There is no future being a BPO Associate and the worst thing is you'll get stuck. Growth is almost good as absent though the title looks really enticing. I agree with Mr. Corinthian, the skills that a person will get for being a BPO associate is as good as nothing that even a high school graduate can perform this kind of job. True, this position calls for applicants who might not succeeded in entering their prospective employers so they had to resort to this so called "desperate option." So Mr. Marquee guy, you should have tried applying for a different job position ...

ako, as a fresh graduate, hindi ako nag-hahanap ng mataas na position.. ang hirap maghanap ng work ngayon, especially kaming mga fresh grad na wala pang experience.

sa tingin mo ba makakapasa kami sa exams at interview kung ganun? kala niyo ba madali ang exam sa accenture? swerte ko na nga eh, at natanggap ako dito,, yung ibang mga fresh grad, wala pang work hanggang ngayon. at hindi lang basta-bastang kompanya yun. hindi niyo ba kilala ang accenture? isang sikat na kompanya at international pa.. hindi lahat nakakapasa dun.

I worked before in one of Accenture's BPO, now I think the biggest project they have. Totoo mas maganda ang compensation ng IT dahil mas mahirap ang work at yung experience ng personnel ang binabayaran. There is no such thing as 1st class or 3rd class. Nung naguumpisa kami, mababa talaga compensation ng mga tao. Pero eventually ng lumalaki yung project naging okay na rin continous naman yung pagdagdag ng benefits. Yung mga tao ko dati, karamihan Supervisor na ngayon. Yung iba nag apply sa ibang BPO project at nag training sa abroad. Nasa iyo naman yan kung papano ka ma promote. May growth naman kaya lang mahigpit ang competition. I'd say okay ang training and experience.

Basta kung san ka masaya dun ka. Kung ayaw mo sa BPO then hanap ka ng ibang work. Simple lang naman. Walang ng away.

The BPO proponents claim that the job in BPOs is challenging and it inspires confidence in the youngsters and they learn to gain patience.

If so, what makes these youngsters leave such a “challenging job” after a short period? Why such a high attrition rate of 40%. The BPO proponents also aver that a stint in BPOs help the youngsters improve their communication skills, if nothing else. If so, why invest so much money in establishing BPOs when one can learn communication skills in classes that are imparting communication skills for ages now.

Yes it true that some people are working for more than five years in BPOs but it is only because they don’t have age on their side and also because they don’t have any career options left for them.

BPO employees lack self esteem and are treated like slaves. When you have to bear customers’ abuses without being allowed to react, when you are not allowed to speak even a word outside the written script, when you are ticked off for slightest of mistakes, when you can’t take breaks at will, when you have no recourse to social & family life, when you have a monotonous job at hand, and when you have to take drugs to ward off insomnia & work pressure, then one’s self esteem is bound to suffer. If enduring customers’ abuses without making a riposte and not getting holidays is not slavery then what it is?

Safeguards with respect to employee abuse have to be in place.

They get salary for doing their job and not for hearing abuses.

Then there is problem of transportation at night especially for women because not many BPOs make arrangements to drop their employees to their houses. At the most the employees are dropped to the nearest railway station. In such cases, women can fall preys to unscrupulous elements at night.

Sir, *** BPO workforce ang pwedeng masabing hindi kagandhan ang work environment. Pero sa Solutions Workforce, matindi2ng bala after 2 years of bond. ( Programmers, Software Engineers ) And yung 9k pay siguro na-offer sayo kasi no experience at all ka. Bale kasi *** offer nagdedepende sa experience you had :)

I have experiences already and I guess all of us who applied there got the same lame 9k offer. I do not care on whatever department that would be, but still the offer is so so cheap and you'll feel ridiculous, unjustified. In my post it is CLEARLY stated what are the job descriptions, obviously it's not for programmers or software engineers? Accenture is cheap, they are cutting the human resource cost to maximize their profit. Tsaka nga pala I have been in an account under Accenture before and their motto: "Overwork, underpaid".
