hi peeps especially hr's,please share ur idea about answering this kind of question while applying because one company asked me ""why do you want to lower your expected salary than to your previous job?"" but though i answered it very carefully and reasonable naman.

My question is, is that will totally affect the actual salary that they will offer? assuming that the applicant is w/ less than one year exp.

Thanks:)

HOW MUCH IS YOUR EXPECTED SALARY?

How much do you offer to the applicant who is qualified for the said position?

^ correct me if i'm wrong mga peeps! *okay*

Korek!

The Four Bargaining Factors

Salary negotiations can be a very delicate matter. However, the more you know going in, the more influence you can exert when the time comes. Take the time to research your salary carefully and determine where you stand on these four bargaining points:

1. Know the relative worth for your position in the marketplace.

2. Clarify what qualifies you to make more than average and more than the employer’s initial offer.

3. Determine your target salary and benefits.

4. Forecast how long you are willing to wait until the negotiation resolves in your favor.

The Rules of Open-Door Negotiating

There are several rules to observe in the game of open-door
negotiating if you want to play it well:

• Try to postpone the salary discussion until a job offer has
been made or until you are in a second interview.

• Do not be the first one to mention an exact amount of
money, no matter how many ways the interviewer tries to
get you to inform him or her of what you earned or what
you wish to earn in the future.

• Speak in terms of ranges of salary rather than using
exact figures.

• Postpone saying no to an offer until you are sure you
have all the information.

• Postpone saying yes to an offer until you are sure you
have all the information.

• Postpone, postpone, postpone. There is no reason to
rush a salary discussion, especially when that discussion
could add 15 to 20 percent to your earnings. Be patient.

Finally, remember that your base pay is not the only thing you’re negotiating
for. You’re actually negotiating for a full compensation
package that may include a sign-on bonus, extra benefits and
perks, and many other features ....

^ although some of these are not applicable in reality, it might give you the idea how to do it... hehe...

Goodluck! *okay*

hehe.. share ko lang how i compute for it..

if you are not a fresh grad, and you are being asked about this, ganito daw *** computation nung based from a former officemate

per month
base salary + average OT + bonuses + 13 month pay + XXXX = expected salary

*XXXX - pwede nyo ito idagdag based on your preference.. reasons for such is experience etc..

is it ok to retract in the job offer interview the expected salary that you have stated in your initial interview?

The key to salary negotiation is knowing your own market value. Research. How much your skill/talent + experience is paid on average all else being equal. Then you add your "premium" - your value - how much you are worth more(less?) than the average because there is no such things as a real average skill. Skill is an abstract concept but salary is not. If you can communicate your value to the prospective employer and if your prospective employer agrees then you have done a good job. Please note that the market also have generous and stingy employers. The problem with the Philippine job market (assuming we are talking about the local scene) is that there are more job seekers than there are jobs so the key really is in communicating that you have higher value than the others, not lower.

Leave it blank. Haha. Fresh grad ako, I leave the "expected salary" blank. Same as pag tinanong ka ng HR sa intial interview huwag mo muna sagutin as much as possible. Sa closing interview na like what pagie said.

Naku lagot!

:confused::confused::confused:

Oh well, at least I had the opportunity of coming to their offices for a second time.

wag mo na isipin na kesyo ganito ganyan un mga kasabay mong offer or pinanggalingan ek ek. complete your research first to make sure tama nga un expected figure mo.

hinihingi yan at the early stage ng recruitment kasi pag may headcount request, siyempre may budget or range yan ng kayang ibigay ng company for you. forecasted na yan for the year eh. ideally di dapat sumabog.

now dun sa mga salary inarte players, i can smell you from a mile away kaya naman di ko na kayo tinawagan anoh ehehe - bato bato sa langit tamaan cute. (ambisyoso ka, build your credentials muna before ka magdemand ng ganyan kalaki, hmph! :P)

dont give a figure first. just say you of course expect one that would be commensurate to the job description and your job experience, then ask their offer, para sila unang mamigay ng amount. it would be better if beforehand you already have more or less an idea of the ranges of salary the company offers (though of course, you shouldn't blurt this out). as long as you dont give outrageous amounts, this shouldn't be a problem.

^P.S. In cases na *** ang paunahin ng amount, then just be honest. Just be sure na your amount is reasonable. After all, di ka naman ***** mag-apply somewhere na alam mo nang me reputation na kuripot.

baka mukha ka kasing malakas kumain.... at tipiong nagta-taxi araw-araw :glee: j/k

pero seriously, you should have done your homework and researched the market rate of the position you were interviewed for.

nope... it shows na ignorant ka sa value mo, at sa market rate ng posisyon na pinapasukan mo (in short- you did not do your homework).

pwede ring pumunta sa DOLE para malaman ang minimum wage- worse-come-to-worse, google it (key words: phillipines <your position/job> salary- or something to that effect).

well.. ika nga, bago sumabak sa giyera- lagyan ng bala ang baril- kasi ala ka nang time gawin ito pagdating ng putukan :D

ahh ganun pala yun thanks buti nalang may PEX at may c0Rinthian sa PEX.

ikaw ano ba sinasagot mo pag ganyan ang tanong sayo?

anung sagot ko?... "depends on the total package and the scope of my responsibilities"

tapos yung offer nila- dapat better ang benefits, as well as yung basic- or at the very least- dapat may opportunity for advancement :)

ngayon, kung basic monthly salary ang pag-uusapan (na di pa kasama ang benefits and bonuses) I usually ask for +20% of my current (kung same ang role and responsibilities)- kung iba namang role ang ino-offer- tatanungin ko kung ano ang market rate... and add 20% doon :D hehehe

^nye. bakit naman i dont know, wala ka ba man lang ineexpect talaga? they're asking you kase they want to know "what you're worth." ***** naman you know the salary range of the position you're applying for so yun na lang sagutin mo.
