Facts:
1. I'm 28 years old
2. I'm a Product Manager
3. I'm female
4. I've never had a credit card (My family kept warning me about it)
5. I'm afraid that what they think could be true

Amongst all the credit cards available, which one is the best one for someone like me? And why?

If you drive a car, you could save a lot through gas rebates using Shell Citibank, BPI Petron, etc.

If not, Citibank Cash Back rebates is also great.

Just be sure to pay in full on-time.

Do research on their interest rates. Some cards give high limits but with high interest rates as well.

Ask yourself how you plan to use your credit card. Would you be using it for installment purchases? Do you plan to pay only in minimum amounts each billing cycle? Then get a low-interest card from BPI or EastWest Bank.

If, however, you plan to always pay your bills in full each month and you are only after the convenience of carrying plastic instead of cash, then get a card that would be most rewarding to you. There are rewards card that give rebates for gas or medicines, special discounts in partner establishments, mileage points, or even perpetual annual fee waivers.

Study carefully each credit card's terms and conditions and decide which one is best for you. Or you can even apply to all of them and if at least one gets approved, keep it. If you get approved for several cards, keep them (as long as the first annual fee is waived. For most cards it is). Use them for a year and then later decide which one would benefit you most and keep it while you cancel the rest.

Good luck on your application.
