms since you already sign the contract. Try these suggestions...

yep! you have a point! pero kasi di pa naman ako officially employed sa kanila eh. so yung terms and agreement sa contract eh wala pa effect (that is accdg. to their contract) kaya ngayon alam ko na kung magback out pa ako eh wala ako mava-violate sa contract ( i hope im right!).

naku po! ang hirap!

^ The mere fact that you signed the contract, you are now bound to the company, meaning: You are now officially EMPLOYED by the company as a trainee/probie.

^ Why not?

Besides trainee palang ako. Ang mahalaga ay yung matututuhan ko. Large pay can wait.

agree with TA, dont burn your bridges. If i were you, i would have actually consulted people around me before signing the contract but in your case that is history

Try mo to approach the HR and inform them of your decision and if they are willing to let you go since you havnt officially started with them (remember to do it earlier than later) then good luck in finding a new job. If not then you simply need to man up and accept your commitment/contract

Just bear in mind though that if you do the approach above, HR or whoever your training officer might give you a hard time since it is evident that your heart is not with the company (ika nga pepersonlan ka nila) so you need to consult your parents/siblings before actually doing it

2 and a half years is a lot of time for a fresh grad but believe me those years will just breeze by once you start working.

i think it really is sinking to me that i should gain the experience first and do everything that i can to stay ahead of my A-game! lumilinaw na lahat sa akin.

and guys with regards to my career. i know that im making the right choice if i stay with RADIX right?

^ Yes, at mag-aral kang maigi as a trainee. Yung skills mo ang panlaban mo.

I'm very sure, di hamak na tataas ang sahod mo pag regular ka na. But as a trainee, tyagain mo muna ang maliit na sahod/allowance. ;) Good luck!

korek c abulugadventure...large pay can wait

if you're going to compare it with other IT Consulting firm mas ok ang bigay ng radix...kc trainee k pa *** sumasahod ka na.

unlike with the other firms...allowance during training...and if you passed...tumataginting n 9k ang sahod

just make the most out of it...after ng bond tiba tiba k n sa kita!
