just want to know your own perceptions on this "professional growth", considering the work you are in to now, do you have this sense of professional growth? if not, are you going to search for that job that will give this feeling to you-even if it will reduce the amount you are earning?

for a beginner like e, i am not yet experiencing it.

Fresh graduates and young employees usually equates Professional Growth with high salary which is not the lone measure of professional growth or career growth.

Like any theory of growth, one should start at the bottom or infancy. Learn to walk before running. Start muna with job applicable to your course kahit maliit sweldo, basta may matututunan.

Then when you think you already acquire all learning possible to get from the company, transfer to a new company that will give you more experience. By this time may experience ka na maipagmamalaki or qualified ka na to that position. Pwedeng higher staff or lower management position.

Work hard to be promoted to the highest position possible, kasi minsan maliit lang company or heavy sila sa seniority, di ka na ma-propromote. Pag sa tingin mo wala ng patutunguhan ang career mo don, resign ka uli. By this time, you might have 3 to 5 years of experience ka na. You can now look for a job that you dreamed of, good company, good work and high salary.

Professional growth = work experience + maturity + good working attitude

Notice na di kasali ang high salary. Professional growth is all about satisfaction with yourself.

Opinion ko lang naman ito. Others might have different view.

sa akin ang professional growth, kailangan may good attitude ka at may aptitude ka, willingness to learn. sa una, uutusan ka lang siyempre, dapat proactive ka humingi ng task pag wala kang ginagawa. tapos consistent ka, i mean consistent pataas. hindi iyong magaling ka ngayon bukas hindi ka na napapansin. tapos hindi mo mamalayan, nasusubukan na ang leadership mo, may mga baguhan, siyempre ikaw na magtuturo. minsan (although mahina talaga ako dito) you need to play the game of work politics. dapat mapansin ka ng boss mo, chika-chikahin mo. alam mo naman mga management gusto napapansin din sila.

sa akin naman i will equate professional growth to salary, siyempre, bakit ka ba nagtatrabaho? as you climb the ladder siyempre, lalaki sweldo mo

ako po kasi first job ko to, im a fresh board passer. di ko naman mafigure out kung anu kayang job ang makakapagbigay sakin ng prof growth na hinahanap ko. i passed a resume in a bank, but i am thinking twice of leaving this routinary boring job i have since upon entry here, i am already in a permanent status, while in other, you'll be on a probationary period. but i really wanted to search for another job that will give me challenges, to learn more.

This is a common concern of young professionals, patience...

Been there, always want to do something more challenging and wanted to resign immediately.

But sometimes, we just thought na wala ng mas boring pa sa work mo, sabi nga, the grass seems always greener on the other side of the fence. Only to realize later na, we just need to be creative, learn more about the job and the company and most importantly how to deal with people.

When I interview candidates, I tend not to consider those who jumps from one company to another too often or below one year. Yung tipong 3 to 5 jobs in two years. It reflects that the candidate is restless and unstable. This person has the tendency to leave the soonest he/she finds something not to his/her liking however small it is.

Working is compromising, walang perfect employer and walang perfect employee.

there are so many kinds of professional growth kasi. and all of which, dapat meron ding corresponding increase in pay. there's what we call as technical growth. if you work in a manufacturing, IT, or a company that is highly technically, merong growth sa speciality like form being a level 1 to a level 2, say, engineer 1 to engineer 2 or specialist 1 to specialist 2 to specialist 6, something like that. same yung job na ginagawa mo pero you are being compensated and given a higher salary for your master of a specific skill. Meron din namang managerial growth. say, from being a subordinate to a manager. in big companies, meron pang iba't ibang levels ang pagiging manager. say, from manager 1 to manager 2 to manager 3 (all manager 1's report to manager 2's, and manager 2's report to manager 3's towards the CEO...) lahat to siyempre, may salary increase... sorry, but i really wouldn't consider it a professional growth kung walang salary increase... sa opinion ko lang po...

Agree. When I say high salary is not as important, I don't mean no salary increase at all. Salary increase is not equal to high salary.

In my previous company, may change in levels and salary increase din, but the increase is too small na halos di mo naramdaman. joke nga namin dati, di pa pwedeng mag aircon bus sa increase, pang jeep lang.

But I stayed there for many years since I still learn new things from that company.

I achieved professional growth there. Now, I reap the benefits.

I know some people who transferred to a new job that offers 300% salary increase but resigned after three months because they cannot cope up with the demand of the job, so hindi professional growth yon.

All I want to impart is, if you're happy with your job and earning enough (hwag ipokrito, importante ang pera) then stay.
